like, the audio will lag and desynch from the video

and sometimes the audio will just skip for now reason

Try this:

1) Right click on said video
2) Open the Video settings
3) Disable "Use Hardware Acceleration"

Try a new video player? KMPlayer is excellent and low on resources.

This has been happening upon my laptop as well. YouTube seems to have different user interfaces on different videos. The one that allows me to choose a speed at which the video will play always causes this problem. It is most troubling and I have not found a solution to it.

If your problem exists not on YouTube but elsewhere, then we most likely have different problems entirely.
