Y'shtola, Shulk and Kefka have challenged Dark Samus to a fight! Location of the fight: Prison Terrace - The terrace of Prison Island as seen during the first visit to Prison Island. Access to the rest of Eryth Sea is not allowed, and Zanza/NPCs are not present. The interior of Prison Island cannot be accessed, though the immediate surrounding skies are accessible. Attackers will start at the bottom of the terrace, with defenders starting at the top of the steps. Which side will win?

Guidelines
- The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment.
- The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle.
- "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, *not* Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion.
- There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from.

Dark Samus is as she appears in her boss fight in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, although she cannot turn invincible, turn incorporeal or heal off of phazon.

~VS~

Y'shtola Rhul is as seen in Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward, with all the skills and traits of a Level 60 White Mage, including Raise. She also has the cross-class skills of Arcanist and Thaumaturge, and her Bravery/HP attacks from Dissidia. She cannot use Flow or Repose.

Shulk is as he appears in Xenoblade Chronicles, with all arts and skill trees learned and fully upgraded. He is equipped with the Monado II and Glory set of armour. Shulk also has access to his Super Smash Bros 4. version of Monado Arts, though they only affect him and have their drawbacks as well.

Kefka is as he appears in FF6A in the last battle, having access to all attacks and skills from the fight aside from Trine and Heartless Angel. He additionally has all his Brave and HP attacks from Dissidia: Final Fantasy, as well as the Exhilarating Magic skill.

Smallish terrain. Dark Samus starts at the bottom of the steps, Shulk/Kefka/Ysh at top. Since it's an open air terrain, Kefka can use his flying to his advantage and stay out of Dark Samus' range with help from Shulk's visions. Shulk has nice buffs (speed/armor/shield) and Y'shtola has plenty of cure bombs (Benediction/Tetragrammation), buffs (Stoneskin, Protect/Shell), and insta-cast Raise if needed. She also has the Stone line of spells to inflict the Heavy (aka Slow) status as well as Fluid Aura (temporary binding). Shulk has range in form of Monado Purge which slows down a Telethia (https://youtu.be/wZ84UWORgG8?t=176) as well as his Monado having a huge ass reach as it is.

With Y'shtola's disruption/support and Shulk's foresight, Kefka and Shulk's Monado have plenty of firepower to down D. Samus.

Gravy, Dark Samus can fly and quite proficiently too.

so she can from whatever cutscene is cited but she doesn't show any combat during it so i don't know why she'd think "oh i better fly around"

If Kefka dies, Damus massacres the other two. Question is, does Kefka with buffz beat Damus? I'm honestly not sure.

Not only can Dark Samus fly, but the terrain write-up says that the skies are accessible! Those skies probably leave her well out of range of shulks "projectile feats."

She also has her clones to turn the fight in the skies against Kefka in her favor.

Yeah thinking about it, Dark Samus so far. Like this very easily goes out of Y'shtola and Shulk's reach, knowing Kefka. Dude is not the most level-headead omnicidal maniac ever, and while Shulk can use his monado buffs on him, Damus is a really tough customer. I think she does dunk him, and afterward's the rest is an easy sweep.

Did you know that it takes basically hypermode Samus a half hour to kill Damus in this very boss fight that she appears in? Merc is a certified tank and is fast as hell while flying. Kefka is going to have to be nuking for a while here, buffs wear off, Damus wins.

So yeah if this was against a more calculated fighter, they could take advantage of Ysh and Shulk. But this is dancing mad, spell slanging Kefka who is gonna be in the skies vs Damus in a solo 1v1.

She'll get him eventually and then make easy work of the others.

Nnnnot really?

Dark Samus is a super being made of phazon in a suit. But the suit is also made out of phazon. And she can repair the suit with phazon.

So it's pretty weird.

Metroid Prime 2. One of her attacks is to fly up and shoot you with a bigass Laser Beam. There's also a section of the MP3 bossfight where she and all her clones rise up into the air to attack too, IIRC.

I mean she is as she appears in the MP3 boss fight so from that I take it that her attacks are limited to this. And yes she can fly and do an attack, staying stationary for several moments. She also has a ground pound move.

I mean, I guess. My main issue with VS Kefka is that Damus can infinitely spawn clones that explode on death and by their very presence basically inflict megaphazon poison.

She can basically kite 24/7 with minimal offensive effort while her clones continually suicide onto Kefka. If Y'sholta can heal at such a range then it's just a matter of "When she does she run out of MP" or "When does Kefka get further insane'd by Phazon and controlled by Damus".

Sounds like a pretty disingenuous argument to make that Dark Samus suicide bombs when none of this really ever happens in the game and it's just some ideal strategy she comes up with because "???" despite Shulk seeing the future and being able to ward off party member deaths with timely speed boosts and shields.

But then again Alany thought Lu Bu went across a terrain in 30 seconds and on a horse up several flights of stairs so I guess this is probably a moot point.

She can't. As noted FF14 scholar greengravy294 will note and agree with me, Y'sh's spells are limited to 30 yalms, about comparable to yards. So once the fight is over 30 meters above the ground, Y'shtola Rhul is more like Y'shtola RIP Your Contributions.

And Damus can tank tons of Damus. Plus, Kekfa is going to have to select a target versus the 2 clones and the real( (and probably invisible) Damus. Kefka is gonna have to go toe to toe with a likely invisible opponent with clones that is tanky af
