360 literally had 2 exclusive games this year. Halo Anniversary can't count because that's just an HD re-release. It's pretty sad.

Though, it's unfair to not count Halo Anniversary. It's not just an HD re-release. They redid the graphics completely and it uses completely different engines.

I really don't think that is the state of gaming. PS3 continued to have a lot of exclusives and a fair amount of them are really good.

I wouldn't say "a lot" of exclusives. More than the 360, sure, but most major releases that aren't Nintendo first party games are multiplatform.

Man, no Infamous 2 on the list makes no sense if only because Killzone 3 and Disgaea 4 are there.

Though Yakuza 4 is a way better system exclusive title than a lot of these too.

Yeah, honestly, if Kirby Return to Dreamland is in the running (despite not getting a whole lotta overall buzz) or Disgaea 4 is (despite being totally niche), there's really no reason Yakuza 4 should be off.

Several of those are downloadable titles, which you can't really count. And there are also a few that didn't see wide-release. And then you're counting stuff like the Ico/Shadows collection, but saying Halo Anniversary doesn't count.

kirby and disgaea are much bigger games than yakuza is stateside. hell, kirby's just plain bigger period. that one's fair. and disgaea.... pretty sure that's more to do with bacon's personal tastes. dude seems to favor that series.

Yes, Kirby's bigger, but it's not really a big release in the series.

And I wouldn't trust Disgaea having a bigger fanbase than Yakuza, they're both totally niche and completely different genres!

hey now, yakuza 3 actually broke the 6 figure barrier outside of japan! barely. i'm assuming 4 did too, and maybe this time it actually broke 6 figures in just the US. ....not sure i'd buy that.

still, NIS did release a couple games this year for the ps3. ar tonelico and neptuna along with D4 kept 'em pretty busy. though granted, entirely different developers. besides that, infamous, uncharted, LBP, and i think an r&c, i think that sums 'em up for the year too. but there ain't much wrong with a multiplatform game winning a console poll. and everyone seems to forget that there's a bunch of Kinect games that are exclusive to the system. if anything the biggest snub sales-wise would have to be dance central 2. >__>; of course with the way rock band lost to deus ex, well....

Nah I know it's not a perfect list, but it's all I could find. For instance, we all know Sorcery wasn't released and who knows if it ever will be. It serves as a nice reminder of the games that did see release, though. I wouldn't count Ico as a new exclusive release.

Besides, it's a Sega game and they've been crazy successful recently, between their developed games being great and them publishing a ton of good stuff too! Totally gotta be a reason they keep translating and localizing the Yakuza games despite the tons of text and all that.

considering 3 basically did as well as 1 and 2 combined, don't think there's much to worry there. i mean it's huge in japan so the games will continue to be made, but outside of it, well....

then again it was $10 last month. so hey!

It's quite a bit better, yeah. inFamous 1 often had rather enclosed story missions and put the enemies in places which took some work to get to, or took a good precision shot. inFamous 2 doesn't really have this - the ground cover system is almost never used in this game. Enemies are much more diverse now, so you'll need to develop some situational knowledge for each enemy. It makes for a much, much better flowing game.

There's a lot more morality exclusive content. A lot of story missions will completely split depending on whether you take the good or evil path.

Story is about as good as the previous game's, though I'd say it ramps up more quickly.

The new powers system allows for quite a few different takes on the main abilities. Even moreso on a second playthrough. Melee attacking is much more useful in this game, the Amp has good range and stun and the combo finishers will pretty much always kill enemies.

Improved Static Thrusters lets you move around the city one hell of a lot easier. The vertical launch poles and lower buildings in general help, too. Lightning Tether is particularly awesome for movement, though you get it really late.

I'm also surprised Killzone is there but I'm also surprised it saw a sequel let alone another sequel. I guess there's some people out there somewhere who actually like that series for some reason.
