Wow, this is a different type of Zelda. i pick up his baked apple and walk into the fire... which eventually costs me a heart. link doesn't even protest in pain, damn. i eat the baked apple to heal myself. i try to bake my apple by holding it and walking into the fire, but it's not working. <_< --- yet all sailors of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness ... thanks, i do appreciate that. my patience for exploration is not high at this point in my life!
we just skip climbing down the cliff this time and immediately start swimming.... and on the other side, i encounter a bokoblin! i slay it with the axe, which takes an astounding five strikes. i also get its weapon. hmm, the dungeon has a goddess statue, where i pray. it doesn't do anything. i eat the steak. it recovers me back to where i was before fighting those hokoblins. sigh... come across a final few hoboklins. i'm trying out their stick, which is impressively powerful - but betrays me by breaking. have to finish 'em off with the good old-fashioned axe. but now i have a sword, shield, and bow! --- yet all sailors of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness ... okay, so I clear the temple of the goddess OMAN AU. the power of magnesis is really dope, but it just results in mr. douchebag telling me that i need to make three more encounters. it takes me quite some time to spot them from my tower, but eventually i locate all three:
first is ja baij, which gives me the power of bombs. the mini-dungeon is pretty neat - i get to launch myself, and both round and cubic bombs, all over the place. the most memorable part about this dungeon is that it's guarded by this motherfucking terrifying beast. at first i think that after getting bombs, that's the answer to killing the laser beam monster! umm.... no. i actually wind up dying when i accidentally bomb myself hiding from it and the skeleton bokoblins attack me. <_< owa daim gives the power of stopping time, aka 'blowing up boulders that can't be bombed,' which, i mean, alright, that's cool, i guess. the best part was using the frozen time to do this matrix run. in order to get to it, i have to brave some cold. This is where things get ugly. I spend close to an hour trying to take all the route I can to get to Keh Namut, but I keep fucking freezing to death. I slaughter every Bokoblin I can find, hoping to get something that will warm me up. The paths between Owa Daim and Keh Namut all involve freezing, and my mind is shutting down. Finally I opt to look at the map and take the long way around. We're able to make our way to an encampment on the east bank, where I pick a bunch of peppers. Eating these, cooked, can up my cold resistance! Except I don't know how to cook. There's an obvious pan there, and a fire. But for some fucking reason I'm unable to pick up the pan and put it over the fire. So at last, after getting my ass peppered by the projectile of the Bokoblins (whom I eventually kill with bomb arrows - and am unable to rise up onto their platform to claim their spoils), I google it. Turns out you have to light a fire under the pan. A torch is conveniently nearby, so I swing it into the fire and under the pan and... PRESTO CHANGE-O! I make one concoction of one pepper, one of five (which immediately seems like a huge waste in hindsight), and one of three peppers and two mushrooms (a GIGANTIC waste). Whoops. I'm still unable to cross the freezing river, so I teleport back to Dungeon 3 and make my way up. This ice power is... extremely uncreatively used. 'Make a block of ice' well okay. Alright that catches me up let's see what this motherfucker wants me to do. --- yet all sailors of all sorts are more or less capricious and unreliable - they live in the varying outer weather, and they inhale its fickleness ... I'm enjoying your early adventuring, fun stuff.
As for advice, I'd recommend stamina over hearts. You'll eventually git gud enough at the combat that low HP won't be much of a hindrance, but low stamina will annoy the hell out of you. Cook early and often. Cooking items not only recovers HP, but it grants many types of buffs as well. Explore anywhere you like (I didn't do main missions for a while), but I do recommend tackling the first couple of main missions before too long since they lead to some good stuff. And yeah, as others have said - don't hoard your good weapons. They're all meant to be used. --- BKSheikah:The Real Deal http://i.imgur.com/gByqgPg.gif ... Copied to Clipboard!
