Back on sale are Rib eye steaks for 4.77 and boneless skinless chicken breasts/thighs for 1.77, along with the special (in some locations) where you get 10% off if you spend $50, 15% if you spend 100$ and 20% off if you spend $150 or more.

In addition they have buy one get one 50% off on 18 packs of budweiser beer (not my favorite, but cheap), and they also have buy one get one free on Beef Ballpark Hotdogs (so with 20% off on top of that it's a good time to stock up).

Many types of soda are also on sale, especially 2 litter bottles (most are $1...half off), and they are selling 4 12 packs for $10 ($2.50 each). With 20% off on top that is $2.00 per 12 pack of soda, better deal then usual (although the buy 2 get 4 free specials are good, that is 6 total for $13...so still more then $2.00 each)

Safeways have different sales per location, prices, and not all will have the 20% off total order, so check and make sure before shopping. Still, makes sense most will have similar deals for the 4th.

This has been Wolfy's monthly grocery specials report. Please resume your regularly scheduled shenanigans.

I noticed old people check circular ads routinely for deals.

I personally dont bother and just go shopping.

I've always checked even in my 20's, as it can save a ton of money. Of course back then I was shopping for 4, and I also have always been the cook.

Depending on how much you spend on groceries you can save as much as you make in a day of work, in about an hour, so it's totally worth it.

I rarely leave with less then 40% off my entire bill, and next week it'll probably be around 60-70%. I'll get about $200 of groceries probably, and only pay maybe $80 total. $120 savings because I spent 15 minutes looking up deals and adding coupons to my just 4 U (I don't have to use them in line, they are on my card already).....seems good to me. That's a good $480 an hour.....so yeah...seems worth it to me.

Btw, the adds are all online, in fact the circular adds don't come out till tomorrow, but Safeway releases them a day early (on Tuesday) online. Just 4 you is also just online, so it's all fast and easy. No more cutting coupons (although those are still out there), you can save a large amount just by shopping based on what is on sale, and paying attention to deals like the 20% off if you spend $150 or more.

That one is actually my favorite as you don't need to spend under a certain amount to save the most (Spend $50 and get $10 off means you need to shop in 50 dollar increments, often going into the store 3-4 times in one week!!).

With 20% off your whole order, just stock up on everything that is having a great sale and don't worry about how much it costs total. I've spend almost $400 a few times during those sales (only actually paid about 160$ though).

I once got $687 worth of groceries from safeway for $182. Didn't use any clipped coupons, just went with the buy one get one frees, and a bunch of other really good deals, then got the 20% off and a very full freezer hehe.
