It's worth noting that Gaikai's business relies on cloud gaming, so having one less console to compete with would be in the company's best interest.

...why would microsoft leave when they've taken 2nd place on their 2nd console. they took forever to quit on zunes and that was a day 1 failure.

why would sony leave when it's one of their two major profitable divisions and literally holds up the rest of the company.
