It pissed me off how many people are like "way to ban the guy most responsible for advertising your game" like, what they're saying is you should give preferential treatment to famous people. Also is it known if PU has asked the streamers to do what they do? Because if not then the streamers are giving him a gift of their own free will, that's not something that needs be repaid or held over their head like "Look at all I've done for you!" That would be like "remember that one Christmas present I gave you? Time to pay me back" That's not good.

Also the people who are claiming he banned the guy just because he was famous to get some more publicity, this has been pretty polarizing so far so why would he want any bad publicity that usually comes with banning a famous person? That just doesn't make sense as an argument to me.

I do, but I don't follow trends or general gaming news. I didn't know about Stardew Valley's existence until it had been named last year's best seller (or near the top) during the winter sales last year.

it might look a bit off-putting because it has a lot in common with those open server, persistent world survival games (like DayZ, it too grew from an Arma mod), but it's so much more approachable. it's also a great spectator game. I like throwing on some streams and watching it in the background while I work.

Those are great numbers.

I can't say I've never heard of it. I've seen trailers and it sounded interesting. I just do not enjoy watching people play games unless they have an unusual take on the game (Many a True Nerd is the only LPer I even watch consistently), so I imagine this leaves me out in the cold on all of this.

I mean, I also watch some strategy LPers like Quill or Marbozir, but I think that's a qualitatively different category.

I think the biggest problem for me is that I need things edited down. It's one thing to take time slowly when you're actively playing yourself, but I could stand for most LPers to edit out the monotonous footage that is essentially repeat viewing for me. This (coupled with the fact that most streamers play multiplayer games) is why I can't do Twitch at all. Just so much downtime. The exception is a GDQ-type stream.

It never tops League, Dota, CS:GO, or Overwatch, but yeah I took Shine to mean 2017 games.

I wonder what Hearthstone and WoW daily numbers look like. If I had to guess, I'd say PUBG concurrent players at any time beats out both, but daily/weekly/monthly players of those Blizzard games is still higher.
