So my parents are worked up over this whole Trayvon mess.Dad keeps listening to the same story on the news, apparently thinking he'll learn something new. Well today apparently some new was mentioned for once, and it suggests that Travyon might have started it or whatever.
Cue typical cursing of "those white people" from dad, but even mom seems to be jumping on board this time. I don't know much of the story, I tend to not pay attention to the news, but it seems like both of them absolutely refuse to even listen to the other side of the story.
I dunno, maybe I'm just being stupid and taking things too seriously... or not seriously enough? I... just don't see the point in blaming this unfortunate incident on white people or any other group when it was only one person who could claim responsibility.
I'm really starting to believe I have at least one racist in my immediate family. Or maybe I'm just strange for seeing no reason to blame white people for anything. I'd rather focus on the individual(s).
I feel like "white people" is a big blanket of generalization to throw on this, but there's a certain attitude that I can see condemning. That's the attitude that led to the police not even so much as detaining that Zimmerman guy after the incident.
But it is sad that this is inciting feelings of racism. I'm white as hell and I was really upset about this whole situation but I'd almost be afraid to have gone to one of those Sharpton rallies, you know?

Well yeah, it's perfectly normal to be upset about this whole situation.
It's just I keep hearing "those [verb] white people!" for anything that goes wrong these days. As opposed to the person or direct group responsible. But then my parents seem to be the "vote for your team because they're your team" type of people.

...Is that actually why you put dark in your username or is it just a coincidence? I mean, "Dark Young Link" makes plenty of sense without any racial context.. >_>

Coincidence. This username was made shortly after clearing the Water Temple in OoT.
