Blade Runner. I kind of like the idea and the atmosphere, but the actual plot is soooooo boring.

Donnie Darko.

yes! it seems interesting the first time, because it's like a really complicated problem to solve, but really what was in the movie that I enjoyed? almost nothing. it wins points for making you think, but that alone doesn't make it a good movie.

I thought of two more I didn't really like, Barbershop: The next cut and Bridesmaid.

Didn't really find them funny, plus Barbershops story was kinda cliche, kid contemplating joining gang and usual "The barbershop is in trouble!" or some shit.

The Shawshank Redemption; very average movie.

Any Marvel movie post 2007 era. All crap. Well, I shouldn't call them crap, but honestly they're just very average movies.

Also Sicario.

That director is visually amazing but his movies always have terrible scripts. I didn't mind Sicario's script too much, but I hated the script for his previous movie Prisoners.

The Godfather, Lost in translation, and Harriet the Spy. And just so nobody makes assumptions I love one flew over the Cuckoo's Nest and As Good as it gets.

Assumptions about what? And I never liked Cuckoo's Nest or As Good as it Gets. Granted, there's one scene I absolutely loved...

Finding Nemo.

Nemo's dad tells him leaving the coral reef in dangerous, is immediately proved right when Nemo tries to prove him wrong, it's a miracle Nemo's dad finds him and they both survive and return home safely after they both almost get killed multiple times as a result of Nemo getting captured and Nemo's dad trying to save him, then somehow the moral is Nemo's dad was wrong to be so protective of Nemo or that the outside world is too dangerous.

I thought the point was that Nemo should've listened to his Dad.

Every Marvel movie after Iron Man.

They aren't bad, but they're not creative in any way. The humor and themes are copy-paste. The music is largely ripped off of other things and extremely bland.

It's looking like nothing will ever top TDK.

Also the new Star Wars. If it weren't for the visual/audio effects those movies would be total bombs.

That's the problem. Don't ever compare a comic book movie to TDK because it'll never compare. TDK and Marvel are two completely things, as well. They're like polar opposites but that doesn't mean they're bad.

And for what it's worth, I didn't like Iron Man or any of the Marvel movies until Avengers. But they somehow keep getting better and i never would have guessed it. The last 5 or so movies have been pretty fantastic

The fact that all of these people are in the same universe breaks the immersion. It's too silly. Iron Man was believable, so was Batman, now there's no way I can wrap my mind around all this magic + theist + pseudo-science God tier people all fighting an alien god war. On their own? Sure, but not all at once. If something crazy happens, it's fine, but only one thing crazy is allowed to happen, and then everything else is supposed to come from that one crazy thing. Otherwise, it's just nonsense.

And none of them die, every time one of them is about to die they're saved by sheer luck, then they walk away and say some cheesy one-liner. It's the most dangerous job ever but none of them die. There's no suspense because we need everyone for the sequel.

You have never read comicbooks, have you? Cause what you have a problem with is what happens in literally thousands of comics that have existed since before you or I were even born.

Only 500 issues of The Amazing Spider-man and another big stack 3 feet tall of random comics.

Recently I've come to realize there are some seriously dumb things that happen in comic books. I did stop at ~500, and I hear it got really stupid after that. One offs are really good, but it can only go on so long.

Well, the sort of things that happen in the Avengers films are what happens in Avengers comics and other Marvel comics. It may just be that you're not used this kind of film Universe which had never been done before because of Marvel selling all their movie rights after they went bankrupt in the 90s. For DC, it's because they had too many failures in the past.

Which is why I like shared origins (ie, common event triggers powers or people copy something which happened) or, at the very least, a reason for somebody to already have powers and just come public now.

Most Pixar movies. They're enjoyable, but formulaic and shallow. It's frustrating to see so many people claim that they're so profound and complex. Maybe for children, but not for anyone who's been exposed to much deeper themes.
