Oh it was worth $10 easy, but Showdown in the Sun for $20 will be a much better investment if money is tight.

ESPECIALLY if tag matches aren't your thing, like you said.

"The Man" title inspired me to look up the past several years and compile where the European Championship would be today had it been not retired. Took a few things into consideration...

- Title can't change in tag team or handicap matches
- Title can't change on DQ or countout, unless said champion was in a match where their title could change that way
- If champion retires/gets injured and has to vacate his real title, he also vacates the European title.

At this given moment, the current European Champion is CM Punk! Other tidbits...

- Randy Orton would have the most reigns, with 9
- Shane McMahon would have the longest reign, beating Shawn Michaels on 3-6-2006 and staying unpinned in singles competition until losing to Bobby Lashley on 5-21-2007, making Shane's reign 441 days long
- Shortest reign would be Edge, who would win the belt from Batista at Night of Champions in 2008, only to lose it the next night to CM Punk

hey now, adam cole actually isn't really a guy wrestling in the wolves' style. only one in that match and it showed pretty clearly too. eddie/kyle actually would be a great match by the way things went, those two have some awesome chemistry that i think is better than davey/eddie. i really, really like kyle's take on that style of wrestling.

but that finish. wow.

CM Punk and The Miz. Daniel Bryan came close, but Zack Ryder pinned Mark Henry 1-on-1 two weeks before TLC.

Might try something different for the Hardcore title, like make it where the title CAN change in tag team matches, if the champ is pinned. Otherwise, it gets the exact same path as the European title once Batista gets it in 2005.

I can kinda smell where this is going though

If Orton wins it from Shane, then it very likely is about to get caught up in the WWE Title lineage, and then just like the Man Championship, Del Rio will lose it to Show to get it to swap brands and then it'll end up on Bryan.

JBL loses the title to The Blue Meanie in the summer of 2005, and in his last match with the company (GAB), he loses in a 6-man tag but doesn't take the pinfall, so he still retains the title.

Then he gets released and goes to 1PW for awhile

Speaking of The Man Championship

http://themanchampionship.tumblr.com/post/18813689072/a-detailed-title-lineage-30-alberto-del-rio-2

Trying to do an "A Detailed Title Lineage" once every weekday. We'll see how that goes.

Anyway, for the Phantom Hardcore Championship, I think it should change hands when and only when the champion is pinned in a match. And it should apply to every match, unlike The Man Championship which only changes hands in one-on-one matches.

It could change hands in multi-man matches if said matches were explicitly for the Hardcore Championship, right? I don't think, for instance, if Hardcore Holly was in a number one contender's match for the WWF Championship, and Triple H pinned Kurt Angle in said match, that Triple H would be the new Hardcore Champion. I don't know if there was ever a situation like that, though.

What I'm saying is I think it's best to assume that any match that wasn't said to be for the Hardcore Championship (meaning all of them since the title's retirement) was not for the title, and that the only way for it to change hands is by beating the champion. That's just my view on it, though. If you're going to go through the trouble of tracing and assembling the lineage, it should ultimately be up to you.

Alright here it is, the Hardcore Title Lineage through present day. I'm adding the rule that it can change hands in any type of match as long as it's not a countout or DQ, and the champ must be the one pinned or submitted. One exception: While I am including battle royals, I am NOT counting the Royal Rumble in title defenses.

Rob Van Dam (4x)
Chris Jericho (2x)
Kane (2x)
Triple H
Kane (3x)

Randy Orton (2x)
Triple H (7x)
Edge
Randy Orton (3x)
Triple H (8x)
Randy Orton (4x)
The Undertaker (2x)
JBL (18x)
The Blue Meanie

Here's where I'll split the lineage. I'll do the easier one first, with Blue Meanie being stripped of the championship due to being fired and not going to TNA afterward. In this case the match for the vacant championship is the first match the previous titleholder is involved in following Meanie's last match. In this case it's JBL vs. Undertaker on a Smackdown taping in July 2005.

JBL (19x)
Batista
Joey Mercury
Kurt Angle
Shawn Michaels (4x)
Shane McMahon (2x)
Bobby Lashley
Shane McMahon (3x)
Randy Orton (5x)
Triple H (9x)
Randy Orton (6x)
Batista (2x)
Rey Mysterio

Kane (5x)
Randy Orton (8x)
Wade Barrett
Randy Orton (9x)
The Miz
Jerry Lawler
The Miz (2x)
John Cena
CM Punk
Alberto Del Rio
John Cena (2x)
Alberto Del Rio (2x)
The Big Show
Daniel Bryan (YES! YES! YES!)

JaKyL is spot-on: Daniel Bryan holds yet another championship! Triple H and Orton hogging the belt as usual with 9 reigns each, all of those coming after the actual title's retirement.

Even with the added lineage, Raven's record of holding the belt 26 times is untouched. However, the longest reign goes to Shane McMahon. Even if I didn't count his near two year hiatus, he still holds the longest reign at just over a year before Lashley finally ends it.

I'll need more time to trace the lineage if I allow The Blue Meanie to keep the championship, but that should be pretty interesting

I think the problem with the Cruiser/Lightheavyweight title is that it, even if we give it a 24/7 rule, it's gonna end up on nothing but Middleweights and Heavyweights. Unless we add a weight limit, but then it probably doesn't even end up with any possible way on TV after a while, or gets stuck on Rey Mysterio forever.
