Just got Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI yesterday and was playing around, but trying to accomplish much on your own as a lone sovereign kinda sucks. For anyone who doesn't know what RotTK is, it's a domination game where you lead a family and try to take over Three Kingdoms-era China.
My character will be named Dillos Ages because the Dillos will reign supreme throughout all the land. BOW BEFORE THE DILLOS.
Additionally, I'm making it so two people can't have the same skill because variety is for the cool kids! I have Insight because I'm going to suck at this game hardcore.
You can set your LDR, INT, POL, CHR, and WAR skills to whatever you want but the total can't exceed 260 because you all can't be too awesome. Max for one skill is 99.
Growth period is a feature I dunno much about that apparently makes your skills become higher at certain points in your life and become lower at other points. Precocious means you're best in your 20's, normal is like 30-40, and late bloomer is 50+. Maintain means it doesn't change. I think. No idea wtf ability persistence means but I imagine long is good.
Aptitude is how good you are leading a certain type of force; Spears, Pikes, Bow, Cavalry, Weaponry, and Navy. You can have one S rank, two A ranks, one B rank, and two C ranks.
Character type is how you act, voice is how you sound, tone is what your text looks like I think, court is how important the Han dynasty is to you, and aspiration is what drives you. I'm guessing types like Eminent and Self are more likely to defect, but I dunno for sure; just choose what sounds interesting.
Oh and I can apparently set all our ages with a mass editor thingy so no worrying about not being born if I decide to do the Yellow Turban uprising scenario or whatnot

Might end up making a topic on shenanigans that happen in games I play with these characters but I'm incredibly lazy and won't have internet next week, but if I do end up creating a bunch of nations and letting them go at each other, I'll boost your stats to be slightly higher or something. I played RotTKX a ton and did something similar on PotD so it's not out of the question!

Only problem I see is that +Invention isn't a skill you start with, it's something you gain buy buying it with TP gained over the course of a game, kinda like research points. Stuff like Beguile, God's Command, and Sorcery are skills.

Liu Yan to the west, Zhang Lu to the northwest, Liu Bao to the east, Yuan Shu and Dong Zhuo to the northeast. I chose to start at Yong An since it seems to be positioned near enough to Dong Zhuo to have interesting stuff happen yet far enough to where I don't immediately get my ass handed to me in wars. Leaving everything on default except Duel and Debate, setting them on Choose so I can skip through one-sided fights without having to do them. On to the game!

heh, Lu Bu's been slaughtering everyone with his 10000-man unit even though his will's at like 10/100 and he's faced about four or five 2000-3000-man units with 90~/100 will
he's about to fall, though, Xiahou Dun and Yue Jin have him surrounded with stronger units and Hu Lao gate's hurting

yeah but his city nearest mine alone had 70000 soldiers when I had about 30000
was able to survive thanks to archer tower spam, my leader's troop size being like 11000, and Hogo being a total badass by nullifying attacks left and right
found out sometime last night that the word 'weak' on skills refers to the enemy having a lower stat than you in the related skill, and Hogo has 97 attack at the moment, so >__>

he's fighting against like 4 forces at the same time and even had his capital taken, but he's just pushing further into dong zhuo's territory
assuming I stop being focused by sun jian and liu yan for a little while, I might even be able to push north and link up with him in a few years! still stuck with only two cities, though, I can do literally nothing but defend at the moment x_x

Ah, I assumed you were doing a battle royale scenario when I picked my character's parents...one of which you just killed, lol. Also Cao Cao is force to be reckoned with, he'll continuously advance even when you think his forces should have been crush ages ago.
I think I'm gonna restart; I picked a reeeally bad starting position and I'm making absolutely no progress whatsoever. Liu Yan keeps a stack of 100000 men at all times in the adjacent city and will attack if my city gets lower than about 30,000 men, Dong Zhuo keeps sneak attacking me through the mountains, and all of my spare forces are thrown again the Sun family in a war that keeps fluctuating back and forth that I can't win because they have about 5x my troops. Plus, I'm pretty sure Cao Cao is on his last legs up north and Dong Zhuo just took Liu Biao's last city, so now he's bordering me and has spare troops to start throwing at me ;_;

Can you have duels with anyone other than your main guy? Granted, I'm guessing my guy is waaaaay too strong to ever get a duel request accepted... but it may be worth it from the headstrong, brute force types! With 99 War, who knows, maybe I could stand up to the badasses like Guan Yu and Xiahou Dun and all that.
Otherwise, least I'll negate damage all the time so I can spearhead or defend stuff.
But yeah, if this is anything like Dynasty Tactics 2 or Empires modes of Warrior games... best thing you can really do is try and stay low key at first. Get officers first off, maybe even serve another lord if you can. Then once you've built up a bit, you steal some land and take out weak guys or strike up alliances and whatnot.
