Still not as bad as Giovanni/Geovany Soto. I can never remember which one is the one who won the RoY for the Cubs and then sucked. Apparently both are now with the White Sox organization. I hope some day we can see Giovanni Soto get caught by Geovany Soto, preferably on a day where they play three Garcias in the outfield

Like any Nintendo console for the past few generations, I think the approach should be to get it if you want something to play Nintendo games.

Of course, the big advantage it has over past generations is offering both a Zelda and Mario in the launch year. That's much better than having only one of the two, or just the promise of them like the Wii U (which it only kind of delivered on).

I know you're not a huge Nintendo fan, though, so it's ultimately up to you to decide if you think their IPs are worth getting a Switch.

I just ordered one and mario kart and zelta off amazon. And of course, the games will be here a day before the console

It's just a cool console with a few good games right now. I like it. The handheld mode is so nice. If you keep an open mind you'll like Zelda too. Try not to let the hype affect your playthrough

Pokémon could be so good but I'm a little skeptical that it'll meet its potential on the first go on console. I wouldn't be that surprised if they went somewhat open world with it after their bold new directions for Zelda and Mario but the real prize would be if they had mons appearing in the overworld / no loading between walking around and a battle

When is the Pokemon game supposed to come out? I'm actually kind of interested but I want to get me feet wet with some of the earlier games in the series

At the E3 thing all they said was like "it might be more than a year from now before it comes out."

My phone isn't powerful enough. I could just buy several Pokemon games for what it would take me to get a decent enough phone. And touchscreen controls suck for most games

I think they only have the first gen on 3DS but they're adding gen 2 this year.

any phone that isn't from like 2004 can play up to GBA games just fine. and for a turn based RPG like pokemon, the touchscreen controls actually work pretty good. But to each their own.

I was at this bar which was showing BIG3 games, which I hadn't heard about. It was actually pretty entertaining. It's this new 3v3 half court basketball league, which features some former NBA greats, among other players. It also has a 4 point show and different rules/timers, which I thought was kinda neat. I think my favorite team is the Ghost Ballers, which is a sweet team name.

It sounded cool to me but then I heard that the first day everybody looked old and terrible and a bunch of people got injured because they were old. Is the basketball actually fun, or just the nostalgia?

Weirdly I was also at a bar yesterday that was playing a Big 3 game. I had never heard of it before. To me they all looked really slow and bad.

I was following BIG3 before it launched, looking at the articles about their jersey designs and the team compositions and stuff. Anyway, the team names mostly suck because 5 or 6 of the 8 teams have 3 incorporated in their name somehow so Ghost Ballers is automatically the best team. That, and Sacramento legend Mike Bibby is the captain of that team.

My favorite team is Power. Power would still be a funny name if they were like the San Diego Power but since it's just Power it's way funnier

I have a super old Logitech PC gamepad I haven't used in probably ten years and tonight I was trying to use it to play Life Is Strange. It seems like it's in great shape and the computer instantly recognized it, but the left analog stick only works in the menus and the d-pad has up and down reversed. PC gaming is fuckin weird.

Get an Xbox controller like everybody else you nerd

If a PC game requires a controller to be played well, I pretty much don't want to play it on a PC. They're good for stuff with a lot of menus and precision selecting, but otherwise I'll take consoles any day

It's pretty simple to connect a PS3 or PS4 controller to PC after you download a small program that will help recognize and set it up. Google will give you the specifics.
