And it's always presented as if it's original and new and interesting, when it's anything but. The worst part of it is when it's with aliens or other species and stuff. It isn't clever just because you have aliens or catpeople or anything else. It's lame. It doesn't make me go "Oh, how deep of a story" or "What good storytelling!" It just makes me go "Oh, so we're going to listen to this again." The thing that bugs me the most is that it's never actual race issues. It's this fantastical crap that is supposed to substitute it. At this point, I'd find racism between ethnicity even more fresh in comparison! It's all the same and it sucks, and I'm tired of it being in so many games I've been playing recently. In the sort of atmosphere that game provides, you'd expect it to be just flat racism everywhere. But when you really look at it, everyone is accepting of each other, generally. The protagonist isn't racist. The antagonists are multi-racial. Stuff like Star Wars and Mass Effect and Avatar (Airbender) have racism, but only in the context of a broader nationalistic conflict. FFX actually comes to mind when talking about plain old racism... Cliches are born for a reason; because the idea is popular and relevant.
