nintendo need to understand it's okay to release more than one thing a week on a digital platform.

you know what gets me with Halo? that game looks really good but in the end i know it's going to be a multiplayer shooter. if I could somehow be assured that it would remain as an atmospheric, Metroid-y campaign then I would probably be all in. kinda sad how all I really want is another Metroid game in HD with good controls.
I wish it were a new IP and not Halo - not that Halo is bad, but with it comes certain expectations and I doubt they're looking to reinvent the wheel there.
There's no reason they can't update the campaign while keeping the PvP standard. Halo campaigns are pretty good but I can't say I've noticed some great diversity among the games (haven't played ODST so if that's somehow very different...)

Donny: Are they gonna hurt us, Walter? Walter: No, Donny. These men are cowards.
Man, so far there have been 0 new IP announcements that weren't just teaser trailers. I know we're kind of in the phase of the console generation where everything is slowly dying in preparation for next gen, but man. That is just kind of depressing.
At least Sony has The Last of Us, and Nintendo's a wild card with a next-gen system.
I remember two teaser trailers that were really interesting and they didn't elaborate on. Wrecketeer is a new IP, sure, but it's also an Angry Birds clone. And......I honestly can't remember a fourth.
edit: I guess I did forget about the indie games but I couldn't remember if that was during the conference or on GTTV right before it.

I know we're kind of in the phase of the console generation where everything is slowly dying in preparation for next gen, but man. That is just kind of depressing. It's late in the console generation, and, to be perfectly fair, the only two conferences were coming from the biggest rehasher in the industry and a dominant rehasher once they find a shooter that they can squeeze dry.

What it usually means is that when your friend isn't playing, the other character is taken over by a dumb AI that gets in your way all the time or you have to babysit or doesn't revive you when he's supposed to.
In DS3 HE'S JUST NOT THERE. It's just like the classic DS you know and love. There's no banter. This has been extremely tricky (and expensive!) to figure out, but we didn't want to mess up a good thing. Cutscenes and gameplay are different depending if you're playing co-op or not.
This isn't a cover shooter. There is no "take cover" button or stuff like that. We do, however have some cool new enemies that can shoot at you. And that left Isaac feeling a little awkward to deal with it, so we added a few new additions to the controls. Crouches and rolls, mostly. The game knows if you're crouched behind something and does some elegant little adjustments to make the presentation smooth. That's about it. You probably wouldn't even notice.
The heart of the game is still strategic dismemberment vs. Necromorphic beasties. We just gave some of them some surprises is all.
- After ten minutes of nothing, here's Beyond. Lead actress in the game is Ellen Page, who Cage hypes up and then stays catatonic for the next five minutes. No gameplay shown, just some intiguing scenes. Given that they didn't show any gameplay, I assume it's another QTE game. - Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale. Officially announced for Vita, cross-compatible with PS3. Game looks pretty much the same as before. Big Daddy and Nathan Drake officially announced. - ps+ free games this month - infamous 2, lbp2, Saints Row 2. - ps1 classics coming to Vita: Tomb Raider, FF7. Finally! Now we just need PS2 games. - COD Vita finally gets announced. Black Ops: DECLASSIFIED coming this holiday. - Assassin's Creed Vita shown. Just a teaser and some tie-ins with AC3 for PS3. AC Vita bundle announced. - AC3 ship sequence shown: boat controls and battles. Exclusive dlc and bundles announced. - Far Cry 3 multiplayer/co-op announced. They made it sound like the mode was exclusive to PS3 but it's just an exclusive map. - They acknowledged that Move exists! And nothing else. - WONDERBOOK. Uses the Playstation Eye! And a move controller! JK Rowling writing a book for it! - This is unreal. - Millions of dollars were spent on this. - Playstation Suite ends the misery. Talking about being an open platform and allowing other devices to play I assume PS1 games. Renamed Playstation Mobile. - God of War: Ascension. Goes on for about 8 minutes too long. March 12, 2013. February/March are looking to be killer. - Last of Us. It's... Uncharted. With limited ammo and a bit more impactful. Also some AI interaction in pacing and in battles. Looks good, but also isn't the sea change that some people were trying to sell.
And that's it! No new games to announce at all (Except for Beyond which is out there), just a book, some DLC and some new branding on their mobile stuff.
also... where were the Vita games? they showed a COD they announced a year ago, and an Assassin's Creed. and that's it.
look at my recaps for Sony and for Microsoft. Microsoft had like 3x the stuff despite only having one system. sure, a lot of it was third party but damn. Sony's show was damn poor considering what it should have been.

Are you serious? In the time it took me to go to the bathroom, puke, and then clean up the mess (a decent amount of time) that's all they showed?
even the Vita exclusive games are ending up on PS3. it's hard to find a reason to buy a Vita outside of downsized console spinoffs like Uncharted, COD and AC.
well, we'll see about the latter two. but I'm not expecting it to touch a console experience.
yeah I agree with Ubisoft > Microsoft > Sony > EA. Nintendo could announce 3 games in 15 minutes and have 45 minutes of Miyamoto dancing and would "win" e3. well, beat Microsoft and Sony anyway. Ubisoft was legit good.
