Events that advance the plot objective are NOT filler. There really wasn't anything filler about last episode. Tyrion and Jamie meeting advanced the plot, Sam leaving advanced the plot, hell, even seeing Jon pet the dragon is a plot tip-off.

Filler is what Naruto and One Piece do to buy time between anime and manga gaps.

I mean he is right though, the episode wasnt filler and advanced many storylines.

On topic: Am I the only one that thinks Jon won't even want to take the throne even if he finds out he has a better claim to it? He didn't want to be King of the North and really only cares about defeating the army of the dead. There is only Cersei and Dany left that actually care about it.

As we get closer and closer to the series finale I still believe there won't be anyone on the throne and Kings Landing will have been destroyed or covered with snow like the vision Dany saw in season 2 at the house of the undying. There has to be a reason that scene exists.

That's not an opinion though, in the same way that saying the sky naturally occurs as red isn't an opinion. It's false to say the episode was filler. I nor anyone cares if it personally interested you or not, but to call it filler is wrong. Words have meaning, you know.

He definitely gives a shit about it the least, and as we've seen, it's not uncommon for others to relinquish a throne/title, even if they have more claim to it (Theon to Yara, Sansa/Bran to Jon).

I *could* see him wanting in a the-best-offense-is-a-good-defense sort of way, in that ruling the 7 kingdoms would go a long way to protecting the North (and pretty much no one has beef with the Starks/Jon). But he seems to be more in favor of abolishing, or at least ignoring central rule at this point.

And I forgot about the visions of KL covered in ice, you're right. This series has been pretty consistent with turning visions into reality, so...

I could see the WW breaking thru the wall, and everyone more or less banding together to stop them. In the process Cersei will probably die, and the winter destroying KL could come to pass.

thats been kind of the big joke with jon's whole life. he was heir to the throne so his identity was hidden and he was sent away to ensure he could never rule anything. And look where he's gotten himself to.

i could see this series being a comedy of errors where despite the machinations and the lies of people from the day he was born, he gets his birthright without even trying.

It wasn't filler, but it was strongly a 'bridge' episode to connect one big episode to another. If we only have 7 episodes, there's really no need for a bridge episode, or especially 2 or 3 bridge episodes, which this season already has.

episode 4 was an epic as fuck battle episode and episode 6 is looking to be the same. a "bridge" episode actually makes perfect sense to sit inbetween the two, especially when almost every scene was a key, important one.

The last 15 minutes of episode 4 has been the highlight of this season so far. Coming off that and being as we are close to the end of this season I expected episode 5 to good. Sure the cliffhanger is making it look like episode 6 will be great but I'm not holding my breath. Probably won't see all that much of the white walkers until the last episode of the season anyway.

Same it really bothered me how they weren't there except when it was to kill someone because they needed to fill a kill quota or something.

And That part at the very end before the cut off was too predictable, I've been predicting the White Walkers will have/get an undead Dragon since almost the beginning of the show and seeing that I was right was lame since it's rea obvious

Another thing I didn't like was the Benjen ex machina, what was the point of having Jon get injured and having a fake out death like that? I doubt there was anyone gullible enough to think that they really killed him off that way

Also the Dothraki somehow got to the battlefield at the same time so either they were stationed there or... well, the timeline seems kinda fucked up although it might have taken the Lannisters a while to get everything together whereas the alert went out immediately.

First of all, WHAT? What makes you think any one of those men could have killed the undead army by themselves? Have you even watched the show before? Did you watch the episode? They KILLED A DRAGON. There are like hundreds of thousands in the undead army. You literally think they could take hundreds of thousands of soldiers?

2. Were you even listening? Sansa is sending Brienne down to Kings Landing in her place, because Cersei is asking to have a meeting (maybe a possible treaty, although I doubt it).

1. yes I have seen every episode, yes I know the army is well over 100,000 soldiers. I was being rhetorical considering they were able to kill at least 100 without any effort.

2. I was listening but it seemed like Sansa was making it up considering she just had that discussion with LF. But I don't know if it was made up or not, hence why I asked. Sansa was definitely acting as if she was flustered but it seemed all for show.

I can understand because these are the best fighters left in Westeros, but at the same time it doesn't make for good TV. Hardhome was a million times better. The sheer berserker moves by the dead was great TV. Same with the cave scene with Bran where the skeletons were all running on the ceiling.

But this? Meh. Maybe it was the location that was the problem, or the fact that they had to succeed, or that there was too many top characters with plot armor.

Episode 6 spoilers: What was going on with Sansa and Brienne? Where was Sansa sending off to, was it a real event/request from Cersei or did Sansa make it up? Why is she getting rid of Brienne?

Why are Arya dialog scenes always so weird/cringey?

Also this is the first episode in the whole show that made me go "wtf is going on" like 6 times. Looked like those 6 guys could have killed the entire army of the dead by themselves.

But yes, Sansa is being stupid in doing so. But that's where Brienne is going

1. yes I have seen every episode, yes I know the army is well over 100,000 soldiers.

Sorry, I didn't know you meant that about the 2nd part, that's a good point.

Also I'm surprised episode 6 has been officially named "Beyond the wall", which is an insanely boring name. The original name when it was leaked was "Death is the Enemy", which is a much better name imo, but whatever. A name is a name.

I can understand because these are the best fighters left in Westeros, but at the same time it doesn't make for good TV. Hardhome was a million times better. The sheer berserker moves by the dead was great TV. Same with the cave seen with Bran where the skeletons were all running on the ceiling.

But this? Meh.

Yeah, I was wondering why the fuck the dead just walking towards them basically one at a time, what is this, a kung fu movie? lulz. yeah the berserker style was better.

If you take 110% of what I say seriously then you're gonna have a bad time.
