Did a quick BS sketch of the pose in the pic.

I realize it is crooked, and I messed up on the hair but this is the basic idea.

O6e0z8H

This is more or less what I wanted to do, and I spent a lot less time on it.

uAXaYa7

Which I like a lot better, but her left arm should be up more which I have in a note and I need to work on the hair from the side view.

And if any of you couldn't tell I'm feeling a lot better :).
Which one would you prefer if I were to do a finished one? @Kaname_Madoka

I think here, the legs could turn a bit more to match the perspective of the upper body. If you want to draw her facing a bit outward, the upper body would also have to tilt a bit forward. The best thing to do would be to lightly draw an oval (ribcage), a short cylinder emanating from the bottom, and a connection to a box (pelvis). From there, you can draw the box facing in the angle you want to and the ribcage will more easily be connected to it in the correct perspective.

I was doing the box thing for the previous sketches..I went through about 8 pages before I got to this point.

If you do it from the total side her pelvic box would basically be a square..yeah.

The second one because that's the one you prefer

Are you okay with the upskirt or do you want that gone?

I don't like the upskirt tbh

Cool.

My HB pencil is really dull. I think I'm going to try and get a brush pen before I ink because my multiliner is very scratchy in the dark areas.

What is your ultimate goal in art? Which style or styles do you want to become most adept in? What types of images or scenes do you want to draw?

I know you said you find realistic boring, did you mainly want to do a cartoony style?

I can try to find resources that can best help. For drawing from imagination though, I think that mastering the ability to draw spheres, cylinders, boxes, and cones in perspective will make your drawings look more solid. I've seen studies where they combine them into one structure, which look like sort of a short-cut:

Honestly to enjoy it again.

Maybe get to the point where I can do comissions, but it's just a hobby.

Long time ago I wanted to finish my Bachelors work and move up to Seattle and work my way up to being an artist at Wizards of The Coast, but that's a pipe dream lol.

I feel like I've progressed just in this topic, but it honestly has more to do with my mental well being.

I want to be able to draw decently consistently without having to deal with blockage, but I'm not sure if that's a possibility in my case.

Spurts of energy/no energy at all.

Complete indifference to everything I do/completely enjoying and loving it.

I want to be able to draw during all these instances. I'm pretty mellow right now I would like to say.

A lot of things barring medication.

Eating (when I'm depressed I won't eat anything all day).
Exercise.
Sleep.
Limiting media.

CE is starting to annoy me especially with the emoji update. Been playing basketball with my roomate 2-3 times a week. Hanging out with a girl tomorrow and having lunch. I'm in a good place right now, and when I'm not I'm shitposting on CE all day.

Trying to avoid it in general. Only saw this because I was going to google and it came up with gamefaqs.

@Vol2tex

Think I'm gonna scrap this. The initial sketch would make a really cool line art, but I screwed up on the pencil. I want her right arm out more like she's raining fire, her head tilted in the direction of the arm, and maybe her left arm would have to be forshortened?

Your gestures have improved significantly in my opinion. The initial sketch did seem more energetic and possessed better proportions though. In the final drawing, I think the neck area needs more clarity, it is hard to determine the details. The feet likewise. The head should also be bigger, and her right eye should move slightly more towards the nose while the left eye should be higher. The contour of her left breast looks like it continues towards the arm. Her legs are also facing straight, but she's close to 3/4 perspective so her legs should turn in that direction more to match the rest of her body.

I would also try to draw the legs in a more visually interesting position. They are both straight, perhaps her left one could bend a bit forward at the knee?

Yeah I scrapped it.

Looked up some stuff online, and did a couple more sketches but the most problematic area is the hair flow. It looks so flowy in my sketch, but when I ink it it's too choppy or the hair is too high. I was thinking of doing a knee bent. I'll have tot tackle it tomorrow. Getting sleepy, and I'm only going to be posting in this thread.

Start of sketch

c6oyQER

Stopped inking it because her hair and arm were bugging the fuck out of me.

VQZNbb9

Did an alt pose but I don't like it either..

I noticed some of her appeal is she seems incredibly elongated. In The legs and arms, and she has a thin waist with huge breasts. Trying to do a more western style with some of these sketches, but it's not working exactly well.

AwHSPY8

Too big in this one, and I'm not happy with the hands..and that should probably be at a 3/4 view as well. And I really need to move my laptop when I'm drawing because right now it's to the right of my laptop, and I think that is screwing with the proportions.

Want to do something in style with MvC3 Phoenix.

I think I need a better flowing brush pen if I want to do large areas of black, and it strains my fine tip pen so much.

I think we've talked about this before.

Animation wise: Hao Miyazaki, Joseph Lee for for western comic (Batman Hush specifically), Disney Rennaisance.
Classical wise: Reubens, Caravaggio.
Modern: Duchamp, Pollock.
Pop: Litchenstein, Warhol.

It's undeliverable for some reason :/.

Any good replacements for Copic Multiliner SP @Vol2tex? Ebay will take a week for the pen I want, the big art stores don't have them. Best I can do is all pencil or get a fine point sharpie, but those bleed.

Fucking pissed. I just ordered ink and a nib on ebay for $10 should be here in 6 days. From the same seller, so I'm hoping they can combine shipping.

I'll do some pencil sketches in the meantime and I'll ink the best when it comes.

6 days is a long time but I hope you'll be satisfied with it. I haven't done much in the way of inking.

It's the current ones I use.

https://www.amazon.com/Copic-Multiliner-Sp-Set-4-Black/dp/B006MO2BVO/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1508215088&sr=8-8&keywords=copic+multiliner+set

They go out of stock and the prices rise up like crazy around the holidays. Got this set and it was $15 a couple years back. I still have the other sizes but it's a bitch to replace every nib and cartridge.

It costs $13 for a new pen, and you can get the ink and nib for $10 or so.

$34 for 4 ink pens seems like a lot, how long might a typical one last?

Maybe 3 months or so.

The Sakura micron pens aren't bad ink wise, but they leak very easily. The casing around them isn't as sturdy since they're disposable, and when you get a leak it's pretty much rendered useless.

Literally can't draw digitally.

Figure sketch

Dj5n4vt

Can't get it as flowy as my sketch...best I got it.

I adjusted the neck after the figure sketch after that.

Another version can't get the face right.

I think with the skirt it needs to be thin as hell, and I think I have to have an upskirt if I want any flow to it,,

Did a quick fix shortened the skirt and made her legs longer...

Put her eyes in.

Need to clean up some of the hair and put her shoes in, and then I'm probably going to draw in the monster in a new drawing and transfer the line art.
