Board 8 is a place where people from all types of people from all walks of life come together to discuss all sorts of topics and socially interact without actually doing so. In the decade that is has existed, all kinds of users have come and gone. Good users, bad users, smart users, poor users, bro users, troll users, foreign users, you name it. Diversity has always been celebrated on this forum.
In that spirit, this list will recognize the ten most "Unique" users. Indeed, the ten users selected here are certainly "special" and "distinct" in their own individual ways. These are the kind of users who are truly "one of a kind". When any of these users post, one's initial reaction is to contemplate how such a person actually exists! Every person on this list is just not comparable to any human being to ever walk the earth, and that is why I feel the need to honor them in this topic!
So without further ado, let's get this party started with an honorable mention.
Honorable Mention #1 - WVI
A "well respected" user who would probably be higher if he was more active these days. Unfortunately for us WVI dropped everything and literally moved to Kansas to be with a half man/half dragon lover and doesn't really have internet access there. And it is reasons such as that that land him on this list and make him so special and celebrated on this board! Not many people have the tolerance and creativity for others that WVI has. On a board where even accepting the fact that others have different opinions is frowned upon, WVI actually embraces the weirdness of others to the point where he incorporates it into his own lifestyle! That is tolerance in its truest form, and his love and emulation for such things makes him one of the most unique users on this board!

The funniest thing about that video is all the annotations about how I DON'T USE THIS ACCOUNT ANYMORE and I WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO PUT THIS ON YOUTUBE and advertising places to get the song from. It's a 40-second clip dude, get over yourself. >_>
Maplejet is a TRULY special user, and I am happy that most people here, if not all of them would agree with that statement. Too often on this board their are certain portions of the board who for some unknown reason fail to see how "unique" a lot of the users on this list are. It confuses me and also disappoints me, as this board would be a much better place if everyone was more active in letting "special" users know just how much we appreciate them. That's one thing you can do if you like this list: Go find a "distinct" user, and really tell them how "awesome" they are.
Back to maplejet. What makes him such a "great" user is how he is able to cheer people up just by being himself. I cannot tell you how many times I have been in a bad mood, saw a maplejet post or topic, and then instantly just felt better about myself. The great part about that is how he doesn't even put effort into it, its just his natural personality, and I can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am not the only person who has experienced this! Maplejet is also the kind of user who is willing make major sacrifices for the entire board. He alone has stood up to Ulti, recognizing the true threat to the board that King Nothing represents. While this action has led to significant amounts of embarrassing public ridicule time and time again, maplejet has not given up the fight.
Edit: Apparently maplejet has given up the fight and left the board. Oh well. Sources indicate that maplejet will now be focusing his time on another challenging task for himself, which is rumored to be actually saying hello to a female.

8. lefty
Lefty makes this list for one reason and one reason only: He is bar none the user with the strongest dedication to his convictions. I've been on this board for like 6-7 years, and for the majority of it I and many others liked and respected l3fty. He was a funny guy, if not a weird one at times, but still never really had issues with him. He could have lived the rest of his internet life in peace, settle down with a nice girl, and retire as a respected and well liked member of board 8's greatest generation. All he had to do was simply remain civil and keep any sort of controversial beliefs to himself, and he would be alright.
Enter BIGPUN and the collapse of his life. The guy was the living embodiment of Murphy's Law. His life sank to the point where he had no choice but to ask for charity, and did so on this board. Many people, friend and foe alike, sympathized with PUN to help him get through this life crisis. Even those who did not donate kept him in their thoughts and prayers.
...Except for one man. One man...who could not believe what he was seeing. One man...who did not believe in using Board 8 as a means to an end (the end being giving yourself a sliver of hope). One man...who just would not stand for the injustice that was so apparent to his eyes but was ignored by the blind masses.
Lefty had a choice to make. He could sit idly by as BIGPUN and his family received the help that they so desperately needed, which would allow him to maintain the warm reputation he has enjoyed here for years. Or he could do what was necessary. What had to be done. What so many refused to do. He had to take action. He had to stop this madness. Lefty knew what was at stake. He knew that this choice would mean he would never enjoy the same amount of user contest votes that he was used to in the past. He knew...that there was no going back.
He stuck to his convictions. He caressed his e-pop tenderly one last time, and then began mass marking BIGPUN's pleas for help. When the last message was marked, he wept. Tears of sorrow fell from his left eye in remembrance of his e-pop, while tears of joy fell from his right eye, as he knew that he had ended both the extreme injustice that had been unfolding as well as BIGPUN's family chances at getting back on their feet.
This act of valor has doomed lefty to never win another user contest again, but at the same time, it has earned him a position on this great list.
Actually, I might be on here just for defending Feminism, and openly admitting to enjoying Twilight and Aaron Carter.
