I think I can beat that level with less consistency than anything in the old games. And yet the rest of the game is a cakewalk, even practically the entire Special Worlds barring a few of the time trial levels. And don't get me started on the placement of the "optional" star coins. More often then not they're placed in the way . I'd have a harder time getting zero of them than all of them.
So yeah, that and Grandmaster Galaxy just makes me sad that they can make good levels when they want. If they can splice levels of half that difficulty throughout the game, it would be fantastic.

Yeah, Nintendo can make good levels when they want.
Both Galaxy games being full of good levels proves that.

I can only speak for myself, but I died way more times on most of the levels with the blue/yellow/red platforms, on a couple of the Bowser levels, and on a few miscellaneous levels (mostly in the special worlds). That was with those levels generally having checkpoints and being much shorter than S8-Crown, too. *shrugs*

I sort of feel like they should just have one Star Coin per level but hide it really well rather than trying to do three, especially in levels as small as the ones in 3D Land.
