Nothing will burn you out on playing Fallout quicker than Fallout 3's ending, Broken Steel-amended or not ^^ You have to be willing to give NV a chance, because it's a fairly slow start that builds to greater things. One thing that could possibly motivate you is that dungeons are both level and enemy-class locked - so unlike with a true Bethesda-formula game, you can go to a place, get your ass kicked, beef up, and then have the satisfaction of returning and wiping the place out. At first she is a little over powered, but she really fits into the story well, she is voice acted well and really makes my time wondering around feel less lonely. When I am Skyrim I have no found a follower like that. Heck and the first one you get even crack wish about carrying stuff for me -lol-.
