Because it's a euphemism, it's not meant to be taken literally - compare "Soccer Mom" or "Family Values". Where as those terms were typically more conservative associated, SJW refers to a similarly overbearing rules crazy moral busybody.

Furthermore, "Social Justice" is itself a euphemism for political stances that are decidedly unjust in many respects. So it's not immediately clear that people who are "anti-SJW" are "anti-justice".

I don't use the phrase "SJW" because it's immature, but I also don't like how I can vote for every anti-discrimination policy and every minority rights policy and still have there be people that consider me an enemy of "progression".

It's almost like these people are too afraid to trash talk Conservatives and instead thought white men in general were easier targets. Maybe they just don't know the difference.

With people's overall rotten levels of judgment, this is like trying to fix a ship filled with holes that's made out of rotting wood. Eventually it's just going to rot and society's going to fall apart. Success has beaten us and made us weak, evolution is dead.

The majority of the people I see using this term, myself included, are leftists annoyed at other leftists. It's not necessarily split along left/right. It's split among liberty vs authoritarianism, or perhaps people who want a nuanced discussion of the issues and people who don't.

The policies they promote often represent injustice, such as laws favoring race, laws against speech, etc. SJWs and fascists go hand-in-hand.

The term is literally rooted in the latter, not the former. It grew out of a fringe movement of hyper-advocacy over relatively minor issues. Hence why it's used to refer to people representing that same rabid mindset.

SJWism is rarely about actual equal rights and, generally speaking, virtually everybody favors equality of some sort. However, the protestors aren't so much supporting equality as they're pushing for laws which favor genders, races, sexuality, creeds, etc. And, in most cases, their laws hold some groups to higher standards than others which is about as unequal as you can get.

I use it all the time and I'm a black gay guy. I hate sjws and new age feminists

I use the term SJW sometimes but I prefer not to. The ones who throw it around like crazy are far right people and I'm tired of explaining that I don't agree with them just because I used a word they use. There's usually more precise terms anyway, like "this Antifa person did thing" or "this radical feminist is pushing for thing".
