The microwave scene in MGS4 was absolutely amazing. Even me, with my pro thumb skills, was annoying by the button mashing. But at the same time it actually got me more invested. Like I was seriously mashing triangle and yelling at Snake to keep going. I've never been that involved with a game before. I had already loved Shep before, but ME3 brought me much, much closer to the character. In ME1 she was very much 'the scientist', which as a bit of a historian and archaeologist amateur myself is generally intriguing but it didn't do all that much for me; she just felt convinced Shepard was interested in her romantically and well... my Shepards aren't, lawl. ME2 pre-LOTSB, Liara still isn't all that great to me because the writing seems a bit over-the-top dark-side. (I've read the "Redemption" comic and she even starts out there as rather abruptly vicious, it just wasn't handled as well as it could have been.) LOTSB Liara works for me though. There's enough of the old Liara back there and the vengeful nature is much better-written. As for ME3... I kind of rescind what I said, she was at her prime in Lair. You're right, she doesn't really do much. I think there's a lot more going on if you romance her though. I'll have to watch esurio's file as she starts it later tonight to see what happens there.
