Bought this earlier today, haven't seen too many people talking about it. Figure there have to be a few other people here playing through it! Are people liking it?

Picked mine up today at Target. I had it preordered at Gamestop, but Target offered a $20 gift card with the purchase so I'm cancelling that Gamestop preorder. Looking forward to starting it eventually!

Let's get drunk and make bad decisions "Life is a bunch of stuff" -- Whiskey Nick
I'm enjoying it so far. The introductory area is sooooo boring, but when you start traveling it picks up quick. The only big issue is that you can only take 2 active quests at a time, and to me that's....a REALLY big issue, but I guess I'll get over it....by skipping most of the sidequests!
Also, the loading times are pretty bad, although mainly just when you're entering a new time. But that's some Sonic '06 ****, there.
I like -the new Crystarium -dialogue choices -catching monsters -Chocolina's boobs
I don't like -how every random encounter leaves you a little disoriented because you usually have to turn around to find the enemy and then are facing a different direction at the end -actually using monsters in battle -everything else about Chocolina
Dialogue choices seem rather pointless so far. I answer, get a response, and then move right along. It said something about affecting the story later in the datalog, so we'll see. I was hoping you'd be able to actually go through the options instead of choosing only one.

The dialogue choices also apparently affect the items you get in those square treasure boxes. And you can redo areas if you want to see other scenarios play out from branching situations. Not that I really have any interest in doing that.
If you're going to take an idea from that game, you might as well do it right! Also, the rewards you get from Live Triggers don't seem to do anything, from what I can tell.

Anyways, I'm apparently just swimming in these rare, "2 hours of grinding and still haven't gotten its crystal" monsters. Got the Armadillo thing and White Wolf on the first go.
The White Wolf is ****ing broken. His magic is over twice as high as Serah's even after including her weapon. His spells aren't great....but once I get other Ravagers that are weaker but learned better spells, I can just merge them into him and make him unstoppable.

Yeah, this is pretty annoying, it happens to me a lot.
I'm up to chapter 3 right now and it is pretty fun. The characters and dialogue are really lame though. Also, am I supposed to be able to get all the fragments for an area the first time I visit, or do I have to go back at later times?
We're rolling now. I don't like the new character that was recently introduced -- and I'm not sold on Purple Sephiroth either -- but everything else has been great. I sat through a nice cutscene about the future, the past, paradoxes, saving the future by changing the past, portaling to the present, and then realized I'm playing a Chrono game. Works for me! Noel is still a boss -- best character of FFXIII anything.
-- "When I was a young man, I had liberty, but I did not see it. I had time, but I did not know it."
But Noel is on pace to be one of the worst leads the series has ever had.
He's a lead...?
About four and a half hours in so far. Fun game but I don't think I'll like it as much as FF13, its characters are less intriguing and I don't like how it feels less streamlined (more wandering around finding items, etc.). Still early so there's plenty of time to re-evaluate my opinion here.
