3) Dallas Mavericks vs Miami Heat, 2006 NBA Finals
Heat win 4 games to 2
Recap- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_NBA_Finals
Highlights -

In the time it takes to read this writeup, Wade will have been gone to the free throw line 20 times

This one might be a surprise, considering you all know me as a Thunder fan. Back in 2000 or so, I wasn't really a big fan of any NBA team, but started watching Dallas since they drafted my favorite basketball player of all time, Eduardo Najera (and I can say that with a straight face). Eventually I fell in love watching DIrk and that was that.

That series against the Spurs was one of the greatest I've ever watched, and going from the agony of Ginobli's 3 to the ecstasy of DIrk's And 1 is probably a top fan moment for me. Winning the first 2 games of the Finals just raised my confidence, and I'm sure you all remember the "shocking" news of Dallas planning the parade.

Then D-Whistle happens, Game 5 obviously being the low point

There was an alarming series of posts this postseason where people were saying "Man I think I hate Wade more than LeBron now, isn't that crazy?" or "I think Wade is my least favorite Heat player, whoa" Anyone who watched that series rooting for the Mavs will always dislike Wade more than any other player in the NBA, and I'm happy Mavs fans got their revenge last year. But I was rooting hard for the Thunder in the Conference Finals and was not a happy camper after we lost in 5.

Honestly this just barely inches ahead of the last 3 or 4 in the rankings because of how much hate it made me spew.

Bitter Bonus Question
Most crushing loss you think the refs handed to the opponents?

While I wasn't a fan of either team, my answer here is SuperBowls XL and XLIII for both the Cardinals and Seahawks. At least unlike Seattle, Arizona tried to keep it close.

Barcelona vs. Arsenal 2nd leg at the Nou Camp in the CL two years ago. Robin Van Persie sent off for not hearing a whistle over the sound of 90,000 people after we'd just re-taken the lead in the tie. Everything turned after that.

For fun I asked my brother to rank these 10 for him personally (since you all should know my top 2 by now)
Only differences between the two of us is
1)He's still a Mavs fan, never switched to the Thunder (in the sense that when they play against each other he and my dad root for the Mavs, I root for the Thunder) (Once Dirk retires he will probably finally switch to the Thunder)
2)Not a huge baseball fan

His rankings are a bit more focused on how he felt on that day, while mine have had perspective moving certain games up or down

1)Mavs-Heat
2)OU-USC
3)Rangers-Cardinals
4)OU-Florida
5)OU-LSU
6)OU-Boise St
7)Chiefs-Colts
8)OU-Indiana
9)Rangers-Giants
10)Chiefs-Ravens

Basically OU losses are the most frustrating for him at the time, although asking him on what would change if he included prospective the OU-Indiana loss would be higher

Lions vs. Bears in the first game of the 2010 season. Calvin Johnson rule is born.

There's probably been some bigger losses caused by the refs, but no call the refs have made have made me that angry.

Well, except maybe this blunder:

The only one I can remotely think of here was when Julius Peppers left Carolina to join the Bears (which I knew immediately was Carolina's fault). I mean, considering my other favorite players...

- Most of the Cowboys' stars in the 90s retired in Dallas. And while I'm still a Cowboys fan, I wouldn't lose any sleep if Romo or Orton got traded tomorrow.
- UNC players eventually leave; it's called the NBA Draft and they want to join the 42 other UNC alumni that have NBA rings
- No wacky trades with the Canes or Pens in the NHL (besides the Canes getting Staal, which I thought was awesome)

So yeah, Peppers to Chicago it is.

yeah, i remember the play where the refs forced matt hasselbeck to throw a terrible interception when they were driving to take the lead, the play the refs blocked the seahawks out of the way for willie parker's 75 yard td run, and the play where the refs took out the seattle defense when ward and randle el connected for the flea flicker td. you know, all the plays that the refs affected, that contributed to seattle losing.

SO ****ING SALTY.

Then again, I would be too. The Kentucky Wildcats and Pittsburgh Steelers both won the title in 78, difference, is, Pitt has yet to win a real one since.

Enjoy your ref awarded asterisks....
