This is the finals of the Super Grade Junior Heavyweight Tag League. Benoit beat Sasuke at The Super J Cup earlier this year, and then he and Otani pick up this win as well

Here is what the whole tournament looked like -

As you can see, Eddie and Sasuke beat them in the first match at the start of the tour, and then Benoit and Otani beat them in the fianls (It's round robin, they had the most points so go to the finals), so they had a rubber match latter in the year, but I don't think they got to it

I know all about New Japan, lol. I was getting VHS tapes in 1988 of shows from Japan. It was just after I turned 18 in 2001, I had to fend for myself and couldn't afford to keep up-to-date, and then, let's be honest, New Japan went to pure shit for a few years.

I did get back into it a bit with the New Japan vs All Japan storyline when Muta went to All Japan to help them out and won The Triple Crown, but then I got out of it again.

Wrestle Kingdom 9 if I had to pick one recent thing, but I had been watching a lot before that as well, just what I could find on YouTube. Then my credit union wouldn't let me buy New Japan World, but now I've fixed that with PayPal, so now I'm in

But yeah, it wasn't until I watched WK9 that I would watch every show I could find, and not just looking for good matches.

And not just New Japan. I love(ed) All Japan and All Japan Women. I don't like the death match shit and never got into WAR, but I liked Michinoku Pro.

Okay, so I think I've found the match you're telling me about, but it says it's 2007, is that right? I'm not seeing it on here. Cagematch.net is saying it's from the New Japan Cup in 2007, but I don't see that show at all. I wish it was easier to navigate.

If you're still on a NJPW binge, go find Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Brock Lesnar (yes, that was actually a thing) for the IWGP Heavyweight title from 2006. It's a fairly short match for a Tokyo Dome main event, but it shows off the best of both men involved: Nakamura being a scrappy underdog face, and Lesnar being a dominant freak of nature. IWGP Champion Brock Lesnar vs. TNA Champion Kurt Angle (for the IWGP title, Lesnar's last match in NJPW) is also pretty good, though some would argue not as good as their prior Wrestlemania matchup.

Also, go watch Lucha Underground already!
