Finished Majikoi S.

Final route was incredible. Every bit as great as the True Route in Majikoi, probably even better. So much love. <3

Shame the rest of the game wasn't this great. There were a couple Majikoi level routes (Tsubame, Monshiro), but the rest were generally hampered by too much h-scenes, and pretty samey h-scenes at that. I mean, having plenty of h-scenes is fine (Tsubame had more than anyone else) but you gotta have some story too. The After stories were better than the ones in Majikoi, but they were pretty H-heavy too (that was expected). Momoyo's and Chris's were pretty cool, and Miyako's was fitting for her. Her CG redesign is about the moest thing ever - (hope that link works...).

Other great thing about it is that it introduces like 25 new characters and all of them are great. I find it pretty remarkable how you can have so many great characters without anyone being unlikable.

Still awesome overall though. Hope this gets TL'd once Majikoi is done, since it still has its fair share of awesome. Good times.

Sket Dance anime got a 2nd year. Kana Hanazawa is joining the cast too which makes the news even better. Beelzebub's filler episode also had the greatest mecha cosplay ever.

Katawa Shoujo beated

Lilly's route was like a better version of Shizune's. Never got that invested in it though and the ending was pretty cheesy. My route ranking would be something like

Emi > Rin > Hanako > Lilly > Shizune (what a surprise)

The first three are pretty much tied though. I'm not sure if Emi or Rin was my favorite character. I could relate to Emi the most but Rin was more interesting. So one terrible route, one decent route, and three amazing routes

Also, the only bad/neutral ends I got were Rin's and Shizune's (what in the world.) I'm not sure if I'll ever get the rest since Rin's neutral was so depressing and I imagine Emi's and Hanako's other ends will be depressing too. Would just feel weird getting them after the good ends and I don't want the sad stuff to be what I remember.

I went to the mall and bought a manga magazine just to see how the story ended. Then when I saw it was an extra that told the backstory, I went back and bought earlier copies. Repeatedly, since there was a lot of past extras. All just to see who the main character ends up with.

Daily Lives OP: Shiny Tale
2/1/2 split. what's the 1? TV size of the OP.

Shiny Tale - this really isn't the OP i expected for the show when i first heard it, and the full version still doesn't 'fit' the show's image. i mean i totally dig it, but it's just a weird one to me, y'know? well. point is i still like it. though strangely not enough that i'd listen to it regularly. outside of its oddball placement for the genre it just ends up being a rather solid tune but that's about it. 6/10

Capsule - hm... starts better, then doesn't go anywhere. i actually like the way this band sounds, but there's not much oomph to 'em that stands out. think that's the main problem here. 6/10.

Inazuma 11 Go ED3: HAJIKE-YO!!
3/2 split. huh. odd number, okay. the first two are instrumental'd in there.

HAJIKE-YO!! - this song's interesting. what if all these girl groups stopped in favor of 1 main singer who will do 90% of the song on her own? you get this. if there was even 1 other voice to go with this voice it'd probably be made better. it's just done in that bubbly style. not bad however. just not that good. 6/10

Aijou Jounetsu Neppuu - the song's mostly cruising along with you jamming until the acoustic guitar kicks in and has a solo. that part will immediatley draw your attention and then you realize, 'i actually rather like this.' her voice is pretty easy on the ears, the tune works out, and though unusual it does fit a single person doing it. pretty good song. 7.5/10.

Yume no Katamari - ....dream of katamari? oh god. the last song actually fits in KD shockingly well. but this is another solo piece that sounds like a solo piece, which is nice. it just also cruises along, that's its only problem here. 6.5/10

Average: 6.67/10


Cophihan OP/ED - loop
2/2 split.

Loop - i'm assuming this is the OP. it ain't half bad. it also ain't half good. it's just kinda there for the most part. and that's how the song in its entirety goes. won't get any real emotion outta you of any kind. 5/10

Kanata - for the most part, see above. it's a different style, but... seriously. the worst cases are songs which don't do anything that good or that bad because there's just nothing to say but 's'ok.' 5/10

not only is the artist another anime, but it likes another anime unrelated to both. f*** me. i'm not sure if i get an ED vibe out of this song but it's actually pretty good and catchy. i see cardfight vanguard is trying to compete with yugioh over best anime EDs from a series where they play with cards/tops/other toys! (ps - it's Rakuen). but this is pretty good, surprisingly. 7/10

Shouri no Kizuna - oh hey, better song. this actually has a pretty great background going for it, a piano that's got everything down and the song just continues through on top. it's... actually a really good piece. i have no complaints on this. none. it's great. and then the awesome piano picks up a solo on its own and the song goes from 'pretty great' to 'really great.' wow. the insturmental of this is a must listen too. voices are good but the song is heavily, heavily made awesome by the background. it's an instrumental every bit as good as the song, or better, and it's a great song. THANK YOU MILKY HOLMES. 9/10

Also, I started reading ef. Only finished the prologue, but god damn. I was expecting this to be nice looking but it's gorgeous. So far, everything has been a CG and no sprites standing in front of a background. Also it has animated mouths. This is great. I wish the protagonists were voiced during their chapters though.

Natsume Yuujinchou Shi OP: Ima, Kono Toki
3 songs and... that's it. 3 different songs.

Ima, Kono Toki - totally honest, it's the voice. the voice is just... nasal-y. i don't really like this singer's voice at all, despite knowing the song is good behind it. just can't really take the voice is all. 4/10.

Ningyo Hime - much better. the song's a soft song so she doesn't have to do much with her voice in it and it fits well this time around. piano, violin, vocal, and.... snapping? or something close to it anyway. simple song, but good. think i'll listen to this one more often, so 7/10.

Sabitsuita Jitensha - this one annoys me because the song *is* good. the voice however *is* bad. at times, painfully bad. but the song is good. hate that mix because it turns something that i would really like into something that i just can't enjoy anymore. if the voice was good i'd totally be all over this. unfortunately as is... 4/10.

Gokujo. Gokurakuin Joshikou Ryou Monogatari OP/ED: Gokujo no Jouken
2/2 split. just an OP, just an ED? okay. last time i did that it was Aquaria's so... hopefully good?

Gokujon. no Jouken - i assume this is the OP. it certainly is active enough to be an OP, and it's pretty nice. i'm beginning to think every show with these same VAs runs a similar theme because i'm starting to identify people by their singing OPs. still, while this one is 'pretty nice' that's about all it amounts to. perfectly fine to listen to and enjoy. but while i can listen to this regularly, i'm not sure i *want* to. so many of these types of songs that yes, it's hard to make a bad one. but you start getting into a generic line and this one doesn't toe that far from it. 6.5/10

Kyoku Onna Overdrive - worse work with the singers. better work with the background. however, while it's got a good bass, guitar, drums, and rock vibe to it, the singers are basically K-On. it doesn't work that way. honestly i think i like the instrumental version better. base song though, 6/10.

Natsume Yuujinchou Shi ED: Takaramono
3/1... with the 1 being the TV-size of the ED.

Takaramono - soft song for an ED eh? not bad. enjoyable enough to listen to, nice production overall, and a good piano which i'm a sucker for. 7/10.

February March - catchy, active song. thing is i can't get a better feel than that. it's there and it's nice. doesn't just make background music, you jam to it. has a big of a swing vibe to it even, but.... something just seems to be missing from it to give it the extra oomph. still, good song. 7.5/10

a long long letter - this meanwhile just isn't that good. borderline elevator music even. ain't painful, just boring. 4/10.

Brave10 OP: Seirei Hirai
2/...1/1? instrumental and bravery mix of the OP. whatever that means.

Seirei Hirai - okay, bluntly the OP on this show sucks. not as bad as the ED, but it's bad and the full version is bad. 3/10.

Tenka wo Odoru - ...di...did they use the same beat. maybe the same song? i'm not sure. i don't care. the background on it sucks and the singer's better but this song is still terrible and who the goddamn hell puts this on a single, seriously. 2/10.

Seirei Hirai Bravery mix - 'let's replace the background with a techno version of itself.' 'why?' 'because that'd make it suck less.' and lo and behold the song becomes halfway decent. and by halfway i mean it still sucks, but it's not *terrible*. for the first 2 minutes. then you have 3 more minutes and realize this is just as bad. ...and then where the **** did that screeching siren come from!? goddammit NO. BAD. BAD SONG. 1/10.

Average: 2/10.
