Why do they mock virgins when of I am not Brad Pitt so I do not get how being a 24 year old virgin is such a big deal or a shock. One look at me and you can tell I am a virgin.

I can't say why they find it so amusing, if anything I've noticed older women (35-45+) get very interested in virgins and enjoy being their first/breaking in some fresh meat so that might be a good place for you to start?

How would anyone know you are a virgin anyway unless you volunteer that information? It's not like there is any actual way to tell. And if you are so keen on volunteering information like this, wouldn't it be worse to say that you had sex with prostitutes?

The problem is that it's natural for a 15 or 16 y/o to be a virgin, it's less natural for a 24 y/o. I can see guys at that age being treated a little oddly.
