Hmm, I'm not sure if I prefer playing on hardcore or not.

Hardcore is more exciting because there's something to fear but at the same time it's kinda boring because it makes you act overly careful so you progress slowly, also makes you take risks and experiment less with skills and items.

Like I would never go full int glass canon on my wizard because I'd be too scared of dying.
Yeah there are a lot of cheap tricks that make HC seem less appealing in this game. Like literally getting one shotted by something in HC through no big mistake of my own seems unenjoyable. I may not actually get into it this time around. The only reason I did in d2 was because d2 was really easy. This game is fairly challenging normally so.

In any case I'm glad I at least started with normal. So many cheap tricks in just nightmare. Those arcane sentries for instance from arcane enchanted destroyed me the first time I saw them simply because I didn't really know what they were I just saw a bunch of purple things around me and then they all fired and it was like "oh god oh god." I shudder to think how many things there will be to learn in hell and inferno.

I might try it out after I've seen everything in normal mode though.

Yeah, those trees piss me off.

Not because they're dangerous but because they take a year to kill and fill the field with "no walk zones" for like 30 seconds. zzz.

I think Inferno would be a complete dead-end for someone like me who's not going to use the auction house, which is really too bad. I think what Blizzard is going to be doing is perfecting the auction house to such a point, that the only way for you to get some incredibly badass item is to use it yourself.

Doesn't make sense though.

It's statistically impossible to not be able to find the best gear all by yourself.

Unless Blizzard specifically gimped every character to alter their rolls or drop rate to be sure they would never get perfect rolls for a given stat or something.

But that'd be disgusting.

Just in case you didn't want my take on it. I've found

Seismic Slam - Rumble,
Revenge - Vengeance is Mine,
Groundstomp - Wrenching Smash.
Leap - Iron Impact,
Bash - Clobbery,
Cleave - Rupture,

to be the best skills. Revenge I've never taken off. Seismic Slam with Rumble is better than the stun rune, because it lasts longer + slows better than the other rune will stun. I'm not yet level 60. Mostly, this build works fairly well (with the right passives) for keeping you alive. In Inferno, I'm sure it's different. My problem is being able to do damage; You need a good weapon for that, or someone else who does a lot of damage.

Oh man Inferno is ****ing hilarious.

I was literally getting chased by the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and his goons for 15 minutes, even through town as the NPC's tried their hardest dealing 1 damage a hit.

Is it me, or is the Templar way more useful than the Enchantress and Scountrel? Since no follower does useful damage anyway, his ability to heal and tank is more useful than the Enchantress' ability to slightly annoy enemies and the Scoundrel's ability to do nothing at all.

I'm pretty sure the Templar is by far the best.

Also, there's a glitch with the game. You can fight Diablo with your sidekick.

1. Go to Diablo.
2. Sidekick gets booted.
3. Friend (or anyone really) joins game.
4. Friend leaves game.
5. The option to have your sidekick fight with you becomes available.

Followers can do decent damage if you understand how they gain damage from their equipment. Which I don't, but I believe dps is decreased while +Stat is multiplied or something like that.

Azmodan was pretty cool on Nightmare. Got to see more of his attacks (as in, I got to see ANY attacks). The blood pool stuff was cool.

I can't comment on the other two but the scoundrel's totally useful. His blinding shot and slowing shot are good cc and can hit a lot of guys if you give him the triple arrow thing since all three arrows will unleash blinding/slowing AoEs I believe.

Either that or the AoEs are just pretty decent.

Also if you stack dex on him he does okay damage. My Scoundrel's base damage is 200 right now which is pretty decent actually considering I'm spending no resources on him. He outdamages my hydras

But yeah, Templar is the best from what I can tell. Best to take Scoundrel during Normal to hear all his dialog though.
