31. Jessie Animated Movie Toy Story 2 / 3 Voiced By: Joan Cusack
I admit to being very dubious when I heard they were coming out with a Toy Story 2. After all, a sequel especially to something like a childrens movie, never compares to the original. But Pixar came through and for me and many others, Toy Story 2 was at least just as good as Toy Story 1, maybe even better. Thank God Pixar had the sense and the drive to kill that direct to video mess that was being planned. One of the most moving scenes in TS2 is when we get to see a glimpse of Jessies past with her kid Emily. The Sarah McLaughlin starts up and there isnt a dry eye in the house. Jessie is a great counterpart to Woody and I think a much needed addition to the gang she probably also greatly widened Toy Storys demographic. Up to the point shes introduced the only real female toy weve got is Bo Peep, and shes not really involved in the adventure at all. This is understandable and makes sense, because, well, Andy is a boy after all. Still its nice to have a competent female join the cast and work so well with the other, already established characters. Plus Im a little big of a voice actor nerd (if you couldnt tell) and Joan Cusack does a great job bringing personality to the character.

30. Oerba Dia Vanille Video Game Final Fantasy XIII / XIII Voiced By: Yukari Fukui/Georgia van Cuylenburg
Major FFXIII Spoilers Yeah. Im sure Ill catch a little bit of flack for this one, but I wasnt annoyed by Vanille. Personally I thought Hope was a way bigger offender in that department. And honestly I feel like the director is partly to blame for a lot of the annoying things about the character. If you listen to interviews with GvC she says that they wanted to keep Vanilles characterization and mannerisms very Japanese. She explains that with the other characters, they tried to Westernize them as much as they were able, which makes it possible to get rid of a lot of the quirks that we as a culture might find annoying or off putting. Honestly, Vanilles characterization is no different from, say, Rikkus. Theyre meant to fill the genki girl, role. Mostly likely if you dont like that type of character, you wouldnt like them period. But I thought GvC did a great job with what she was given, and trust me when I say she was absolutely perfect for the part. Just take one look at her facebook page. Shes super positive. All the time. Getting back to Vanille, what I thought made her such a great genki girl was the fact that she had layers beyond that. She tried to be so happy to hide how miserable she really was for pretty much the whole game. She felt guilty about Fang facing their original focus alone, afraid because she knows shell eventually have to face that same focus again, guilty about Serah becoming a lCie, guilty about Dahj becoming a lCie, sad because she has no idea if Fang is even still alive for a long time, guilty because shes lying to everyone in at least some capacity, and yet she still tries to act happy and positive about everything. So yeah, if you think about what shes going through and how she acts, I think it makes for an interesting character. Plus shes a great Saboteur. So win/win imo.

32. Dr. Callie Torres Television Drama Greys Anatomy Played By: Sara Ramirez
Greys Anatomy Spoilers Heres an entry that I dont expect to get too much buzz, I dont think many people on Board 8 watch Greys Anatomy. Adding to that, its kind of a chick show. But that doesnt take away from Callies greatness. She began as a funky, off beat surgeon that got involved with George (terrible character) and married him. But wait! George is in love with Meredith! Silly George, everyone knows Meredith and Derek are destined to be together. This ends in tragedy for both Callie and George. Then George dies and everyone is happy ( or is it just me?). But wait! A new lady challenger comes! Callie dates and flirts with a couple of lame chicks and then decides to cry in a bar. And this is where she starts to get really awesome, but I wont say anymore because her better half appears someplace else on this list (spoilerz!). Even though Callie is sort of a B character on Greys, shes a really good B character, especially when it comes to her sexuality story line. She comes from money of, one might presume, dubious origin, and is cut off when her father finds out she likes to eat the tuna. She also has a really intense sort of eff you religious style speech to her dad, and its awesome. Callie eventually becomes head of orthopedics at Seattle Grace, but the show has yet to give her her own resident, so she really hasnt got much play this season. Plus, her father is played by Hector Elizondo. And who doesnt love that?

32. Dr. Callie Torres Television Drama Greys Anatomy Played By: Sara Ramirez
I have only seen like one episode of Grey's but this seems like a waste of Sara Ramirez's talent. I wish she would go back to broadway or at least reprise her role as Lady of the Lake in Spamalot..

Vanille, yech. And I may not like that archetype to begin with, but I could stomach Selphie and Rikku and such. Sadly, I used her for my party once I was able to choose simply because her, Fang and Sazh made the best compliment of characters imo, so I had to deal with her even outside of story sequences.
I haven't read Runaways Gen, but I'll definitely look into it. I don't know a whole lot about comics, which is hilarious because my dad owned a comic book store for like ever lol. Thanks for the suggestion.
Sorry I haven't been working on this much lately. Family drama happening >__> But I haven't given up! The whole list is done, so there's no way I wont finish it.

27. Lucy Diamond Movie D.E.B.S. Played By: Jordana Brewster
Australia is toast. This might be the character that youre all least likely to know, but shes a great evil mastermind that secretly wishes she could just fall in love and be a pirate. Lucy is from D.E.B.S., which is an extremely quirky independent short turned extremely quirky feature length movie. It got a very limited release and didnt make much money at all. Now they play it on Logo all the time and its usually available for free on demand. Still, if given a chance its a pretty good little action/comedy, and the romance between Lucy and Amy is sweet and decently well done. I have a feeling most people here would also get a kick out of Lucys henchman buddy Scud. Jill Ritchie and Holland Taylor also play characters in the movie, and they, along with Jordana, give D.E.B.S. a pretty decent B/C list celebrity cast. So yeah, very campy action, some pretty funny moments, and a good to very good cast make for a nice little lesbian themed popcorn flick.
26. KOS-MOS Video Game Xenosaga series Voiced By: Mariko Suzuki/Bridget Hoffman (I & III), Colleen OShaughnessey (II)
Ah KOS-MOS. If you chatted with me back in the days of SC2K3 you know how I feel about this little gem. I was in the top 10 on the contest leader board for pretty much the entirety of Round 1, and stayed there until it came to KOS-MOS in Round 2. Long story short, I had no clue what I was doing and thought hey, this chick is awesome! Shes totally gonna win this whole thing. Everyone must think shes that awesome! So yes, KOS-MOS for SC2K3 :) I played Xenosaga hot on the heels of FFX, which was the first RPG I had ever played (excluding Pokemon), so its sort of nostalgic for me. As youve probably surmised by now I love me some strong lady characters. I mean, this chick has gatling guns for arms! Now, I will admit that Ive only played Episode I and maybe 3 or 4 hours of Episode II, so I dont really know how the character has evolved beyond her original self. Still, KOS-MOS holds a near and dear place in my heart just because I remember being such a big fan back then. At the time I was really into anime as well, so the art direction/character design just made me love her that much more. And if you think about it, all the other Xenosaga characters were kind of lame. I mean, Jr.? Momo for crying out loud? No thanks. Although I always did kind of had an affinity for Miyuki lol.

29. Special Agent Grace Heart Movie Miss Congeniality Played By: Sandra Bullock
Miss Congeniality is my second favorite movie of all time, and Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses ever. I have to give props to Sandra for improving a lot of Gracies more endearing qualities (the scene when she walks through her apartment near the beginning, completely improved), and ultimately I think thats what makes the character so funny. And for me, relatable. From her walk to the way she talks to the way she eats stake and chugs beer, this is one bad ass chick, and her transformation into a beautiful pageant queen is all the funnier and heartfelt. Some (lame) people might contest that the message this movie portrays is a bad one, making little girls think they have to be a certain way or people wont like them/they wont be happy. But I see it more as the story of a girl that already wants these things and doesnt really know how to achieve them. Shes put up so many walls to keep people out that she needs help breaking them down to become a more well rounded individual. And theres nothing wrong with that!
28. Jenna Maroney Television Comedy 30 Rock Played By: Jane Krakowski
By far and away the funniest part of 30 Rock. Jane Krakowski plays the insecure, image obsessed, fame hungry Jenna Maroney flawlessly. And like I think Ive mentioned I usually prefer the supporting cast to the main characters in this cast Jack and Liz. Not that I dont like Tina Fey. Everything Jenna does cracks me up, especially her musical performances. Oh God, Tennis Night in America? Maybe its because Im a big tennis fan and a big football fan, but that theme song. I found myself wishing theyd actually adopt it somehow. I think Ill just leave you with this:
