Location of the fight: The Song's Arena - A tranquil, peaceful battleground, perfect for tragic bloodshed, as seen during the battle with The Song in Furi. Attackers and defenders will start at The Stranger and The Song's initial positions, respectively. The ground will be largely covered in weaponry, inhibiting movement as well as being usable if a merc is so inclined.. Which side will win? Guidelines - The fight will occur in real-time (like an FMV sequence). Gameplay mechanics are less important than how the characters would function in a real-time environment. - The members of each team are ideal teammates capable of a pre-selected plan of battle. - "Broken" refers to a lot of things, including insta-death, auto-effects, a variety of status effects (e.g., Imp, Silence, Stop, not Poison), and revival. Unless stated otherwise, nobody has them, though do use your own discretion. - There may be SPOILERS from all of the games the characters are from. Her immunity to firearms is intact and she starts the battle with her railgun fully charged. Earthworm Jim is as powerful and GROOVY as he is depicted in Earthworm Jim 1 and 2. He has his power suit, his trusty blaster with max ammunition, 9 shots of mega plasma, his bubble gun, Three Finger Gun and Homing Missiles from Earthworm Jim 2. and his head (which can be used as a whip, copter, rope, etc.). He also has access to his pocket rocket. Knuckles is as he appears in the Sonic games, an echidna who can glide along with his trademark strength, punching, and digging abilities. He has all of the knowledge and experience that comes from starring in XCOM: Enemy Within, and the Railgun, Particle Cannon and Sentinel suit from that game, as well as the Psi Panic ability. He and Pikachu will share the high five mechanic, wherein they will evenly split the health remaining between them should they high five, even if one is on death's door and the other is untouched. Pikachu is as he appears in Pokken Tournament, with all of his moves and capable of Synergy Burst on his own. He also has Double Team, Wish, Nuzzle and Agility from Pokemon X & Y, and is holding a Light Ball. He has all the Golden Sun 1 Jupiter djinn, plus Steel and Iron, and all psynergy learned of his available classes from his current djinns (except Curse or Condemn), and has the Cloak Ball psynergy item. He can use summons as they appear in The Lost Age. He has activated the Jupiter Elemental Lighthouse, making wind & electricity powers/effects twice as powerful and Earth powers/effects half as strong. Vanille is as seen in the postgame of Final Fantasy XIII, equipped with Nirvana-Belladonna Wand, Tetradic Crown, Ribbon, Magus's Bracelet, and Magistral Crest, all at max level. She has fully mastered the Ravager, Medic, Saboteur, Commando, Synergist and Sentinel sections of the Crystarium, and may freely switch between the roles. It's the story of a man known as The Stranger, who battles his way through an extremely elaborate multilayered series of prison islands in low earth orbit in an attempt to return to the surface and escape his captivity. Except...things aren't quite so simple. As you find out throughout the game, The Stranger is not a man but an alien scout, and most of his enemies aren't sadistic monsters - they're heroes, defenders, and well-meaning people, trying to keep Earth from being annihilated the hands of you and the alien forces he represents. There's more to it, but it doesn't concern us here. What concerns us what The Stranger can do. Let's hop to it. If you feel like watching instead of reading, look at the vid right below this paragraph and you'll have a good idea of what The Stranger can do. If you want THE LORE, keep going afterward. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68hQtw8i4sQ The first thing that needs to be discussed is just how dangerous the Stranger is in melee combat, his specialty. He's equipped with a graphene composite saber - a material that exists in our world, and is a hundred times stronger than steel. It can slice through just about anything like it's not even there - which is why he can manage to hurt the bosses that stand in his way, the Jailers, as all of them, to a man, are cyborgs, wearing power armor, or otherwise protected. It also conducts heat and electricity so well that it crackles with power constantly, and when charged, it can decimate the HP of the bosses with single blows. That's not all he can do, however - he's also equipped with a laser rifle capable of rapidfire shots, so powerful that they can erase enemy energy bursts. The shots can also be charged for a great impact, if the Stranger feels like he needs to bide his time and wait. As far as speed goes, the Stranger excels at that, too. One of the jailers, The Line, can partially stop time. The Stranger manages to defeat him in spite of that, and when scanned by another one of his enemies, The Burst, it's revealed that his normal running speed is 73 km/h (that's a sustained speed about twice that of Usain Bolt's best or so, IIRC). On top of that, he can repeatedly teleport short distances, moving much quicker than his usual speed - this is something he repeatedly abuses in his fights, as several enemies' attacks (such as The Strap's, who can unleash laser beams as wide as multiple men standing next to each other and several men tall as well) cannot be dodged otherwise. A good showcase of his speed can be seen here as he takes on the final jailer, The Beat, who cannot fight him head-on and resorts to automated defenses and a humongous beam cannon to try and kill him. He possesses massive regenerative capabilities, resurrecting from death repeatedly no matter how many times The Chain, his first jailer, kills him while he's caught in a torture device. While he cannot do that here for the sake of fairness, he does retain his combat regeneration, which heals him every time he parries a strike for a solid chunk of his health. You can also see how, after being knocked down, he's stabbed with a laser scythe by The Strap here, and still gets up to continue the fight like he doesn't give a damn. Her natural defenses against guns, The Stranger's impeded ability to move on this ground and her double powered Rail Guns in this arena where it will be hard to avoid her shots and the stranger will really have quite the difficult time not just dying. But if somehow she does, Knux, with the full power of the fucking Particle Canon with healer-san Pikachu with the high 5s and the Wishing and who is no slouch in his own right. He'll be able to close in without that many issues. During Furi, he navigates through snow, sewage and worse things and never slips or is inconvenienced, so no reason to think the weapons will slow him down much if at all. For the second bit - the problem is Pikachu is very very un-tanky. The second The Stranger notices Pika mending Knux's wounds, he's getting shanked and that's all he wrote. He's likely to go to the well with the same strategy he used against her there - which was 'rush that shit down'. He just has to knick the stranger and he has a 100% chance of inflicting pokemon paralysis which halves speed and renders the opponent unable to move about half the time. But I do think he's a good link between say, Yuffie/Ikaruga and those two. Feel like people are downplaying how he can pretty much rapid-teleport to get around, has a good plasma gun, basically has a plasma sword, is an inhuman tank that can survive some pretty brutal attacks (like, with unique animations and everything, and they aren't afraid to make one-hit-kill attacks either), referenced as needing an entire army to take him down, and has fantastic reflexes (deflecting bullets and parrying attacks constantly). Most of his bosses are a bigger deal than anyone in the gauntlet here, the closest to a threat are the XCOM MECs, but he would absolutely dance circles around them. --- You can't live without a spinal cord, son.
