Wow, I wasn't expecting that to be the first Ultra Beast to be kicked out. I thought it'd be Guzzlord for sure, even factoring in the Dark typing (which is one of the most popular types). After all, we kicked out 2 Dark types in the bottom 2.

I bet Guzzlord has at least 2 top 10s (and probably even more), which might have been the difference maker for placing it above Celesteela. lefty probably has Guzzlord in his top 10.

Damn, celesteela is probably my favorite of the ultra beasts. The arm cannons that float freely off it are really cool, I can just imagine it spinning them around.

It's not really a unique typing because of Skarmory. Although the typing is unique for a legendary.

The verdict is still out on whether the Ultra Beasts are even considered legendaries. The game code has them grouped into the same category of Pokemon that includes stuff like Articuno and Suicune, but the game itself does not refer to them as legendaries during the story or the post-game where you have to catch the Ultra Beasts.

Type: Null and Silvally are considered legendaries in the game code, but I bet even fewer people would consider them legendaries compared to the Ultra Beasts.

Okay never mind. One of the ones I thought was below Celesteela was actually barely above. So still bad, but I do have Celesteela as 2nd worst of the bunch.

Like I said earlier a significant influence on my rankings is how the pokemon behave in Random Battles, and both Celesteela and (list spoilers?) Guzzlord are just really boring attackers that don't do much damage and have some bulk, which is pretty much the most boring type of pokemon possible. Celesteela at least has some interesting stuff it can do with Automatize, so I'm actually a bit surprised I didn't rank it slightly higher than I did. Maybe it should have been in the 80-85 range? I don't know though ranking 60-90 was just really hard for me throughout.

I really liked most of the UBs - almost all of them are usable in VGC (except guzzlord, poor guy)

StifledSilence: Cute little donkey thing.

Luster Soldier: This is one Pokemon that I caught for my in-game playthrough because of the really good Stamina ability. I was quite surprised to find out this Pokemon has base 100 attack, which is extremely high for the lowest possible stage in any evolutionary line. The attack stat being that high makes Mudbray a really good choice for playing through the game.

Raka_Putra: What the heck.

Paratroopa1: OH GOD ITS MOUTH jesus fuck why does it look like that oops well time to never feed you again. I like its weird goat eyes though

Cybat: It's just a donkey, but amusingly it's only about three feet tall. "High Horsepower" is a silly name for a move, especially when it's just a mostly worse Earthquake.

hotdogturtle: I can still hear its cry in my head from how common they are in the game, especially on the breeding route.

ctes: Not sold on this at all. It's pretty lame, really. It's not that it's just horrific or anything, but it looks pretty bad, what's with those eyes?

One thing I forgot to say in my writeup: Mudbray to me looks like they designed Mudsdale first, then they decided that it was too big (and flavorwise, too heavy) to be a single stage Pokemon that existed on its own. So they designed some weird mini version of it as a first stage.

Luster Soldier: Originally revealed as this generation's Pikachu clone, Togedemaru had less than 2 weeks to be discussed among the fans before the reveal of Mimikyu. Poor Togedemaru, it was revealed as the Pikachu clone, but finds itself very much overshadowed by Mimikyu instead. Mimikyu not having the Electric type that is typical for the other Pikachu clones helped set it apart from Togedemaru, in addition to possessing the unique Ghost/Fairy typing. Despite being mostly forgotten among fans, I prefer Togedemaru more than Mimikyu because it's cuter.

mnkboy907: What do you know? A pikaclone that's actually good. What a troll move to make a nice 80 BP physical Electric attack and make it exclusive to this guy, though.

OrangeCrush: This guy would've been okay if he was in most other gens. But he made the mistake of being a fairly standard Pikachu clone in the same gen as Mimikyu and Aloha Raichu.

PrinceKaro: The epidemic of morbid obesity strikes hard even in the pikaclone community.

ctes: I am dead tired of Pikachu clones every generation. It's not like Pikachu is not there each time as well, gen V being the exception, but it had Emolga, we really needed Pikachu there. Seriously though, it's the same worthless Pokemon every generation. Completely good for nothing, and they insist on making it. That they've started giving it secondary typings doesn't make up for it, particularly not when they're still all f***ing electric. Worth thing about them is that not a single one of the Pikachu clones can evolve, if you count Pichu then it can, but evolving into Pikachu itself makes it a moot point. Why do we need a new clone every generation that is just there to look fail at being a mascot and not evolve into something that is nice to use? Either they should be good themselves, or they should evolve into something good. Otherwise, the best option is to not have them. In itself, Togedemaru is a decent Pokemon, but it's not particuarly noteworthy.

Inviso: I WANTED to like this, but it learns like, NO decent attacks. Come the fuck on, man.

Cybat: I can't decide if this name is terrible or genius. It's funny to see another Wobbuffet type but sadly the design on this one is much less interesting.

PrinceKaro: If there's one thing the world of pokemon certainly doesn’t have enough of, it is creatures that look like anuses.

Inviso: It's like Wobbuffet, but the anime isn't relevant enough to me to find it amusing, if it's even a major character in the show.

Luster Soldier: This Pokemon is pretty much the Magikarp of the Alola region, a joke Pokemon in a sense. Before the release of Sun/Moon, there were people who were thinking of using Pyukumuku on their in-game team, but that idea came to a halt when it was discovered Pyukumuku has no direct attacking moves other than Counter and Bide (not counting Z-Moves). So this Pokemon was basically another Wobbuffet in that sense. There's also a small mini-game within the game where you can toss Pyukumuku back into the ocean for cash (can be done daily). Let's start by looking at it and agree that it looks ridulously awful and that they really didn't have anything to come up when they wanted to make this small pile of trash. And why exactly did we need another f***ing gimmick like this? It's seriously awful. I don't understand what in the world they were thinking. It can be almost completely shut down by taunt no matter what it runs. It learns counter, but it doesn't even freakin' get mirrot coat which is beyond stupid. It's job appears to be to stall, but as someone who plays stall, I'd never consider using this garbage, it's not any good at all. They really made up too much s*** this gen.
