League offers pretty cool mercs, it's just that like, the admins have to actually pay attention to what the mercs are really like instead of being asleep at the wheel. >_>

Supplemental materials directly included into the writeup (example: Advent Children Complete for Cloud Strife and Sephiroth) are indisputably valid.

And that definitely contradicts how he's portrayed in game.

That's not what that convention means. Starcraft marines don't have a range of 20 meters just because space is abstracted in their game nor are Ultralisks like three meters tall and two people wide at best. That refers to like, actual contradictions, like when a side material says 'this character can fly' and the character says in dialog 'I can't fly' in-game or whatever.

The issue is that it's not really supplementary material rather than "the character's actual lore".

Well, it seems like the game blatantly contradicts itself, when sometimes he's three meters tall and sometimes he's the size of a mountain.

When there's a contradiction like this I generally prefer to pick the actual in-combat showings, since it's in line with how he actually fights; but if it's in-game lore then I can't really fault anyone for picking the other version.

For those who do not believe in Sion then here are a few things that Team Alucard has up its sleeve.

-Alucard canonically has invis-seeing glasses (you can't exactly access the Inverse Castle without 'em). Any sort of phasewalking or strafing attempts by Lilith are gonna be picked out.

-Diablo's roar shatters the gates of heaven (this has been posted many, many times but I'll do it again on request). An avalanche from Diablo is almost guaranteed, and a rockslide of that side over the Mako Reactor would cause absolutely brutal damage. From there, Archer is basically isolated.

-Due to Gravity Boots, Alucard's vertical mobility is by far the best here.

-Sion auto-revives upon death by default with a 50% movement buff. This is just built into him and not some weird auto-revive clause; it's his natural trait.

-Sion can create a massive shield of souls that absorbs all damage at him. If he's MEGA KAIJU big, that shields literally everyone. If he's Giant Gonzales big, that completely shields Nier, who can still do by far the most damage out of anyone here.

-Roar of the Slayer automatically causes slow as well as lowers defense by 20%. "Archer dodges forever" seems incredibly unlikely when the following mercs have AoE slow/movement inhibiting techniques that all stack:

Sion
Dr. Wily
Air Man

-This is a mountain. Spearman can fortify on it. And he has a motorcycle. Literally unhittable.

Okay so Sion just throws people and instead of being giant Diablo still teleports in and sweeps because I don't get the point where you beat him quickly.

Like it's a 15+ minute fight with MAGICAL LASER BEAMS at the most optimized of times. He's not even gonna get stalled by Cloud, Lilith, and Subby on his way to Archer, especially not with the AoE slows coming all around from Sion and Wily.

Nah, nautilus is house sized (and we've seen this in cutscene), Cho is like 'too big' and Malph is like eight stories tall. And then Galio is a colossus too.

This match is hard. The only person I really respect on Lilith's team is Archer and Cloud.

But Archer is effectively neutered. Which makes it hard to judge. With Archer limited to melee against so many opponents though makes it hard to decide, he has been in melee against Berserker for extensive periods for several of his lives.

Although this is a valid feat of melee, I feel the gang-up can overcome it. So, Nier

He's not just limited to melee.

No, he couldn't. That's a feat for Medea. Like it's part of her pedigree as caster that she could reinforce Kuzuki, because it's much harder to reinforce (other) people than objects.

You can just look at the default splash art I posted on page 1 really - there's literally a house right beside him to compare him to. It's why my mind defaulted to 'Sion's enormous', because otherwise it doesn't make sense that his rival in the latest lore is a mindbogglingly big stone colossus.

he could, however, reinforce lilith's guns, bullets, and everything on cloud. it should be possible for him to, say, reinforce cloud's clothes beyond just whatever materia he's got.

none of this is an attack on diablo's team, therefore none of this would be missed. you'd basically just have a super tanky, super powerful cloud by virtue of a much more powerful weapon and much more durable "armor." speed is something he can't really do much to but not sure how much he needs to - that's the biggest thing cloud has going for him.

There's... unfortunately just not really a point where Archer would realize "oh yeah, instead of routing literally everyone easy, I should be playing support". Going in with the idea that he should play support is a BIT more meta than I'm willing to believe when he's, by far, the strongest guy on the team.

uh... well yeah, considering it'd take them a long, long time for them to get where the other side's at. i assume archer can carry lilith to the top of the reactor so she'd have a bird's eye view of them when they get on the bridge. archer would notice something is wrong when he can't kill a stationary person encased in a block of ice and would probably assume he's cursed or something. fortunately he's got a fellow sniper on the team and hey, they got a good position for anyone who can get up there. so really, that's the main chokepoint the match has i think - lilith sniping people off as they cross on a bridge.


the initial "HERE'S GODZILLA" stuff ain't valid anymore but papa nier is pretty damn good in his own right. air man still has utility against getting sniped as well, any significant wind change means significantly different results, which could be a strong counter to lilith after she shoots the spearman on a motorcycle who let's face it, is the... pointman.

My main thing is also still the issue of terraforming. Diablo and Wily both have excellent tools in both the roar and the Super Arm to take out very large pieces of the map, not to mention that Wily's pretty much exclusively a support platform in this form with Time Slow and Ice Slasher. If a sniper position is found, it only takes Diablo focusing on it to compromise the structure of it.

right. though your side is generally weaker, even with a neutered archer, it's not like the utility, numbers, and combat worth is bad. Alucard is still a good unit, Wily/Air still offer support, Cut/Spear offer bodies, one of which is probably the first to get shot at that, Diablo and Nier still have good combat worth.

but i'd sooner assume most of the fight takes place with the bridge in mind. Cloud can be on his side, Lilith and Archer on top.

if there's any issue, he could also just plain cut the bridge off. ability wording does say it's only attacks on the team he'll miss, so attacks on, say, the terrain... like a bridge they haven't reached... would still be accurate.


which would pose a different issue: if the bridge is cut off, who can attack lilith?

If the question isn't rhetorical, Diablo, Alucard, and Wily would all have means of traversing the chasm, with Diablo being a non-issue due to teleporting. Worst comes to worst and it's a pure sniper battle, Nier can close Dark Wall around himself as an anti-personal shield, and Dark Hands can make for excellent bridges or catapults (he can charge them for quite some time).

Also with X-Death as a time sink (I don't see him going down in, say, sub-20 seconds even with decay just due to the guy's huge HP pool), I'm not positive that a well-meditated plan from Archer would be possible. The element of surprise is a big psychological weapon that X-Death's frozen corpse possesses.

Also you know you want to believe in Spearman and Cut Man jumping the gorge on a motorcycle and there being a forfeit out of sheer respect.

Note also that Lilith can't kill Sion without killing herself either. Thornmail op and she fits the ADC mold very nicely. It's a shame he doesn't get item actives cus standard Sion build is Randuin's Spirits vis, Warmogs, Titanic Hydra, Thornmail and tabis. He doesn't need merc treads in general cus his ult is impervious to cc.
