okay! so i'm going down this from the south side of the bridge mostly. i run into the prince on the way, which confirms i'm headed in the right direction, and discover that i can kill electric keese with the korok leaf! but i still die to one because i get careless, whoops.

crossed bridge number two, climbing up a mountain! i got killed by some lizalfos.

that electric projectile is pretty annoying! i manage to kill the projectile-shooter with arrows before taking out the rest of these dudes, and now i'm doing luto's crossing. sidon helpfully informs me 'you are pretty still far off.' dat encouragement.

i get back-attacked by a moblin but kill it easily. then i stumble upon some wizard enemy who keeps teleporting. at first i keep good track of it but... then it kills me because i can't get the camera to focus on it argh

two tablets we find - one that describes a king zora who beat the shit out of a guardian (and with a suspiciously-targetable thing behind the tablet) - and a second, part 7, which describes feats of a hylian and some armor worn by him

ne'ez yohma shrine reached! it's surrounded by fleet-lotus seeds.

the zoras i've talked to so far all suggest talking to the elderly, including one who played with link 100 years ago and is now 130... and isn't considered elderly.

and... i have no idea how to handle these rocks in the shrine for the moment. they appear to be time-freezable and not magnet-able, so i'll start with that. but i'll pick that up tomorrow or later!

also... first time trying the switch portable, and the kickstand is godawful. screen is also probably too small, i got dizzy playing it.

What problem are you having?

You don't have to complete every shrine you find, you get the fast travel point anyway...

But, I believe that's the one with giant balls getting stuck while falling down a long slope of flowing water and obstacles. I've seen a few solutions, but I believe the typical solution uses lots of ice! That is my hint.

Use ice to block things or to move things up. If you're stuck in a shrine for more than you'd like to be, just move on. The map will indicate that it isn't completed yet. I had about 8 that I had to go back with a fresh set of eyes for.

I just used stasis and a hammer to knock the ball down to the bottom of the ramp near entrance. Obviously that's on the wrong side so I just did it again to get it over to the hole. Might take a bit of trial and error if you're not used to gauging stasis shots.

The ball never actually touched the ramp with the water and lasers, mostly because I didn't think to use Cryonis at all.

I played today! Just an hour.

Spent the first twenty minutes or so struggling with the Temple. Took me a while to get the hang of using the Cryo ability and I got killed by the falling rocks a few times while trying to navigate my way. I managed to get a ball into the hole... and it turned out the be the wrong ball. The stone apparently ain't cuttin' it! So I killed myself, moseyed to the top, and used the Stasis, and managed to launch the glowing ball down. From there, I very carefully guided the ball with ice, lifted it, and delivered it to the hole. Felt real rewarding!

Then it's out to the Zora's Domain again. Characters seem to suggest sidequests without actually officially getting notated, including one who wanted me to bring an engaged couple here. Everyone here also seems to be over a hundred years old and recognizes Link, except for the Prince's fan club. (Damn, them Zora chicks be fine.) Exposition dump - the Zora Princess had a huge crush on Link (it's good to be white, man), which made the old minority Zora really jealous. She was defeated by the divine beast Ruta that's been causing the constant rain, but the armor she tailored for Link proved her affection (and will make me swim up waterfalls!) All I need to beat that dungeon is... Shock Arrows. Guarded by an OG, apparently. I've already got twelvish, but I need at least twenty, so let's go.

I make my way out of the area through the east, soaring up them waterfalls. It's exhilarating to swim upstream like that. I manage to find a few stray arrows.

And then my ass gets OHKO'd by the monster up top.

So, I actually played this last night! Looks like having the right people over actually increases the amount of time I spend on this.

First task was evading the hellacious enemy. Took me several runs up and down the slopes, dodging his homing (?!) shock arrows (going all the way down the highest waterfall), but eventually I managed to sneak past him and grab a few arrows. Ended up with twenty before getting caught and turning tail like a coward, so... hopefully I never miss?

I have to say that this enemy is the most intimidated I've been by a video game character since... probably RE4? I don't play a lot of action games.

Anyway, I retreat down the mountain and am planning on hiking it back to the Zora Domain and taking on the Divine Beast... until hey, there's a Shrine! Shiny! I go in and get my ass kicked several times by a 'Minor Test of Strength' dude. But it's not actually that hard, so I slaughter it and collect a pretty dope sword.

I continue my descent and run into a horse-riding Moblin or something. That's fine, I'm thinking, and then he shoots me with an arrow. I block it, but the arrow is on fire, and I'm entirely incinerated. WHAT. I come back for more and get incinerated again, but the third time's the charm, and I still his horse... which is solid-colored, but not really a challenge to ride? I kill another of his fire-arrow-shooting ilk (and now have five fire arrows)!

What do you know, it's a Goddess Statue! I pray and finally upgrade my Hearts. (Got seven Orbs remaining.) So I'm at 4 Hearts, 1.25 Stamina gauge.

I notice another Shrine off in the distance and mark it, but I get distracted when I see a Tower, which seems higher priority. So I head toward it and... suddenly, I'm shot by a Lizalfos skeleton and killed. I return and kill it and hear enemy music and... it's a huge, blue wolf. Pretty badass, and its meat seems to be of the highest quality.

Refocusing on the Tower, I come upon a field... I get massacred by first by lightning (twice), then by a stationary Guardian, and finally a mobile Guardian (god damn those things are intimidating). But finally I cross the field, avoiding all Guardians, and ditching my awesome Bow to avoid lightning - I see no way to be Bow-less otherwise. Once I'm over, I find another Shrine, and it's too close not to head into.

Stopped there. I'll give Shrine names when I pick this back up!
