A decision's been reached. Since gravy operated under what an admin told him (even if it was only preliminary thoughts), we will be offering him the opportunity to roll back his redraft of Yuri Hyuga for Mei Ling, just this one time.

Let it be known, however, that THIS IS NOT A PRECEDENT TO TAKE PRELIMINARY THOUGHTS AS GOSPEL. We're only doing this because it hadn't been established before, but going forward, if an admin has not confirmed the ruling is finalized OR told you to assume things work a certain way if a ruling can't be reached in a timely fashion for any given reason, we will not be offering takebacks. You can ask to make a conditional decision or something else of that ilk in such situations. If you don't, then the mistake's on you for assuming and we have no sympathy for any fuckups.

And now I'm done with this mess. Gravy gets to make whatever decision he wants here, but I'm done here.

I had a real bad day. And a surprise decision just pissed me off. Mercs is fun but I have stressed myself out to out BS Boko. So I just won't do it. It caused me to really hate Mercs 4 playoffs and yeah not re doing it! Also sorry for being a jerk to you redrocket you didn't deserve me calling you a name.

I will certainly play the week out. And I'll try to find fun somehow. Maybe I will do a massive redraft I dont know. Ramza is calling to me.

There kinda isn't a point to making it last a week when people have 5 picks tops. It's not like there's gonna be HOTTTT BIDDING ACTION or whatever. If people wants a break I can run a for-fun opt-in event that week, but the redraft window being extended just kills the game's momentum entirely.

Well I would rather not have a ruling debacle happen once again. I take partial fault: I sincerely had no intention of redrafting until a few hours into it. Otherwise I would have gotten advance word on it as I presume you would know. I thought mercs went into the void so I was kinda like... well if I didn't draft them the first time then why do it now.

To try and streamline this a bit I'm probably going to post all the "unpublished" rulings from M4, which were kept secret to protect counterplaying, on the wiki this week under the appropriate mercs (or maybe a separate page with a ruling dump), as it no longer makes sense to keep them unpublished. I'm getting tired of being asked "was this a ruling in M4" and it would make things easier on both me and Kanzaris in general.

I've never made solo rulings. If I give an immediate answer with authority it's because the rules are very clear and the player who asked just missed something (so no need to 'rule', things are working as intended). Anytime a rule is even slightly in question, I consult with trdl or check if there's an M4 precedent.

A 'ruling dump' page would be terrific. Just having all the rulings in one place means people can always go ahead and verify if there's any relevant rulings more easily - otherwise you get stuff like a question Skyridge asked me about what worked through Protester Power whose answer was on Morrigan's page.

No i disbanded because he is playing favorites. Made a ruling alrdy. And cuz someone stomped his feet and whined he reversed his ruling like a lil bitch. Lack of backbone and would not have been done if not gravy or a few others.

Very easy to connect how ANY merc drafted after the one in question of gravys foot stomping complaint could have been affected by what he did. The fact Kanz is telling one leader to quit while simultaneous reversing another ruling cuz a leader is quitting which he went in depth on why he wasn't reversing it speaks volumes.

I actually foot stomped very little. If you want to see vintage gravy rules bitching I would suggest you ask Lopen and eddv about Ridley in the playoffs!
