No, but that promo alone just made me want to..."obtain" the PPV, and I'm doing so now. That and I hear Corino/Steen is solid too.

I don't really keep up with ROH that much, but I crack up every time I see a Briscoe promo.

I believe they're exaggerating for emphasis on the disparity. I doubt Shelton is a millionaire too (I doubt ANYONE in WWE is a millionaire outside of like 5-10 people), but he's still probably much more well-off than any lifetime indy wrestlers.

I mean, those Developmental Contracts they referred to are only $500 a week, which is $26K a year. Not quite "tell your wife she doesn't have to work anymore" money, but it's a storyline, and they're the heels who are pissed off and jealous because these two ex-WWE guys came into their company and won the tag titles and beat them in the process.

And there's a bit of tragedy in the Briscoes' promos. For how often they brag that they are the only two who have been in ROH from Day One almost 10 years ago...that means that they've topped out in ROH for almost a decade with no advancement beyond that company.

Being a 7-time ROH Tag Team Champion is impressive on one hand...but from another perspective it's a little sad.

And the mere fact that they took developmental tryouts indicates that they WOULD abandon ROH if they had the opportunity. It's not out of loyalty that they stay there...it's because it's as high as they can climb.

I love Truth, I'm just sad for Miz now. I was just saying in the chat, since winning at WM he's:

-lost the eventual feud with Cena
-lost a feud to ALEX RILEY (well, Miz won the last match with him but Riley beat him clean twice, including the PPV match)
-lost at MitB
-lost at Summerslam
-lost the feud with Air Boom
-got kayfabe fired
-"won" the feud with Punk and HHH, if that was even a feud. Also Nash interference
-lost to Rock and Cena
-lost to Punk at TLC
-is now likely going to lose a feud with Truth

...eesh.

So yeah I guess I'm kinda sold on the Kane/Cena thing now. It's setting up a perfect Emperor Palpakane/Luke Cena moment with him either crossing over or not at Wrestlemania. I'm thinking this will be Cena's path to Wrestlemania.

- Fights Kane, loses to Kane at RR.
- Kane cites this as evidence that not embracing the hate has made him weaker
- Maybe fights Kane in a rematch at a Raw/EC later, wins after like... being intense or something. Not going full out heel or anything.

There might be another guest in the moment but if you add this story arc to Piper''s earlier they're building this up pretty well I think. And yet because it's Cena you can't be sure he will turn at Mania to beat Rock, either. But it'd be great because they're really putting a story down.
