81. Heigh-Ho (Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs) – Nominated by rychu_supadude



This song got boosted a little bit because I used to hum it on my way to work. I like the song just because of that, and that alone could sum up this entire thing. There isn’t anything truly special about what the song is but it is pretty iconic in my mind which is something. No annoying parts for me which is something new to this list at the moment.

80. Poor Unfortunate Souls – Nominated by Crimson “Loves Cheeseburgers” Ocean.


I am sorry Crimson, I just can’t do it. Okay so this song would be even lower if it wasn’t the fact that objectively it does some stuff right. The things it did right was set an evil tone really well and the animations on it were amazing for the time. The problem is that there are a lot of good (or perhaps more than good…!) Disney villain songs out there. I have very high standards for villain songs. So when a villain is as transparent as Ursula manages to be for this song I am just plain disappointed. I don’t like villains who are bad at their job. Only an idiot would sign a contract after hearing all of that and Ursula only got the job done because Ariel is such a failure in this scene. I will, after reveals of other villain songs, explain just how awesome other villains are at staying on message and sounding awesome. I am disappointed. But that said like I said it has a lot of technical merit. This was bottom five before I reconsidered.

79. Sally's Song (Nightmare Before Christmas) – Nominated by Forceful_Dragon


I like this song okay and there is nothing wrong with it but it just doesn’t stir anything within me. The singing is nice enough that it is clearly the best song on the list to this point but it can’t take it beyond that for me. I must state: I am not a big fan of this movie’s soundtrack. It doesn’t have any songs I would consider true stand out songs amongst the upper ranks of the Disney ranks but this is a nice song that I can appreciate. Oh, and it keeps it nice and short which is good because any longer would have been bad.

78. Mother Knows Best (Tangled) – Nominated by ???


I did note this is on another tier from Poor Unfortunate Souls, right? This is because the villain sets the tone very well. She does not come off as demented or selfish at all but while still doing it. The tone is cheerful but her words are sharp, harmful, and horribly mean. She cuts Rapunzel down so completely and makes it sound like she is doing her best to be a mother. Now my problem with the song is the actual singing, I am not a big fan. I just don’t think it is very enjoyable in context or out but the message is just so amazingly on point that it deserves its ranking here. Also while I didn’t find it good or anything there were no bad parts to it which is key at this point in the list. So it is a good “villain” song but suffers from weak vocals.

77. Night To Remember (HSM3) – Nominated by ???


I gave the full scene for a reason. The song is pretty unremarkable in places for me but it does have some high points. The chorus is very catchy but beyond that I wouldn’t remember the song for itself. The key here is the dancing and the get ups and everything that has nothing to do with the song are absolutely amazing. Whoever designed the scene did an amazing job. Like I would maybe mute the song and just look at how everyone dances and kicked ass on their parts. Except the song isn’t bad or anything so I don’t mind listening to it but the scene itself just impresses the hell out of me. Not my favorite HSM song by far (spoilers: If you didn’t keep track there is one on this list still unlisted, and boyis its placement going to piss some old school fans off) but it does its job okay.

Oh hey I didn't see Morning Report there.

I f***ing hate that song. It ruins the pouncing scene and I hated being forced to watch it on the DVD. I literally bought the Blu Ray Diamond Edition just so I could have the theatrical release. Now I won't have to suffer anymore.

Yeah this, she didn't have to make any kind of clever plot to fool Ariel because she could only think "OMG screw my family and the sea! I'm gonna come out of nowhere and marry hawt prince who kind of liked me for my voice only WITHOUT MY VOICE! (and without boobs)".

Only in an idealized Disney romance that plan could've worked.

That said, it's probably not unlikely for some people to be that stupid, so I guess that Ursula is more prone to take advantage of that rather than trying to deal with hard-to-catch preys.

76. Going Deep Into Your Mind (Phineas and Ferb) – Nominated by ???


Good song that is catchy with good visuals. There just not isn’t enough here to justify it going higher and while it is good that is all it is. In fact the song is so short that the only thing I have to say is what I have previously said. Oh wait, the video I linked after it ended gave me a quick link to a video with Emma Roberts who is just flat out adorable. I approve.

75. Mysterious Force – Nominated by ???


I like this a little bit more than the previous song and that was very easy to justify given they come from the same series. It flows a little better and the singing is more pleasing to my ears. Short and sweet isn’t usually my wheelhouse but once again if it was any longer it just wouldn’t have done the song anything but harm.

74. Mother Knows Best (Reprise) – Nominated by ??? (Guessing Gen though)


See I like this one a lot more than the other one but the problem here is that the tiers are going to be rapidly going up and so while this one is obviously superior it can’t go too much higher. This one is so much better because of the darker theme to it along with the more villainous and bitter edge to the tone while still not being downright evil in intent. Like again not to harp on Ursula but good god if I was with her I’d be like “yeah no thanks” while if I was Rapunzel in this scene I’d feel like crap because my mom was just trying to help. On point again, singing was a bit better, and it was just an all-around better version than the previous one which was perhaps a little too cheery in the background.

73. Stand Out (Goofy Movie) – Nominated by ???


So this was the highest of the Goofy Movie songs and I like that it is short. I also like the tune of it and it is, by far, the best of the three songs posted. It just stays on point and is enjoyable all the way through. They don’t try too much with the lyrics and it is a good scene all around. Now mind you the scene is completely silly but it is a goofy movie so if anything that is a positive thing. It just works for me.

72. Derezzed (Tron: Legacy)


Good song to listen to but it is hard to measure up with some of the songs coming up and especially later. Like it is a good listen and all but songs with no lyrics would have to be truly, truly special to match up against some of the titans of Disney lore and this just doesn’t do it for me. I liked listening to it a lot and Daft Punk sure as hell knows what they are doing but there isn’t anything more but the sound, and that only gets a song so far on this list at the level the sound is at on this track.
