I decided to check this out because I heard it was good. And now I'm really digging it. Currently five episodes in and I love the whole world they've created. Occasionally it becomes a bit sloppy in execution, but overall I'm pretty impressed.

I watch it. I think it's a decent show with some good premises and good story lines, but also has somewhat too much angst and characters being bitches for the sake of development.

Yep. Season 1 was kinda hit and miss and had odd pacing issues, but I found Season 2 to be a big improvement with more interesting storylines.

Some of the characters make absolutely awful decisions, and some of the effects can be cheesy, but it's an interesting enough show.

Season 1 had higher highs and lower lows and just in general better single episode ideas but season 2 really got that epic feel going

The insane asylum episode might be the single best episode though.

they couldnt just have Quinton and Alice missing for most of the season while they had endless sex, so yeah a lot of that had to change

Yeah, I'd say right now my least favorite character out of the main cast is Quentin because he's just a hopeless fuckwit who gets emotional and pissy all the time, but is otherwise pretty worthless without any sort of luck or godlike powers he manifests. I don't actively dislike him or anything right now, but I prefer basically anyone else. I'd say my favorite characters are the seniors because they're just not up their own asses with drama and are just the reason for the most part.

Also, how do they get away with swearing so much on SyFy? Or is it censored?

TV broadcast laws only apply to broadcast TV. Cable channels can technically show whatever they want, but most of the time they self-police because of the fear of sanctions later on.

Live and their website version is censored.

Amazon Prime version, netflix version, etc is not censored.

I tried giving it a go a while back and didn't make it through the first episode. I'll probably like it when I actually get my foot in the door. I just need the right mood to strike me to give me the needed push.
