15 - 30% of the (pre-tax, pre-delivery charge) price. Asking in dollar amounts when we don't know the order price is a pointless question.

Guy's bringing your food right to your home door, tip him at least as well as you would a waiter.

EDIT: For a $24 order, I guess around $4 is good.

I know it has been a while since math class, but wouldn't 125% of $24 be $30? so you would only be giving him $54 total and a $30 tip.

125% = 1.25 not 125.

On my $16 (15.88) chinese order the other day I gave him $5.
But mostly cause that's the only cash I had in my wallet (I paid for the rest with my card), but he also delivered it in under a half hour so I figured a little more for that.

$5 is the minimum that's respectable honestly, as long as they're polite and on time. I delivered pizza for like a month, and let me tell you, people remember the houses that shaft the drivers. We'd never prioritize them in the queue. They were always bottom box.

It's true. My friend never admitted to spitting on someone's pizza, but he did know which houses didn't tip, and said the other drivers kept info on it, too. He'd intentionally hold onto the no-tipper's pizza for nearly an hour while delivering to other houses even though they put their orders in later.

Seriously though. Why do some people think it's a good idea to piss off the employees who handle your food? I don't like tipping for pizza...so I pick it up myself. You want to be lazy, pay for it.

Technically speaking, you are already paying a delivery surcharge. Also doing that gets complaints to management. Management gets annoyed dealing with complaints and fires you, you now get no tips at all. I used to be a waiter, even when a table stiffs you you make plenty of money from all your other tables. It only becomes a problem when half of your customers are doing it and that is so rare it is called a bad day. Bad days happen. Ask batman.

You do pay for it. I've never ordered a pizza for deliver that didn't tack on a delivery fee. Why the hell am I paying extra for delivery if that fee isn't going to the delivery driver?
