It's a bit different yes. Event mercs are draftable and as a consequence selectable for Zuma. Similarly, Wily is special because his 'open bidding' RM acquisition mode lets his owner (and only his owner) acquire new permanent mercs if he wins the bid, which no other merc allows. It's a pretty minor change in the grand scheme of things, but it's worth explaining how it all works.
