Slow Time doesn't really do much to defend you... you should definitely use Frost Nova, unless you're really having trouble with projectile enemies. What is 30% attack and movement speed reduction when you can have 100% attack and movement speed reduction by freezing them? And with Cold Snap, you can use it twice as often as Slow Time. Shatter is great too.
Also, Split >>>>> Charged Blast

Electrocute with Surge of Power Arcane Orb with Arcane Nova (Obliteration on bosses) Hydra with Venom Hydra Energy Armor with Force Armor Magic Weapon with Blood Magic Diamond Skin with Crystal Shell
Glass Cannon Astral Presence Galvanizing Ward

Also, Split >>>>> Charged Blast
I don't like Split at all, I'd prefer it if it was 3 projectiles in a straight line like the Poison Dart skill runed.
If I want to do small aoe I'd rather use Electrocute.
Also I don't like frost Nova, 3 seconds isn't long enough imo.
Has anyone gotten the "I must be going" achievement? It just says to use teleport with <5% health on a Wizard, but it doesn't proc when I have almost no health.

From: Ayuyu | #203 Also I don't like frost Nova, 3 seconds isn't long enough imo.

From: Ayuyu | #204 I'll probably replace Slow time with Teleport + Wormhole once I get it, sounds amazing to get out of dangerous situations.
How far are you trying to go, exactly? You don't need to go 2-3 screens away to get to safety...
Ugh, I still can't decide what I want to level first for when I finally am done with my big assignments for the quarter/have the money to buy the game. My favorites so far are Monk and DH. Monk is so ridiculously powerful in the starter edition and much better fits my usual playstyle as a quick-hitting, mobile, lightly armored melee class. I can definitely do a lot more with it than my DH; it couldn't dream of soloing the monsters in 4-man public games that my Monk can. But I've heard the Monk is just god awful at Inferno level and is shoehorned into defensive skills and talents, and often can't even get groups, whereas the DH is much better then. Most of the DH skills/runes I find exciting are higher level too.
While Energy Armor is active, incoming attacks that would deal more than 35% of your maximum Life are reduced to deal 35% of your maximum Life instead.

From: GANON1025 | #221 Apparently something is supposed to happen to Smokescreen too, hopefully it's not a nerf.
I hope not, I finally figured out how awesome it is.

Yikes my wizard had a heck of a time with Belial in NM. Had to change skills and gear because I was literally getting one shotted by the third form. Had to give myself energy armor and a wand that gave +120 vit or something from the auction house. Kinda grew on me though. I may replace prism armor with energy armor.
Took 5 tries or so it was terrible. First boss in the game I've died to more than once.
Also sucks that teleport changes the camera angle on him. Really disorienting.
-- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love!
And I'm totally in love with Prism + The lightning shield buff that reduces casting cost.
1) Make sure lightning shield is always on.
2) Spam Disintegrate until AP is low-ish.
3) Turn on Prism and continue to spam Disintegrate now that it is basically free to cast.
Is there any reason not to run disintegrate on my right click? Ice beam isn't strong anymore, arcane grenades are very limited shot (I only used them briefly after I got Arcane Orbit) and the other one either (a) takes forever to hit or (b) can't even be aimed period.
Meanwhile disintegrate does serious amounts of work. Awesome raw damage, hits THROUGH enemies to kill everything in a line AND causes extra rays to shoot out of me using the rune so it can clean up even when things don't line straight up.
Trying to farm to level 50 on Azmodan NM. Soloing him is pretty easy at this point. Takes about 5+ minutes to actually kill him, but I have no chance of dying. Won't be on for about 2 weeks come tomorrow.

Tornadoman78: tornadoman and tornadogirl like to kick box each other in my tornaolayzers and she dosent even mind getting hit
So looks like Smoke Screen got/is getting nerfed. It now has a 1 sec base duration, 2 seconds with Lingering Fog. Cooldown is 3 seconds. It used to have no cooldown and 2 sec based/3 with lingering fog. From what I hear, this makes Inferno pretty much impossible now, with smokescreen bordering on useless. It looks like Blizzard is nerfing everyone to make Inferno harder.

Good.
Smokescreen, if used correctly, basically gave Demon Hunters the ability to have something stupid like 24 seconds of invulnerability. There's a video out there of a DH soloing Inferno Belial and never getting hit because of smokescreen cheesing.
I mean as it was Smokescreen + Prep could give you 45 seconds of invincibility, so yes it needed to be nerfed. But this was too much, just a slight cooldown would have been enough to mitigate its abuse while making it still viable.

From: Hrezs | #232 Someone said it wasn't supposed to be beaten til august
So impossible sounds about right
Wait, what? It's not like WoW where you have to do dailys or whatever to get better gear. Are they adding new content over the summer?

From: Ayuyu | #239 Nah, they just expected players to not figure out how to beat it before august.
I guess they thought we were braindead or something.
Well that's... really ignorant of them. Literally the company that made WoW didn't think that people given no daily cap on what they can do would take three months to figure out how to do something that isn't impossible? Blizzard has some of the most obsessive fans in the world. They literally have fans who have died from playing Starcraft for too long. I would have thought they were arrogant if they said it would take until June for someone to beat Inferno.
Lol nice, you can get the 8 books from Cain Old satchel in act 2 if you log off in the 2nd Cultist lair, you'll start inside but it'll be empty and the satchel will be there with a new book.
Blizzard has some of the most obsessive fans in the world.
It's not even that. I'm not even that obsessive. I figured out the Smoke Screen chain independently. It came as a result of being backed up against the wall so many times and realising "okay, I've been using smoke screen to get out of these situations, how do I just repeat the heck out of it and always be out of bad situations?" and then rolling with it. Like, I can't conceive how this would ever get out of balance testing without being intended.
Like, this is basic RTS fundamentals (heyo, who has the biggest RTS games on the market?). And... full disclosure: I'd describe myself as high plat/maybe low diamond league on SC2. That's by no means stellar. That's "better than 60% of players". ALL players. That includes people that log on once.
