#164: Fear the Walking Dead
Network: AMC
Genre: Horror
Available: Hulu, AMC
Favorite Character: Alicia
Favorite Episode: Los Muertos
Premise: Walking Dead spinoff that takes place just after the Zombie Apocalypse begins
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
The first season was very slow. But TWD was pretty slow in the first season as well, so I gave it a shot in the second season, and then gave up before the finale. The show just doesn't have the characters that TWD does. The show makes you want to root for the walkers. I think it'd have been much more interesting if it took place in say... England. Let's see what's going on in Europe rather than... California, and then Mexico. But unless you replaced that cast it wouldn't really matter. I'd watch TWD: Europe. But TWD: West Coast just hasn't lived up to it's predecessor in any way. At least not to the point where I quit. Madison had potential, but that went out the window at the end of season 1. I might catch up some day, but it's not on my to do list I mean there were parts i really did like. But it's far from what TWD is and was.
Spoiler Thoughts: (Spoilers for TWD too)
I feel like they never really take time to actually adapt to the walkers in this show. Nick picks up skills so fast, and they're soon dealing with Walkers like they're Rick's Group season 3. I mean RIck has to have Glenn (who's had more experience) tell him about the walker guts thing, but Nick just figures it out so he can be invincible. And they spend a lot of season 2 on that stupid boat. I think it's 5 epsidoes--almost half the season. Chris goes kind of crazy after his mom's death (I still think Madison should have been the one to kill her--she promised her that she would). Strand goes from wanting to be a walker, to not wanting to be one in a short period of time. TWD really benefited from Rick being in that coma early on. And also probably having established characters from the comics. Gimme a show with Clem. I'd watch TWD the game the tv show.

#163: Revolution
Network: NBC
Genre: Sci-Fi
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Miles Matheson
Favorite Episode: The Dark Tower
Premise: After all the lights go out in the world, people try to find ways to survive
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This show was alright. It takes place in a post apocalyptic world, where there's no more electricity. People struggle to survive. The main characters are the Matheson Family. You have Charlie Mattheson who is supposed to be like Katniss Everdeen, but she never really lives up to the role. (I'm not sure the actress could if she wanted to). Then you have her mom, who has a lot of secrets. And her Uncle Miles who is basically the show's tough guy. They live in an area known Monroe Republic--named after General Monroe, who Miles used to run with. Of course Monroe's people are pretty terrible. Including Tom Neville and his son Jason. There's also other countries out there which the US divided into. The premise was really interesting. But season 2 really failed. It didn't live up to the first season at all. The show felt a lot like an RPG, with party members splitting up, and going off on little sidequests that often didn't matter to the overall plot. The first season was pretty good, but I found the second disappointing.
Spoiler Thoughts:
At least the mystery of how the lights went out was solved. Sure, they took the MGS route of 'nanites', but at least it was an answer.

#162: Wipeout
Network: ABC
Genre: Gameshow
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: None
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: People go on crazy courses to win money
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Wipeout is a gameshow where people perform crazy stunts in order to win money. Whoever finishes the fastest, wins. Usually the last one was nearly impossible, while the first two tasks were much easier. The best part of the show was probably the announcers, because they'd always make funny comments while the people went across the obstacle courses. A funny show that didn't last too long--but was part of a big craze for a little while.

#161: Jeopardy
Network: Syndication
Genre: Gameshow
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Ken Jennings
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: People answer trivia questions in the form of a question.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Jeopardy is a pretty good gameshow. It's one of the few I can sit and watch for the whole episode. It's fun trying to answer some of the questions--though some make you feel pretty dumb. I have no idea how these people know all of this stuff. I'm stumped by most of the questions. Ken Jennings streak was really impressive too, and made it fun to watch. It's not something I'd watch every night, but still fun to watch now and again.

#160: Who Wants To Be A Millionaire
Network: ABC
Genre: Gameshow
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: None
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: People answer multiple choice questions for a chance to win a million dollars
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I like Millionaire better than Jeopardy because it doesn't make me feel as dumb. There's also three lifelines to use: Phone A Friend, Ask the Audience, and 50/50. I think they've changed them some over the years. It's another one of the few gameshows I can finish a whole episode. Regis Philbin was the original host, but they've had several others since. Sometimes the first question is really simple, but I've also seen some that are hard. I still remember the tax-man winning the first million on the show. He phoned his friend at the end to tell him he won $1,000,000 which was really cool.

#159: Lab Rats
Network: Disney
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Bree Davenport
Favorite Episode: Bionic Showdown
Premise: A teen moves in with his new billionaire step-dad only to discover that he has three step-siblings who have bionic abilities
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another show I lost interest in, despite enjoying it. The show features three bionic teens: Adam, who has super strength and laser vision. Bree, who has super speed. And Chase who is super smart. All three have been living in a secret lab, never experiencing normal teenage life. That is, until their 'father' Donald marries Leo's mom, and Leo discovers the secret lab with the three teens. Many of the episodes focus on them trying to balance life with school, along with trying to keep their abilities secret from everyone else. It's a pretty funny teen comedy with a little bit of action thrown in. But I lost interest midway through--even though most people say that's when it gets really good.

#158: Medium
Network: CBS
Genre: Supernatural Drama
Available: Amazon, Hulu, CBS
Favorite Character: Allison Dubois
Favorite Episode: Be Kind, Rewind
Premise: A Psychic working for the DA helps solve crimes
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Medium is a pretty good show, though it's one I regret binging. In small doses I think I'd have liked it a bit more. The show features Patricia Arquette as Allison Dubois, a real psychic. Her boss the DA believes her, but her husband often doesn't. Her husband has seen her abilities, and often he doesn't believe her. He's a super skeptic. Once in a while he'll be right, and Allison will be wrong. But his skepticism sometimes borderline on stupid. Of course he's also the snarker of the show, so his character doesn't ruin it. The show does go downhill a bit toward the end, especially after the show switches networks. It's fine in small doses, but not bingeable imo.

#157: The Kettering Incident
Network: Showcase
Genre: Mystery
Available: Amazon
Favorite Character: Dr. Anna Macy
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A woman returns to the town where her best friend disappeared years earlier, only for another girl to go missing.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another series i didn't finish. I just couldn't really get into it, even though I normally love this type of show. It features a Doctor who returns home for the first time in a long time, after leaving when her friend disappears. Of course she comes back, and another girl disappears. Which draws the suspicion of everyone else in town. I just wasn't drawn in by the acting like I usually am with this sort of show. I might give it another chance down the road if it gets a second season. But so far it hasn't.

#156: Worst Year of My Life Again
Network: CBBC
Genre: Comedy-Drama
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Alex King
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A boy must relive his horrible Freshman year after being sent back in time
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I only watched a few episodes of this show, but it wasn't bad. I thought it was pretty good. The concept was interesting. Alex King is turning 15. His Freshman Year of high school was the worst year of his life. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. Only when he wakes up on what should be his 15th birthday, he finds that he's 14 all over again. So he has to relive the last year of his life--though now with knowledge of what went wrong. It's a pretty funny show, and you get to see what went wrong, and how he tries to fix it. It never works out well for him. It only lasted a season.

#155: Terra Nova
Network: FOX
Genre: SCI-FI
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Nathaniel Taylor
Favorite Episode: Resistance
Premise: When the world becomes overpopulated, they open a time portal to when dinosaurs walked the earth, and people move into that new time zone
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This was another show that only lasted a season. It was too expensive to produce the CGI Dinosaurs. The show was pretty good for the most part--though it started off a little weak. In the dystopian future, parents are only allowed to have so many kids--but the Shannon family went ahead and had one more than they were supposed to. The Shannons manage to smuggle their youngest child along with them after a jailbreak. But the Dinosaurs aren't the only threat to those trying to colonize ancient earth. You also have the Sixers--a group that came in during the sixth pilgrimage to Terra Nova. The show ends by adding a few new mysteries, and had everyone excited for what could have been season 2, but it was never meant to be.
Spoiler Thoughts:
What was that ship doing there?! I need to know!

#154: Ghost Whisperer
Network: CBS
Genre: Supernatural Drama
Available: Amazon, Hulu
Favorite Character: Melinda
Favorite Episode: The One
Premise: Jennifer Love Hewitt sees dead people
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Ghost Whisperer is another decent show. Melinda Gordon (who runs an antique store that she never works at, and wears low cut dresses that cost more than she probably makes) can see ghosts. And her job is to help them cross over to the other side. The show started off pretty good. The stories of the ghosts were interesting, and the cast was okay. A lot of people mostly watched it for one reason: JLH. Well.. two reasons. The show really started going downhill toward the end. They killed off a major character, and the way they brought them back was a pretty bad storyline. Then they did a timeskip... and overall it just was all over the place. I'll get into that more in the spoiler section.
Jim's death was so dumb! Especially since he just possesses another body, which Melinda then marries. I mean the neighbors had to wonder why Melinda was remarrying so soon after her husband's death. They didn't know it was Jim in another body. And of course he just so happens to have the experience to become a doctor like Jim wanted. Maybe the dumbest plot in TV History

#153: The Gates
Network: ABC
Genre: Supernatural Drama
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Dylan Radcliff
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Chicago Cop moves to an upscale neighborhood when he's named Chief of Police there. Only he doesn't know there are Vampires, Werewolves, Witches and more there!
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Honestly this show would probably be ranked higher if I had seen it recently. But I haven't seen it in a long time, and can only remember bits and pieces. It's a supernatural drama, with the Cop at first not really knowing that the supernatural exists. They all live in this gated community, and the new Chief of Police has to deal with all the crazy stuff going on in town--including Vampires killing people, and Witches spelling people with their teas. It only lasted a season, but I thought it was pretty good.

#152: Six Degrees
Network: ABC
Genre: Drama
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Mae Anderson
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: Six People's Lives are connected, only they don't know how
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I remember really liking this show when it was on. The characters of the show often intersect in each others lives in ways they don't know or understand. I can't remember much beyond that. It only lasted 13 episodes, and was during the whole mystery phase on ABC. Bridgette Moynahan was in it.

#151: Persons Unknown
Network: NBC
Genre: Mystery
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Janet Cooper
Favorite Episode: Shadows in the Cave
Premise: Strangers find themselves stranded in a deserted town, unable to leave
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This was advertised as a single season show... and that's what it ended up being. Except for one thing: The Writers did NOT plan on ending after on season. So it ended on a cliffhanger, and a pretty good one at that. Seven Strangers find themselves inside a creepy town, living in a creepy hotel with a creepy hotel manager. And none of them know how they got there, or why they're there. The show starts off kind of slow, but then picked up at the end before being cancelled. The whole thing seems to be a game by somebody--but we never learn who. Cameras are almost always watching them. I was looking forward to a second season, but alas it didn't get one.
Spoiler Thoughts:
The way the characters fake their deaths at the end was pretty good. Too bad they ended it with them advancing to level 2. Just when we thought they might actually have closure...

#150: Life with Boys
Network: Nickelodeon
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Tess
Favorite Episode: Birthdays with Boys
Premise: Tess has three brothers, a dad, and is the only girl in the house
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Tess is the only daughter of Jack Foster, and she has to live with him and her three brothers (Older, Younger, and Twin). She's a tomboy who's only feminine influence is her best friend Allie. Oh, and did I mention their house only has one bathroom? Surprisingly this only causes a real problem in one episode. The dad surprisingly doesn't fit the typical Teen Sitcom "Adults are useless" trope. Their dad also works at their school as the gym teacher/wrestling coach, and Tess is on the wrestling team. It's a pretty funny show, though the brothers have pretty static personalities, without a whole lot of depth. The oldest is vain, and obsessed with dating girls and the twin is mostly just dorky. It reminds me a little of Complete Savages--only with one girl. I watched it more recently, so I remember it better.

#149: My Own Worst Enemy
Network: NBC
Genre: Action
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Henry/Edward
Favorite Episode: Henry and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day
Premise: Henry is a dad with an ordinary day job. Edward is a spy trained to kill. They both share one thing in common: The same body.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another show that lasted only one season. The concept was pretty unique. Henry was a normal guy, who worked a normal job. But sometimes his other personality took over: Edward a deadly spy who spoke several languages and had a dangerous job. The series ended with a major cliffhanger. I wonder if it'd have lasted longer if the main character wasn't played by Christian Slater. His series tend to never last very long. Also probably doesn't help that it was on NBC. Still, I thought it was a pretty good show.

#148: Carnivale
Network: HBO
Genre: Mystery
Available: Amazon, HBO
Favorite Character: Ben Hawkins
Favorite Episode: New Canaan, CA
Premise: Good vs Evil in the dust bowl era with a supernatral twist
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I thought I'd really love this show--it's got supernatural aspects, featuring good vs evil with each side having it's own powers. But honestly... I found myself only liking it 'okay'. The first season was kind of hard to slug through, but the second season I thought was much better. You have Brother Justin on one side, played by Clancy Brown, and he's a priest. Then on the other you have the young Ben Hawkins. The show has a great mythology to it. It's only two seasons, and the last episode I thought was the best one. The acting was great--but the pacing was a bit too slow for me to 'love'

#147: The Event
Network: NBC
Genre: SciFi
Available: Hulu, NBC
Favorite Character: Blake Sterling
Favorite Episode: Arrival
Premise: Aliens crash on earth, and some are imprisoned, while others escape and hide among us
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
A pretty good sci-fi series on NBC. It only lasted one season. I think what the event did best was make you hate the Aliens. Because while they appaered human, and they should have been sympathetic--they really weren't. What the show did really horribly was flashbacks and the order they showed things in. Often it just didn't make any sense, and made it hard to follow. I think the show might have made it to season two if they fixed that. Sophia (the leader of the Aliens) was pretty likable at first, but as the series grew on, she grew worse and worse. On the other hand, Blake Sterling seems like the type of character you hate at first, but as the show goes on he becomes more likable. He ultimately became my favorite character in the show.

#146: Futurama
Network: FOX
Genre: Cartoon
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: The Professor
Favorite Episode: Jurassic Bark
Premise: A pizza delivery boy from the year 2000 gets cryogenically frozen, and enters the year 3000
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I haven't seen too much of Futurama. I know a lot of people absolutely love it--but I find it's mostly okay. At least from what I've watched. Fry gets sent to the year 3000, where he gets a job at the Planet Express and meets a Cylcops named Leela. I wasn't a fan of most of the characters in the show, and I absolutely hated Leela and Nibbler. But I thought it was still a pretty good show.

#145: Joan of Arcadai
Network: CBS
Genre: Supernatural Drama
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Joan
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: God talks to a girl
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another show that it's been a long time since I've watched. I remember Joe Montagnea as the dad, who was some sort of cop. And Joan talked to God who was played by various people. The show didn't last very long. I remember in one episode God proved that he was god by pointing to a tree, and saying "Let me see you make one." Joan also had a brother who was in a wheelchair. It wasn't quite as religious as Touched by An Angel, and was fairly secular. Different people would play God each week, and he'd always have a lesson for Joan. I don't think I watched the second season, but I can't remember it as much as I'd like to. I don't remember watching season 2 for some reason.

#144: Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman
Network: CBS
Genre: Drama
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Clark Kent
Favorite Episode: Tempus Fugitive
Premise: A Superman story
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I didn't like this show when I first watched it, but upon rewatching some of it I found it to be pretty good. I haven't seen all of it. Terri Hatcher makes a good Lois, and Dean Cain does a decent job at balancing Clark and Superman. The casting of Perry White was fantastic. I think it helps that I now know a lot more about Superman than I did when I first watched it.
Spoiler Thoughts:
My favorite episode is easily Tempus Fugitive, in which Tempus can't believe that Lois hasn't figured out Clark is superman. Look. I'm Clark Ken. *takes glasses off* No, I'm Superman. *puts glasses on* Mild mannered reporter. *Takes glasses off* "Superhero." Of course Clark Kent IS the disguise, and it works not just because of the glasses, but because you take a look at Clark Kent and you think there's no way this guy is a superhero. He's a bumbling mild mannered reporter from Kansas. And nobody like that could be superman. Even if they look sort of alike.

#143: No Ordinary Family
Network: ABC
Genre: Comedy-Drama
Available:Yahoo, Hulu, ABC
Favorite Character: None
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Family gains superpowers
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
A pretty good superhero show, but there's just a lot better out there. I don't think I ever finished it--but I remember it being pretty funny. It reminded me a lot of The Incredibles if they made it a tv show. Fun fact: Danielle Panabaker of the Flash's younger sister was in this show. I really should try to finish it one day. Because I liked what I saw of it well enough. But it's hard to get into a show that you know will never get another season, and didn't watch live. At least for me it is. Unless it has a concrete ending.

#142: Whose Line is it Anyway
Network: ABC
Genre: Comedy
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: None
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: Four people compete in a fake gameshow doing improve
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Whose Line is it anyway. The show where everything's made up and the points don't matter. It was a half hour improv show featuring Ryan, Colin, Wayne, and usually a fourth interchangeable person. The show could be very funny at times, so I definitely enjoyed it. Though at times I just didn't feel it either. CW brought it back, but I just couldn't get into it again. Still, I have some fond memories of the show.

#141: America's Most Wanted
Network: FOX
Genre: Reality
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: None
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: Reenactments of Dangerous Criminals that haven't been caught
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This show kind of scared me as a kid. I always thought that the criminals featured in it would come and get me. I don't know why. Also I thought one of my neighbors was totally a guy featured on there. He was a pretty scary guy, and the picture looked a lot like him. I wanted to call in with a tip, but my mom said it wasn't him. The show helped bring 1200 criminals to justice which is really impressive. It was a pretty good thing to have on. I know John Walsh (the host) wanted the show because his son was murdered. It was an okay show--nothing great, but it did a job.

#140: Unsolved Mysteries
Network: NBC
Genre: Mystery
Theme:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JnOeIFx3ML8

Available: Amazon
Favorite Character: Robert Stack
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: Mysteries that are still mysteries.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Unsolved Mysteries can be pretty interesting at times, but I also find it hard to sit and watch shows like this. Especially with all the paranormal and extraterrestrial stuff they try to suggest. I mean if you let your mind wander on any subject, you're bound to find something spooky or unsettling. Still, the show was pretty entertaining, and told many great stories. But I found they leaned toward ghost/alien type stories a bit too much, when we've yet to see evidence suggesting either. I remember reading that even host Robert Stack was skeptical of all the paranormal claims. Good concept for a show though. And the theme song is awesome.

#139: The Mole
Network: ABC
Genre: Reality
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Anderson Cooper
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: People compete in challenges, but one person is trying to sabotage them. The players must figure out who this is.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Anderson Cooper was the best reality TV show host. I really liked the concept of the mole, and the show was pretty good. Each week players would compete in certain tasks, and The Mole would try to sabotage them. Players and viewers had to both figure out who it was. Then at the end everyone took a quiz, and whoever scored lowest would be eliminated. The eliminations were pretty cool. They also had clues each week to the mole's identity--but they were mostly ridiculous and nobody could ever figure them out. One of the better reality shows, though they went the celebrity route and sort of ruined it I think. Did we really need Stephen Baldwin twice?

#138: Murder in Small Town X
Network: FOX
Genre: Reality
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: None
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: People try to solve a murder mystery
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
And we finally get to the last Reality show! Murder in Small Town X. Unlike other reality shows, this one had a little bit of a scripted plot. There was a series of murders, with so many suspects--and it's up to the players to figure out who the killer is. Each week they'd go through investigations, and try to find clues, and then have the killer eliminate one of the suspects. The guy who went on to win was killed on 9/11. He was a fireman who went into the twin towers. The concept of the show was pretty good--though the execution left a little to be desired. Still, it was a fun show. It sadly only got one season. I think they did a European version, but it was awful.

#137: The Flintstones
Network: ABC
Genre: Cartoon
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Bam-Bam
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A family living during pre-historic times
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
One of the few cartoons I watched as a kid. The Flintstones was pretty good-though I don't remember it too well. I remember watching it on TV before going to school. Because of this show I thought Cavemen lived during the time of dinosaurs. Which they didn't. Total ripoff. You have Fred Flintstone and his wife Wilma, and his best friend Barney and his wife Betty. It was a pretty good cartoon, but I haven't really seen it since I was a kid. I don't remember loving it--but I did like it enough to watch it while eating my Cocoa Pebbles. (I didn't like Fruity Pebbles. Am I the only one?)

Premise: A Man who knows everything, knows nothing about himself.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another show that it's been a long time since I watched. But it was a pretty good show from what I do remember. Dominic Purcell stars as John Doe, a man who doesn't know who he is, but knows everything else. It only lasted a season, and I don't think a lot of the main questions were resolved. After making a lot of money using his new found talents, John goes around helping people, while trying to figure himself out.

#135: Resurrection
Network: ABC
Genre:Supernatural Drama
Available: Hulu
Favorite Character: Bellamy
Favorite Episode: Schemes of the Devil
Premise: People long dead start coming back to life
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Resurrection was a pretty good show that managed to get two seasons. It starred Omar Eppes as Bellamy, an immigration agent who finds a boy and returns him to his parents--only to find out the boy died years earlier. I actually forgot that it had a season 2, and that I watched it. I think season 1 was a lot better though. Of course the boy isn't the only one who's come back from the dead. I remember hating the Sheriff. He was an annoying character who wouldn't listen to anyone. There's a lot of secrets in Arcadia, much of them surrounding the Langston family. I feel like they could have focused a little more on how it would be for people who returned to deal with everything that's changed. A lot of the mystery surrounds why they've come back, and more importantly--how they came back.

#134: Alcatraz
Network: FOX
Genre: Sci-Fi
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Emerson Hauser
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: On March 21st, 1963, Alcatraz officially closed. All the prisoners were transferred off the island. Only that's not what happened. Not at all.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another single season show that didn't last. The concept was interesting enough to hold me. Inmates from Alcatraz disappeared, and were suddenly reappearing. And nobody knew why. The show didn't get long enough to really resolve any of the questions. Each week they'd have to chase after a new inmate who had escaped, find their story, and try to track them down. The prisoners on Alcatraz were awful--but they also had some awful things done to them. It of course ended on a big cliffhanger, and then never got season 2. Also it had Sam Neil from Jurassic Park. <3 Sam Neil.

#133: Seinfeld
Network: NBC
Genre: Sitcom
Available:
Favorite Character: Jackie Chiles
Favorite Episode: Soup Nazi
Premise: A show about nothing
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Seinfeld is a classic that I think can be really funny--but I don't really love it like some people do. I absolutely hate the theme song. Like, whenever I hear that theme song I mute it. Some parts could be REALLY funny. Then other parts... I just didn't get. Sometimes the laughtrack or the audience (I think they used a mix) would laugh... and I'd be thinking "Was that funny?" None of the main characters were particularly likable people--which is kind of the point of the whole show I think. But I prefer characters I can empathize with. Jackie Chiles was probably my favorite character, though he only appeared on the show seven times. He was Kramer's lawyer and loves filing lawsuits. The show could be really hilarious at times, and I know it'll be controversial that I rank it this low--but it's just not a show I love.

#132: The Jetsons
Network: ABC
Genre: Cartoon
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Judy Jetson
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Futuristic Family's life
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I liked The Jetsons better than the Flintstones. I loved the little whirr sound their vehicles made when traveling across the galaxy. Its' another of the few cartoons I watched as a kid. It had a lot of good characters--Rosie the Robot, George Jetson, the boss who's name I forgot. It's been a long time since i watched it, but it was a classic cartoon. And i really liked it.\

#131: Hart of Dixie
Network: CW
Genre: Comedy-Drama
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Zoe
Favorite Episode: Tributes and Triangles
Premise: A Big City Doctor takes over a small town practice after failing to get her dream job
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Hart of Dixie was all over the place. It could be a pretty good show at times. Zoe was a big city doctor who kept getting invitations to join a small town clinic in Bluebell Alabama from a man named Dr. Harvey Wilkes. But Zoe wanted to be a big city surgeon, so she denied his request. But when she's told she needs general practice, she decides to take Harvey up on his offer--only to find that he's died, and left half of his clinic to her in his will. She soon discovers Bluebell doesn't want her there as much as she doesn't want to be there. Especially the man who owns the other half of the clinic--Dr. Brick Breeland. He wants to own the clinic for himself. Zoe finds out early on that Harvey was her biological father. Zoe decides to stay in Bluebell, and struggles running the practice and dealing with the small town issues.

#130: Magnum PI
Network:CBS
Genre: Crime-Drama
Available: Starz
Favorite Character: Higgins
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: Thomas Magnum is a private investigator who resides in a mansion of the unseen Robin Masters
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Magnum PI is another classic show. I haven't seen all of it--because I'm not a huge fan of the genre. But what I did see I liked. The characters were likable. You had Thomas Magnum, who was always getting into trouble with Higgins (the caretaker of the lot, and someone Magnum suspects to actually be Robin Masters), and solving all sorts of cases. He gets to drive fancy cars thanks to his job. Then you had the helicopter pilot TC who'd take Magnum where he needed to go, and Rick who often assisted him with his cases. It was a pretty likable cast, and had some pretty entertaining series. I don't think I could ever watch ALL of it (it lasted 8 seasons) but it was fun to watch the episodes I saw.

#129: My Name is Earl
Network: NBC
Genre: Sitcom
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Earl Hickey
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Man wins the lottery, and then makes a list of everyone he's wronged, and sets off on a quest to right those wrongs
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This show could be pretty funny at times. It featured Jason Lee as a trailer park resident who's wife left him. He wins the lottery, and then gets an epiphany that if he does good things, Karma will reward him. He then sets off to right all the wrongs he's done. I also really liked his ex-wife Joy, even though she was pretty unsympathetic. Earl also had a brother Randy, who was a complete idiot who never really understood what Earl was doing. I quit watching when Earl went to prison.

#128: The Andy Griffith Show
Network: CBS
Genre: Sitcom
Theme:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_xFuWmdhLk

Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Barney Fife
Favorite Episode: None
Premise:Widower Sheriff Andy Taylor raises his son in the small town of Mayberry
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another show I've not seen all of. Just episodes here and there. It's another classic too. The show has a catchy theme song. They put this show on like... all the time. The black and white episodes are better than the ones in color. The show featured dimwitted deputy Barney Fife, who for some reason was allowed to carry a gun. But Andy himself never carried one. It also had Ron Howard as Andy's son, Opie.

#127: Sam & Cat
Network: Nickelodeon
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Cat
Favorite Episode: #DroneBabyDrone
Premise: Spinoff of iCarly and Nickelodeon featuring Sam and Cat
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
The first of many kid-coms that will be coming up. Sam & Cat could be really funny at times, and not so great at others. It features characters from iCarly and Victorious. It only lasted one season, and rumors persisted that it was because Ariana Grande didn't get along with her co-star. Sam is the tough girl who eats everything, and Cat is... well Cat. She doesn't understand anything, and is a bit dimwitted but well meaning. Their personalities clash. Both move in together after Cat's Grandmother goes to live in a nursing home, and they start running a babysitter service. I liked both characters on their respective shows, but felt that the show never quite lived up to either of them.

#126: 3rd Rock from the Sun
Network: NBC
Genre: Sitcom
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Tommy
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: Aliens come to earth, and try to live among humans
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another sitcom I liked. The Solomon family comes to Earth, and tries to blend in with humans. I only watched when I was younger, and probably later into the series. But I remember it being a funny show. You had the Big Giant Head who was their leader, played by William Shatner. I think Larisa Oleynik (Alex Mack) was in it for a while too, as well as Newman from Seinfeld. I should rewatch it some day if they stream it somewhere. Though I don't think the DVD set is expensive... I think you can get the complete series for $20.00. Probably less on Black Friday

#125: ALF
Network: NBC
Genre: Sitcom
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: ALF
Favorite Episode: Working My Way Back To You
Premise: A Hairy Alien Crashlands with the Tanner family, and comes to live with them
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I remember when I was little my brother had this Stuffed animal that he called ALF. And for the longest time I thought he was making up the fact that there was a TV show based on this character. Then they eventually put it up for streaming on Hulu I think, and my brother told me I should watch it. So I did, and I found it pretty funny. It stars Gordon Shumway aka ALF (Alien Life Form) who is from the planet Melmac and likes to eat cats. The humor was probably a little dated, but I managed to enjoy the show still. They had a neighbor who was always snooping on them, and they were always in danger of ALF being found out.

#124: A.N.T. Farm
Network: Disney
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Hulu
Favorite Character: Paisley
Favorite Episode: Slumber Party ANTics
Premise: A class for middle school kids with great talents in high school
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another kid-com, that I know a lot of people didn't like. But I thought it was pretty funny. A lot of the characters were just really ditzy. Especially Paisley, who made me like the show. Paisley is a kind pretty cheerleader who never means anyone harm, and you wonder just why she'd be friends with someone like Lexi. Especially since Lexi is so mean. And then you realize it's because she's clearly missing a few brain cells. I mean the girl is clueless 99% of the time, and just goes along with what people say. I have no idea how she made it to high school. Or out of her bedroom in the morning. Of course most of the cast of characters are pretty dim--except for Lexi (the mean girl cheerleader who can't stand not being the center of attention--including when Paisley breaks her arm). and Olive (a girl with a perfect memory. She can remember what she was wearing on her 4th birthday, as well as the entirety of every book she's ever read) and Chyna (The main character). The show isn't anything great, but I found it funny, and enjoyed the characters for what they were. They definitely wanted to milk Chyna Anne McClain's singing talents. But it could be funny at times too.

#123: The Nine Lives of Chloe King
Network: ABC Family
Genre: Supernatural Drama
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Chloe King
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Girl discovers she has cat-like powers on her 16th birthday... and is being hunted by an assassin
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another show i don't remember too well--but I remember liking it quite a bit. Enough that I actually read the books that the show is based on. The series features the Mai, an ancient race with cat-like powers. And Chloe is of course the Chosen One. And like cats are said to have, she has nine lives. I'd love to rewatch this show some time. It's not available on DVD, but can be bought on Amazon. Wish they put it on Netflix... they put everything else from ABC Family on there it seems like.

#122: One Tree Hill
Network: CW
Genre: Drama
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Lucas Scott
Favorite Episode: With Tired Eyes, Tired Minds, Tired Souls, We Slept
Premise: Two basketball players share more than a love for basketball, they also share an abusive father. (But have different mothers)
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I liked One Tree Hill for the most part. The show features two boys who are half-brothers, and love basketball. But the dad is super abusive. One son he ignores entirely. He doesn't even claim him, and does everything he can to stop him from being on the HS basketball team. The other, he pushes so hard that he practically ruins his life. He's also a complete jerk. I never finished the series--but I did watch the first couple of seasons. Both boys luckily have pretty good mothers, because their dad is really horrible. For me that was actually kind of the appeal of the show. I wanted Lucas to prove his dad wrong. Nathan too for that matter. They also did a really good school shooting episode.

#121: The Sarah Jane Adventures
Network: BBC
Genre: Sci-Fi
Available: Amazon
Favorite Character: Sarah Jane Smith
Favorite Episode: Death of the Doctor Part 2
Premise: A Spinoff featuring former Doctor Companion Sarah Jane Smith
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
After I finished watching Doctor Who, I got into The Sarah Jane Adventures. And while it wasn't as good as Doctor Who, I still thought it was really good. It introduced me more to the Doctor's former companion Sarah Jane Smith (RIP Liz Sladen) It was more for kids than Doctor Who (which is also supposed to be for kids I think, but this seemed more so). In fact most of the main characters were kids. They had some of the villains from Dr. Who--including the unfortunate use of the Slitheen. The 10th and 11th Doctor even made an appearance on the show as a cameo. Both for two episodes.

#120: Passions
Network: NBC
Genre: Soap Opera
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Tabitha Lennox
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Really Weird Soap Opera with a witch
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Oh Passions. You're stupid, and you're awesome at the same time. This Soap Opera featured a witch named Tabitha (Juliet Mills) who carried her little doll Timmy (Joshua Ryan Evans) everywhere. And it had a bit of everything in it. You had the Crane Family. To explain how messed up they are... Alistair Crane was the patriarch of the family, and he raped... who knows how many people. He abused his intersex grandchild who eventually grew up and raped their own father to get pregnant by them. And that should tell you all you need to know about the Cranes, but it's still not enough because he's tried to have many of his own children killed. Then you have Tabitha who literally works for the forces of evil and is capable of using magic. Passions also had several great loves. Passions also had Theresa who was a stalker fall in love with Ethan who eventually falls in love with her despite being with his fiance who he just can't leave (but he doesn't want his stalker moving on with someone else either). The one major problem with Passions though was it moved at a snail's pace. You could watch it one week, and then a month later they'd still be doing the same thing. It was a crazy soap, fun to watch, but infuriating because of how stupid some of the people on the show were.

#119: Eek! The Cat
Network: FOX
Genre: Cartoon
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Eek
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Purple Cat just wants to help. It never hurts to help! (Except when it does)
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
My brother loved this show growing up, but I didn't remember it--so he made me watch it again a few years ago. And it was pretty funny. It features a purple cat who just wants to help people. And of course this always ends up in him getting hurt. Eek also has a girlfriend named Annabelle--a pink cat who is very large, and nobody understands what Eek sees in her. There were also the Terrible Thunderlizards, but I didn't really watch those segments. Still it was a pretty funny cartoon. Eek almost never had things go well for him, no matter how nice, kind and friendly he was--but he also never let it deter him. A fun cartoon.

#118: Jessie
Network: Disney
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Zuri
Favorite Episode: Creepy Connie 3: The Creepening
Premise: A Girl moves to the big city, and ends up accidentally becoming the nanny to four rich kids (3 of them adopted)
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another kid-com. Jessie could be pretty funny at times. She was forced into a terrible job as a nanny taking care of Morgan and Christina's kids: Emma (their only biological child) Luke (from detroit) Ravi (from India) and Zuri (from Africa). The children are absolutely spoiled brats. They even have a butler--Bertram. Though Bertram despises them, and is kind of lazy for a butler. The kids can be really big brats, especially when it comes to money. But eventually Jessie grows to be part of their family. My only question is: Why aren't Morgan and Christina ever around? I mean I know they have jobs, and this is supposed to be a parody on Brangelina... but you'd think they'd be around once in a while. No wonder those kids are so spoiled. They get their love bought, but then never have their parents around.

Network: ABC
Genre: Sitcom
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Cody
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Blended Family comes together
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I remember watching this one a little as a kid--but I remember it better watching it on cable. Step by Step featured two families: Frank, and his two sons and one daughter, and Carol and her two daughters and one son. There was also Cody who lived in his van, and was Frank's cousin I think. The show was pretty funny, and had some pretty good storylines. The families really started coming together. It was another one of those T.G.I.F. shows, back when ABC did it (and then later CBS I think?) I remember the show getting worse after Cody left--the actor was arrested for domestic violence, but it was later discovered he was innocent. He was the funniest part of the show. It was essentially a clone of The Brady Bunch, but I never watched the Brady Bunch.

#116: Dog With A Blog
Network: Disney
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Hulu
Favorite Character: Avery Jennings
Favorite Episode: Howloween
Premise: A blended family comes together thanks to a talking dog
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another kid-com that most people don't really like much. I thought it was funny though, and generally likeable. You have a blended family that often doesn't really feel much like a blended family. I mean Avery calls Bennett "Dad" and Tyler and Chloe (who look nothing alike...) call Ellen "mom". It's often easy to forget this is supposed to be a blended family. That's not done too well. But the dog-Stan is what brings them together. And there's some funny stories throughout the show. Most of which revolve around the kids trying to hide the fact Stan can talk from their parents. The show can be kind of cute, and pretty funny. I mean how many times do you see a dog drive a car? It's more for kids, but I like shows like that.

#115: Best Friends Whenever
Network: Disney
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Cyd
Favorite Episode: When Shelby Met Cyd
Premise: Two Girls gain the power of time travel
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This is another kid-com that I liked. It only got two seasons, but it was still pretty funny I thought. It featured two girls--Cyd and Shelby--who wind up getting powers to travel through time by complete accident. Whenever they touch each other, if they think of a time period--they'll travel to it. At first they can only travel to time periods within their own lifetime, but eventually they're able to go back further (though with the risk of getting stuck and forgetting each other). They also have two friends, Naldo (who is kind of an idiot) and Barry (who is kind of a genius). In both of the seasons, there's a mystery to solve. In the first season they experience a future where someone is experimenting on them at their dad's lab--and they want to find out who. Overall it's very much still a kid's show, but it has some decent action now and then, and can be pretty funny. Plus time travel rules!

Sliders. Man. That show. It, like the Star Treks and Babylon 5 and The X-Files and so forth, was one of my childhood shows. I really liked it, but I still couldn't make it through Season 5. What a revolving door that cast became. Somehow Rembrandt managed to remain the whole way through. It's funny, I mean, five seasons of 90s 22-26-episode seasons is a fairly large number of episodes but it's not all that long a period of time. Not short, but not like, super-long. But Sliders makes those five seasons feel like a gauntlet, and not in a good way. Even Jerry O'Connell wasn't there for Season 5, because the actor tried to exert pressure to right the show's creative course and the producers shot him down so he walked.

#114: Stuck In the Middle
Network: Disney
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Harley
Favorite Episode: Stuck With No Rules
Premise: A girl with 3 older siblings and 3 younger siblings must be the glue that holds the family together
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
The last of the Kidcoms for a little while. This one features a young girl named Harley who has 2 older sisters, and an older brother. She also has two younger brothers and a younger sister. The youngest daughter, Daphne, can be a bit creepy at times. The show has a huge cast--so every character isn't in every episode. The mom and dad actually aren't very useless. Many of the episodes deal with Harley trying to fix some problem, usually caused by her siblings. And often she gets very little recognition or reward--though sometimes she does. Though she doesn't always realize it. They're a pretty happy family together, though not without their fighting. It's only had two seasons so far--and will probably be cancelled before getting a third. But I thought it was a funny show, with likable characters.

#113: Eleventh Hour
Network: CBS
Genre: Crime Drama
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Dr. Jacob Hood
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Scientist is called in to investigate Science Crimes
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This show is basically Fringe minus the sci-fi and supernatural elements. Some of the science isn't solid, but some of it is. I remember they had a website where real scientists would talk about the science of the show. Dr. Hood is a scientist and all around nice guy who investigates science related crimes with the help of his partner and handler. It only lasted one season, but it did get 18 episodes at least. It was a memorable show, and pretty fun. Too bad it didn't get a second season.

Network: CW
Genre: Sci-Fi
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Clarke Griffin
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: In a post apocalyptic world, 100 prisoners are sent to earth to see if it's habitable
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I've only seen season 1 so far, but I mostly like what I've seen. I'm hoping to see if it has a proper ending before I continue too far though. In the future, after the world is destroyed in a nuclear apocalypse, all of humanity remains on an Ark. But the life support systems are failing, and they need to find out if earth is habitable or not. So they send all the prisoners--expendable people--to Earth to find out if it's habitable or not. Clarke, the daughter of the chief medical examiners, is one of the 100 prisoners sent to earth. She's also the first bisexual lead character on television, and first LGBT lead on a CW show. The first season was good--they had to contend with the 'grounders' who they discovered were somehow still on earth, despite all that happened. It reminds me a little of Terra Nova which I mentioned earlier, but it's a lot better.

#110: Do Over
Network:WB
Genre: Sitcom
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Joel Larson
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: Joel Larson is a 30 something paper salesmen bored with his life and his job. After being shocked by a defribrilator, he gets sent back to 1981--to live his life over again.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This show reminds me a bit of Worst year of my life, but I remember this one being way better. It was a lot funnier. Joel remembers everything that happened, and he can make changes to the past. Often his mother comes up with 'zany' ideas dismissed by his father, which later come to be great inventions that would make millions of dollars. Joel tries to profit off his knowledge, but it doesn't usually work out for him--instead having to try to get his family to improve their lives.

#109: United States of Tara
Network: Showtime
Genre: Comedy-Drama
Available: Hulu, Showtime
Favorite Character: Dr. Hatteras
Favorite Episode: Bryce Will Play
Premise: A Woman with multiple personalities tries to live a normal life
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Tara is a woman with split personalities--and not in the traditional sense. Each personality takes over her life, and it's ruining everything. You have the slutty personality that sleeps with whoever they want. The manly personality that has a thing for women, and getting into fights. And the motherly personality who wants to take care of everyone. Of course there are other personalities in the cast later on, including Bryce. It's an interesting show. Her husband has to deal with the fallout from each of the personalities, and sometimes he has no idea which one he's talking to. Their kids have a hard time dealing too--and it gets worse by the third season.
Spoiler thoughts:Of course it's discovered that all of this is happening because of what her half-brother Bryce did to her (namely molesting her). The personalities are trying to protect her from the fallout--but even they can't protect her once the Bryce Personality starts taking over (the effect of the repressed feelings). Of course this isn't scientific at all, but suspension of disbelief exists for a reason. Bryce even starts killing the other personalities so that he can take over permanently. You can tell that Tara is deeply disturbed.

But I eventually continued watching it, and I started liking it better. I need to catch up eventually--but I doubt I'll be able to before next season starts. (I think it's on the same time as something else I watch anyway). Oswald Cobblepot is played by the wonderful Robin Lord Taylor. And his story is probably the best part of season 1. I didn't care much for Fish Mooney. Eventually I'm going to get back to this.

Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This X-Files spinoff features The Lone Gunmen--three guys who want to prove their conspiracies. Who shot kennedy? Are Aliens among us? And more. They team up with Jimmy Bond--a man who was conned into running a football camp for blind people. He eventually funds the lone gunmen in hopes of helping them out. They're also occasionally added by Yves Harlow-- whose full name is an anagram of Lee Harvey Oswald It wasn't as good as X-Files, but it was still a fun show. And they predicted 9-11 before it happened, which was kind of creepy.

#106: Sleepy Hollow
Network: FOX
Genre: Supernatural Drama
Available: Hulu, Yahoo
Favorite Character: Ichabod Crane
Favorite Episode: The Midnight Ride
Premise: A Man from the American Revolution arrives in the present.. to find the apocalypse is coming
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Sleepy Hollow was a fun show in the first season. Ichabod had to adjust to his new time period with his Lieutenant. And he's always making references to founding fathers that he happened to know. It was set up as a great show with 5 seasons ahead of it. Then... season 2 things kind of went downhill. I lost interest, and I hear season 3 wasn't much better. Season 4 supposedly improved a little. Ichabod was fantastic though. Just his reaction to modern conveniences, and his refusal to update his wardrobe. Abby Mills was a good character too. And even the Nathan Drake wannabe was okay. I was really looking forward to this show being great, but the writers went in so many bad directions in season 2 that I couldn't bring myself to watch it anymore. But season 1 was fantastic.

#105: Gracepoint
Network: FOX
Genre: Mystery
Available: Nowhere, but you can watch Broadchurch on Netflix
Favorite Character: Emmett Carver
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Detective comes to town to solve a murder of a young boy
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Gracepoint was a pretty good show. I haven't seen Broadchurch, but I think they're both the same show (with just different actors). The story centers around the death of a young boy, and everyone is a suspect. His mother is a detective, and she wants to solve the case. She's assigned a new partner--Emmett who also has a vested interest in the case. It didn't last very long, and it didn't get a second season like Broadchurch did. I'm going to have to check Broadchurch out sometime soon. (Especially since it was written by Chibnall who's taking over Doctor Who)

#104: Happy Town
Network: ABC
Genre: Mystery
Available: ABC.com
Favorite Character: Henley Boone
Favorite Episode: Slight of Hand
Premise: Every year for 7 years The Magic Man makes someone disappear... Five years ago, it stopped, but nobody knows why. Now that blood has been spilled again in the small town of haplin, The Magic Man is back
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This was a... really weird show. I think it's supposed to be a spiritual successor to Twin Peaks (which I still need to watch too). Everyone in the town had secrets, including Henley who recently arrived in Haplin. She's not who everyone thinks she is. Sam Neil and Amy Acker were also in this show. It only got eight episodes--and not all of them aired on television. The big mystery was the Magic Man. The Town's Matron seemed to know who he was, and she wanted to keep the info from Henley (who seemed to know the Sheriff, but the Sheriff went crazy at the end of the first episode and started spouting nonsense. And I do mean nonsense. He literally says "If you touch the baby jesus, I will make you wear the costume" which... makes absolutely no sense. He then says that "Chloe Burnt the can" Which again... makes no sense. Except that Henley's real name is Chloe. It was a fun mystery show, and I wish they wrapped it up in eight episodes instead of trying for more.

#103: Garfield and Friends
Network: CBS
Genre: Cartoon
Available: Hulu, Yahoo
Favorite Character: Garfield
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: The tales of the fat orange cat from the comics
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I remember watching this one on Cartoon Network. And it was actually my only experience with Garfield, so I was always wondered why people didn't like him very much. I mean the movie with Bill Murray was terrible. But the cartoon was good. It had the buddy bears (who always get along--except when it comes to pizza toppings, as Garfield found out). Garfield was always coming up with some sort of scheme. There were also the segments on the farm. I didn't like those quite as much, but Wade the duck was pretty funny. He was scared of EVERYTHING.

#102: Grand Tour
Network: Amazon
Genre: Talkshow
Available: Amazon
Favorite Character: Jeremy Clarkson
Favorite Episode: Operation Desert Stumble
Premise: Three British Guys talk about Cars
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
The Grand Tour isn't what Top Gear was. It can't be--they won't let it. Which is why they can't have celebrities on the show (so instead they kill them off before they ever arrive. And No, James. They won't be on.) The show can be very funny, even if you don't care much about cars. In one episode they try to do an army simulation which is downright hilarious. They've only done one season so far, but season 2 will be coming soon. Hopefully it'll be even better. I'm sure Amazon is hoping to get their money's worth.

#101: Columbo
Network: NBC
Genre:Crime-Drama
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Columbo
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: A Detective must catch criminals.. but how will he do it?
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
I've only seen a few episodes of Columbo here and there. I watched it because i heard that Phoenix Wright was based in part off of Columbo, and the writers are big fans. Basically Columbo is a detective. You know who the killer is--the question is--how does Columbo trap them? That's the big question of each episode. And it's told pretty well. You always know the identity of the killer. There's no question about it. Columbo pretends to be a bumbling detective, but then... he adds "One more thing" and you can tell he's on to the truth. It's a really good show, though I can't really put it in the Top 100 when I haven't seen much of it to judge it. Still, what i saw I liked. Though one has to wonder how many he'd catch if they just refused to work with him. That's always what gets them caught.

Sliders. Man.

Sliders had a fantastic concept! But it left a lot to be desired. Reminded me a little of Quantum Leap, but with alternate universes instead of different times. I think they thought all the actors were replaceable. I'd much rather have had Sabrina Lloyd than Kari Wuhrer in season 4.

Definitely keep watching The 100 and Gotham. They both improve past the first season. The 100 should have a proper ending, since that's just basically how CW operates nowadays. I kind of expect an announcement that Season 5 will be the last in the coming months.

And yeah, Sleepy Hollow got better again, but it's fine not to continue. I'd say 1 > 4 > 3 > 2.

#100: Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt
Network: Netflix
Genre: Sitcom
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Kimmy Schmidt
Favorite Episode: Kimmy Goes To A Bar!
Premise: A woman is rescued from a doomsday cult, and starts her life over
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Kimmy and three other women were kidnapped as teenagers by the Doomsday Cult Leader (And Apprentice hopeful) Reverend Wane. They spent 15 years trapped in a bunker, thinking that the world had ended. Little did they know... it hadn't. They're rescued in the first episode. The story focuses on Kimmy, who is a fish out of temporal water when it comes to society. She's missed 15 years of everything--but she doesn't let it get her down. (Which is why she's called Unbreakable). The show also features her gay black roommate Titus, who is trying to pursue his own dream. Kimmy herself doesn't use her status as a 'mole woman' to get ahead. Then you have Jacqueline, who is Kimmy's boss in season 1. It was the second Netflix original I watched. I watched through the first two seasons in about a week. But I haven't seen season 3 yet.

#99: Torchwood
Network: BBC
Genre: Sci-Fi
Available: Amazon
Favorite Character: Jack Harkness
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: The Torchwood Institute defends earth against Alien Threats.
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Torchwood is another show i haven't finished yet. I started watching it, and then they took it off Amazon. They put it back on some time ago, but I just haven't got back to it yet. Torchwood is of course another Doctor Who spinoff (and is in fact an anagram of Doctor Who). But what I watched I enjoyed. Like Sarah Jane, Jack Harkness got his start as a companion on Doctor Who. He was made immortal, and now works for the Torchwood Institute--which was a villainous organization at one time, but now helps people thanks to Captain Jack. It's a small team of alien hunters, and the concept is really good. I like it a little better than the Sarah Jane Adventures--it's more serious in tone.

#98: Twisted
Network: ABC Family
Genre: Drama
Available: Hulu
Favorite Character: Danny Desai
Favorite Episode: Dead Men Tell BIg tales
Premise: A teenage boy is released from juvie and returns home to reunite with the two girls who were there when he confessed to killing his Aunt
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
When Danny Desai was 11 years old he was convicted of killing his Aunt. Nobody knows why he did it--and he's certainly not telling. After serving five years in juvie, he's released and returns to the town that hates him. The show leaves it open (at least for a while) on if Danny actually killed his Aunt or not. There's moments where you think he could have done it, and other moments where you want to believe he's innocent. Things are complicated when another girl turns up dead, and Danny becomes the prime suspect. He's a very manipulative character, and borderline sociopath, but at the same time charismatic and likable. And he has a troubled past to top it all off. Reconnecting with his old friends--whose lives he ruined just by being friends with them--proves to be a bit easier than it probably should have been, but he gets plenty of grief from the rest of the town. The show only lasted one season--and that's probably a good thing. I'm not sure it needed another season.
Spoiler Thoughts:
Of course it turns out that Danny didn't murder his Aunt--he just took the fall for his dad. Which means he spent 5 years in Juvie just to protect his dad--who is definitely NOT a nice guy you want to root for. I'm glad they didn't wait until later to reveal that.

#97: Liv and Maddie
Network: Disney
Genre: Teen Sitcom
Available: Netflix
Favorite Character: Maddie Rooney
Favorite Episode: Continued-A-Rooney
Premise: Twin Sisters reunite after one twin finishes filming her TV Show
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another Kid-com that I really liked. Liv and Maddie features Dove Cameron as Liv Rooney, and as Maddie Rooney--twin sisters who are very different. She plays the parts pretty convincingly, each having their own distinctive voice. What's not very convincing is when the stand-ins try to make it look like both girls are in the room at once. It's so obvious they're obstructing their faces. The first episode kind of turned me off this show--I found it annoying how Liv would always sing "Sing it loud" when she'd say the name of her show. Of course the show itself pokes fun of it once in a while. Liv is an actress who wants to make it big, but came home after finishing her TV show. She's usually pretty nice but can be a total Diva sometimes. Her twin sister is Maddie, who plays on the girl's basketball team with her own catchphrase (Bam, What!). She's a tough girl type. They also have two brothers--Joey, who's a bit of a nerd, and loves cats, and Parker who digs tunnels under the house, and creates inventions that are amazing (Like a weather machine) but they always end up having more trouble than they should. Then you have the parents who are pretty embarrassing--especially the mom, who often pulls out her flute to play when Liv sings. It's a pretty good cast of characters, and I thought it was a fun show. Even some of the recurring characters like Diggie and Artie are funny. Especially when it's revealed they're brothers.

Sorry! It's been a year since I've seen it, and I don't remember it all that well. I liked Kimmy pretty well. She's always got a positive attitude, and it's easy to empathize with her having been stuck in the bunker for 15 years. The humor isn't typically the style I like (as evidenced by the types of comedies I usually watch) but it managed to get me to like it. I only checked it out become of the premise actually. Just the idea of a woman leaving a cult, and coming out into the world sounded like a good idea for a show--and I think it turned out to be a good show. I need to rewatch it sometime, but I've got so many other things I'm watching. At least next year it looks like there won't be any new shows I'm interested in.

No need to apologize! Again, I figure that if you're ranking this many shows, then down low (even at halfway through) you've mainly got hazy memories.

Nothing else really moves the needle for me on your list yet - AFAIAC, reality/game/documentary/educational shows just don't matter at all, and there's a ton of older TV here that I didn't watch and probably never will - so I'm just hoping the stuff that will interest me resides at the top.

Also, I watched like 60 total minutes of Garfield and Friends but liked it. You do know he's a drawn character and not an animated one, right?

(Amendment: Just noticed Seinfeld. That would be really high for me. Which isn't unconscionable, but I would be surprised not to see any of the shows it has influenced higher up in the list.)

I appreciate the fast pace you're taking so far.

#96: DuckTales
Network: Syndication
Genre: Cartoon
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: Scrooge McDuck
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: The Adventures of Billionaire Scrooge McDuck
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
Another cartoon I actually watched when I was younger. My older brother loved this show growing up, and they'd often air repeats early in the morning. So before school he'd watch it, and I'd get up and watch too. Scrooge and his three nephews would go on all sorts of adventures. Scrooge was a real miser, who never liked parting with money. But he loved finding treasures. He had a helicopter pilot named Launchpad McQuack who was always crashing. I think my second favorite character would probably be Gizmoduck who'd always shout "Blathering Blatherskites" when he transformed. It's been a long time since I've seen the show, but I remember really liking it. Especially since I'd get up early to watch it. Their adventures were always fun to watch, and Scrooge had a good cast of villains going against him, including the Beagle Boys and Magica DeSpell. And sometimes he'd team up with even them when things were going bad enough. A fun cartoon.

Network: FOX
Genre: Mystery
Available: Nowhere
Favorite Character: None
Favorite Episode: None
Premise: You're told a series of stories, and at the end you find out if they were FACT or FICTION
Spoiler Free Thoughts:
This was a pretty fun show. In each episode they'd tell you a series of stories, and then at the end you'd find out if they were based on a true story, or if they were just made up. It was hosted by James Brolin in the first season, and then Jonathan Frakes for the last three. I really liked Frakes as the host--but I don't remember watching during season 1. The only story I remember clearly was one where someone was buried alive, and I think it was based on a true story. The fun part of the show was trying to figure out if the stories were true or not. Sometimes it was really hard to tell. I think they stretched some of the stories a little, to make it harder to tell. But that didn't take away from the fun of the show. Usually Frakes would explain what really happened if it was true. He did a good job drawing out the suspense.
