they should test these things before they advertise them as lag free

also the reviewers should be like "I don't actually know anything so don't trust me when I say I noticed no lag in whatever game I was playing"

welp there goes $75 wasted

shipping was a significant part of the cost, I wont get that much back

I'd rather just complain and be grumpy for the next 15 minutes before getting over it if that's cool with you

Anyway guess I'll just pick up another Madcatz fightpad, those are pretty great. and I'll stop spending money and time trying to get PS2 controllers to work on my computer because it probably just isn't going to happen.

You spent $75 for that? Why?

2 of them plus shipping

I also spent about $300 on a lagless monitor from Dell (well .6ms of lag, but that's as close as it gets) and I'm pretty satisfied with that. this is all part of my project to get latency as low as I can on my computer for gaming. I'm mostly happy with how everything has gone, I just wish I could find a controller situation that has a good match of quality dpad and not extra lag. Madcatz fightpad meets those qualifications but doesn't have analog sticks so you can only use it on old console emulators mostly.

I'm thinking of writing a review on the website as a warning to other people like me, but be pleasant about it. Pretty much the first feature listed is "No lag, no dropped inputs" and if people are buying it for that purpose they'll be disappointed. It's pretty functional and works correctly on everything else it's supposed to do, just not the one thing I cared about.

I wouldn't spend $75 on a lapdance dancer, I only drop that kind of money on lagless PS2 -> Xbox 360 controller adapters

Should have just ordered an arcade stick that would have lasted you years and years to come.

I might still. The adapters were mostly to find a suitable way to play various emulators, so I could pack away my Sega Genesis and SNES without the lag being too noticeable.

I was also considering getting a couple PS2 arcade sticks, and using them for PS2 CvS2 and then adapting them into my 360 for everything else. With the realization about these adapters, I don't think I'll do that now. If I buy a stuck, I'll probably just get a 360 TE or Hori VX SA.

Tested the adapter against a wireless 360 controller, wireless 360 controller has less lag too. It's pretty whack that a wireless connection has no lag but a simple converter can't seem to avoid it.

I think I'm going to invent a lagless controller with a good dpad

and a lagless operating system that can feed video and audio and poll input in real time

this stuff seems to bother me more than anyone else in the universe so I should probably be the one to fix it
