Also I'm surprised episode 6 has been officially named "Beyond the wall", which is an insanely boring name. The original name when it was leaked was "Death is the Enemy", which is a much better name imo, but whatever. A name is a name.

I thought it was all for show and that Sansa would agree with Brienne that a Stark should go with her and nominate Arya. That way she leaves Sansa alone and Arya can go down to King's Landing and try and take Cersei off her list. But instead she just gets rid of Brienne for reasons.

Because of the element of surprise. He took the harder shot first because he knew he could make it since no one saw it coming. The Drogon shot was an easy one and only missed because Denearys times it perfectly and turned at the last second.

This turn took Jorah by surprise hence why he almost fell. But if you look at the trajectory of the throw it was going to hit Drogon perfectly in the head. Perhaps he didn't think Denearys could control the dragon's movement.

Also it's convenient​ for the main story, obviously. Night king having the weakest dragon is easier story writing than him having the strongest.

Yeah, I know from a narrative standpoint it's necessary.

But still, he knows Jon Snow and whoever random lady piloting the dragons are his biggest threats. Kill the evac dragon when it's on the ground, series ends because they're all still trapped, the second dragon can't land to save them without you sniping that one too, and you turn them all into wights or walkers.

There's a silly line of foreshadowing in this episode, basically now they dont need to kill the whole army they just need to kill the Night King and all of them will disintegrate. Kind of a disappointing way to get rid of the dead if they do go in that direction. I still think the series will end with everyone killing each other going after the throne and the army of the dead will win by default.

I think the dumbest thing in the episode was including the bag of faces. The show spent seasons building up the mystery of the faceless ones, to have it reduced to a comically bad prop so Arya could be nasty to her sister

mystical assassins become nothing more than criminals in rubber masks

The weakest parts of the episode were easily the Sansa vs Arya scenes. What fucking pointless squabbling....it's all lazy bullshit to carry the storylines a bit further.

I'm actually more forgiving of Arya's position. Sure, she's seen a lot, but she's still what, 14 or 15? She's still got one leg in the past and one leg in the present, and I tend to think that she's also a borderline sociopath. With that lens in place, I can see where she's coming from. We've all grown to feel sorry for Sansa give the psychopaths she's been shuffled to throughout the course of the series, but I also think asking Arya to understand that given her experiences since Ned's beheading may be a bit much.

I've now officially given up hope that the White Walkers will kill everyone and take over the throne at the end. My heart is broken.

Now it's probably going to be some happy ending with Dany or Jon Snow sitting atop the world as the sun shines.... what a fucking disappointment.

Because I'm pretty sure Bran and us are the only people that have actually seen how one of the First Men became the Night King. If anything, the question would be why WOULD anyone assume it would be revived. Not to mention, under the circumstances, retreat was really the only thing that was on anybody except Dany's mind and she was clouded with grief at the loss of one of her children at the time.

On another note, is Dany seriously not only dressed like she's still in fucking southern Westeros, but flying at altitude in a damned Blizzard? I get she's on a fire breathing dragon and all, but a dragon is still ostensibly a cold blooded reptile of great size.

This is the least of my worries of the episode, however. Embarrassingly, I still loved the episode even though the writing was horrible

Tell me how far you're going to get doing that.

Now tell me when a noreaster comes through how far you're going to get flying at low altitude in let's say a cesna or a Piper cub with the windows open wearing nothing but a London fog trench coat flying from let's say boston mass to Halifax Nova scotia.

Point being, she'd be a meat popsicle before she even cleared the Wall unless she was dressed like a damned spetznaz trooper even if it was a balmy 50 degrees when she left dragonstone.

It's like -5c wherever they are. Barely even able to freeze ice. Jon had less than a minute to live if it was actually cold out when he crawled out of the water.

I'm surprised Arya has to carry the faces with her. Jaqen was face changing all the way in Westoros even though his faces were all in Braavos

I just think the whole Arya/Sansa/Bran storyline is poorly written this season. They have not done the Starks justice this season at all, Bran is the worse since he seems to just disappear for episodes at a time and this is a character that is supposed to have all of the answers.

because they can control anything dead. they've seen them do it, and dragons are super strong. Why wouldn't you assume they would?

So the night king baited him perfectly into that trap just to get a dragon to destroy the wall.
