On sale for 75% off today, great multiplayer and can never hurt to have more b8ers playing! (Also have an achievement for the Gift Pile if you're into that sort of thing.)
It's basically a tower defense (Don't leave yet!) where you also control a character and also attack things coming in. Persistent leveling system, upgradable equipment, and the multiplayer make it pretty freakin' awesome. Up there with Bastion in terms of fun I've had with games so far this year.

Never underestimate the power of stupidity in numbers. ~War13104 Never stoop to the level of idiots. They will drag you down and beat you with experience.
This game went to hell after release. It was a fine game on release, but the developers clearly have no idea what they're doing with patches. The amount of power creep that has happened in two months is obscene.
I could log onto my characters that I put 40+ hours into and play for an hour on the new patch and probably find equipment that's at least 2x better than what I had when I stopped playing a month ago.
But.... all things considered it's $3 and I ended up spending over 50 hours on the game so I can't really say it's a bad deal. The game is horribly addictive. Even though I don't think the game is quite as good as it was on release, it's probably worth picking up anyway.

No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.
I play it with 3 other friends and it's fun, but only because we're friends and we're not nazis about items and selling for mana and stuff. It's pretty fun but I wouldn't say it's the most fun ever. I prefer Borderlands and L4D2 for 4-player.
I would, but I consider TD games to be an unholy blight which is slowly but surely spreading across the gaming world, blocking out all that is good and pure in strategy and churning out an endless sea of repetition and tedium from which no light can ever escape from beneath the weight of the billions of identikit games which get spewed out onto the internet every day.

"I'm Commander Shepard, and you're standing in the biggest library in Citadel Space. Look me up."
Since I bought my copy through Amazon, does that mean the only way to contact me to play it is through in-game? I'm not too familiar with how Steam works.

Most games I've bought on Amazon have been redeemable on Steam. Check your Amazon digital games page, might have a key that you can redeem on Steam on there. (I think the email you get when buying it will have a link to that page.)

Apparently my laptop meets the "recommended" on it exactly.

From: foolm0ron | #029 It runs on the Unreal 3 engine so you can use that to judge if you can run it
I have no idea what this means in computer terms since I rarely play PC games
