Scott and Amber Gray from Pennsylvania are rebuilding their family home after Destroying EVERYTHING they own and throwing it all because of a SKUNK that sprayed it's pollutant into their home leaving a foul spray!!

They said they were forced out in October because it was so soaked in odour..

They were at a Halloween party with their kids, 10 y/o Aidan and 9 y/o Addison one night and returned home to find a rogue skunk running around..Scott tried to trap it but couldn't catch it and finally had to call an exterminator.

And hour and a half later, they got the skunk which had gotten into their home through a dog door..but all of that running caused the skunk to leave an intolerable smell which they said smelled like "rotten onions mixed with sewagee, burned rubber and skunk spray"

Now they're fundraising after having to strip everything they owned and start all over..and they said they could even smell the rotten stentch a mile and a half way!!

He said "When i opened the dor, it felt like my eyes were on fire. It was so immense. Absolutely everything is ruined..Things you wouldln't even think would be were"

The spray soaked into the walls, carpets, clothes and even their big flat TV rendering the house unlivable..

They said when they turned on the TV on, the heat from the electricity burned the oil from its spray and emitted the smell like a candle..

They had to live in a rented furnished apt a week later as an insurance surveyor said the damage wa equivalent of that in a FIRE..they were given no money to cover the cost of the destruction even hough they were on State Farm polcy.

The family is going to rebuild themselves with the help of friends and well wishers as it'll cost 70,000 in repairs..

He and his wife have no clothes as they priortized buying new wardrobes for their children to school to wear instead..

They are hosting a free spaghetti dinner on July 8 th to raise money in hopes that people can donate via gift cads from Home Depot or Loews.

GoFundMe generally subsidizes stupidity. While I'm sure there was a smell, there were plenty of less-drastic, less expensive fixes.

A lot of their problems seemed to be from effects following the skunk's spray, more than the smell itself and that they didn;t get to it in a reasonable timeframe. Material etc. could be hit and miss but anything else could have been cleaned.
The gofundme is crap, they should be relying on their insurance and if they weren't insured, too bad, suck it up.
