She was 95 years old. I'm sad that she's gone, but I'm happy because she definitely led a full life. My dad took the news pretty well, too, mainly because he accepted last week that she was on her way out.

Hopefully, she's on her way to being reunited with the husband she lost 22 years ago and the son she lost 20 years ago.

I too have had an elderly family member die recently (though he was my stepmom's dad, so I didn't know him all that well). Still, it's rather easy to accept, and good to know that they died with little regrets.

Yeah. Her living a full life is definitely something that helps here. That's the one thing that I am afraid of - that one of my relatives will die sadly or die missing something.

Your grandma will be missed, but I am sure she was content at the end of the day.

That leaves me Great Aunt as the only one alive of 12 siblings, and she's 101.

Sorry to hear, you have my condolences.

And wow, that's some longevity in your bloodline if she made it to 95 and your great aunt is 101.

Longevity in the females.
The males, not so much.

And my mom's side carries fun things like suicide, Alzheimer's, and heart disease down the bloodline (not sure if the last one is at all hereditary, though).
