My family owned pet rats several times before, they are pretty cool. We had a strict policy of only getting females though because the males were nasty as f***

though one time we had a hermaphrodite. It was also hairless and blind lol

As far as pets go though, there are quite a few rodents I would rather own: chinchillas, mice, squirrels, gerbils, and hamsters are kwooter than rats. :3

Furthermore, rats do not form a bond with a specific trainer but rather are motivated to work for food.

I love Guinea pigs, but I could never own them ever. I can't imagine trying to sleep with those animals in my room.

Well I was like 10 or so when I had them so I wasn't a perfect owner far from that.

They loved their cage so much though, whenever we'd try taking them out they'd paralyze. Not much we could do with them because of that. I guess we should've started taking them out as soon as we got them.
