Just because you play shitty games like Street Fighter V doesn't mean I have to listen to your excuses about why you insist on it. Just accept that it's bad and go back to your corner.

They have strike vs throw mix up, but I think that's it. No high lows or crossovers.

Mixups are generally used in reference to several facets of defensive play in Smash. Ledge play, recovery, DI, etc.

Last fighting game tournament I went to the smell was so bad, everyone in my group decided to leave. Well that, and the manners and social skills of those around us would have embarrassed neanderthals.

I've always assumed that the vitriol in the fighting game community was due to the focus on competition, and the genre's constant struggle on the edge of teetering into obscurity.

I understand why fighting game enthusiasts like them, but yes, complicated button inputs are absolutely one of the biggest reasons fighters are not more popular. Well that, and the lack of consistency amongst character inputs.

That deodorant part was hilarious though and totally true, holy shit. I can't understand why every Smash tournament I went to stunk so much. It's gotten to the point where the Facebook group I'm in added a new tourney rule, "Shower and use deodorant before arriving."

lol

Although in fairness, tournaments tend to start early, end way later than scheduled, and involve cramming people into a room that's really not big enough for all of them, often while it's overheated. So even the people with good hygiene are getting a bit rancid by the end of the day (and the ones without are...yeah).

You actually can pull up the bubble shield and hold down or up, hell any direction and the bubble shifts towards that direction. This helps the most against a charged smash attack or if your shield is weakened shift it towards the direction your about to get hit.

https://www.ssbwiki.com/Shield_stab

"If a character sees an incoming shield stab attempt, they may be able to shift their shield to cover up the area by slightly tilting the control stick (tilting too far too quickly will cause a roll or sidestep). This gets harder as their shield weakens and shrinks."

so what would you consider more technically difficult?

i really want to hear this since you said its more difficult than guilty gear lol

cause i mean really, KoF, tekken, and GG are the only modern fighters id consider technically complex

injustice, sfv, blazblue, etc are all pretty simple, comparatively speaking

SFV is way more simple than Injustice 2. It's even more simple than SF3. It's like a step between SF2 and SF3.

Of course now I feel like this is about to devolve into an argument over what a "modern fighter" is.

But I think the following games are all a lot more technically complex than Injustice 2:

Killer Instinct 2013
SF4 (don't confuse technical complexity with being a good game)
KoF (We'll go with any of them, but 14 is the newest. You can basically throw darts at any SNK fighting game and hit one much more technical than anything else on the market.)
Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code
Skullgirls

Injustice 2, is just a game that I think strikes a great balance between technical gameplay (deep, but not labyrinthine), and being actually fun to play.
