mindless repetitive time killer fun and they really just threw thsi game together and lack of the little things and attention to detail, but overall i enjoy the combat and vibe more than gta..... Disapointing they didn't add those extra little things and spend more time on the missions. The shootouts the enemies actually have more personality to them though and the overall vibe is so much better.

I really love the way you can kill people. It's not like GTA where you shoot someone in the leg they instantly die. You shoot someone in the leg they really act accordingly and fall down and writher before bleeding out. It's a fine touch I really appreciate in a game that's predominantly about shooting people.

Looking at you GTA 5

yeah you have to run around and duck and cover mixing up your weapons, hand to hand etc... i hate how they streamlined everything how you can call in whatever weapons etc you need though. they should have added stunt jumps, gambling and fun stuff like that. made the missions more traditional vs just repeating the same stuff.

gta iv was better than v this way too. had a more serious vibe and the euphoria engine how you could shoot out weapons and different body parts and how npcs reacted was way better this way too.

i just dont like the vibe of gta v that much. the gameplay and vibe is a turn off to me.

mafia 3 i wish they had more places to hide during police chases as well and car customizations etc..

@yem69420

He's into this game @kg88222 . Always telling me about it. I think it got low review scores because of early bugs which they fixed

Also if anyone can find out how to play Mafia 1 on PC let me know. It's not on Steam anymore. I have II on a Humble Bundle purchase

Yea mafia 3 is definitely pretty bare bones. But atleast they nailed the shoot outs which is pretty much what the entire game is.

I bought it on sale for $40 with season pass included so I don't feel ripped off

yeah I played that shit for 4 hours straight last night and thought I'd only been playing like 1 hour.

shit is pretty repetitive, and assigning rackets and reassigning ones fucks my abilities up, and they don't tell you, and you can't go back, so that sucks.

but the shooting is VERY solid and brutal. It captures frantic gun fights probably as good or better than anything before. The racing is actually fun too.

If you can get past the fact that it is like 40 hours of "drive here and kill everyone" and like a brutal story it is very good.

I liked how the cover was destructible, and enemies will throw molotovs at you. Made for more excitement than just popping your head out to shoot enemies

typical bog standard open world game, but with pretty tight combat mechanics. They also did a good job with the writing, characters and atmosphere and the big set piece missions are well done. Not a bad game if you can pick it up for under 30 bucks or so

I think the game is more fun if you just freestyle it and don't treat it too seriously doing every mission. The missions are there but you dont have to do them all. Each district actually has you doing different stuff. It plays well as a sandbox, freeroam type game with a good story. They added certain things like being able to drop grenades from cars etc and mines, car custimizations etc... you can tackle missions differently whether you want to stealth or just barrel into missions. my favorite thing to do when you have a certain objective is to just go in guns blazing and then hightailing out of there as they are still shooting at you. it would be cool if they chased you more though.

GTA and other games overwhelm you with so much meaningless side content thats not actually good, I like that the game is more focused. It is pretty bog standard though. Once all the dlc is out depending how they add stuff we'll see. I might get the season pass. Definately hate how developers do that then actually paying attention to the main game though. certain things they made part of the main game but other things not so much.

The story also just keeps me more engaged. I really don't like the characters in GTA. The first time I played it i went through doing every little thing and trying to 100 percent it. It got really repetitive that way.
