It has a Chapter system. So loads of stuff from gear to cutscenes to key items are missable.

However it has New Game Plus+

So nothing is locked off forever

You need to follow an INCREDIBLY precise sequence of events, and messing the smallest thing up can ruin it.

It's honestly much easier to do it in two, people stress about one way too much.

You can technically cheese your way through those super bosses if you're into that btw.

the guide on gamefaqs is helpful. might be other guides on the internet that could help (cant remember what i used myself). might of been a few youtube videos to make sure i was keeping my percents.

Extremely useful character later in the game and her overdrive is amazing.

Plus her celestial weapon is one of the easier ones to get. I think a chest somewhere also contains a weapon with no encounters which is useful.

X-2 had so much cringe in getting a perfect ending. i had some points come up where i thought i wasn't going to get it.

missing just one thing would reduce the overall percentage.

I remember following the strategy guide, and I got to like 99.3% or some shit like that. I went out and bought a gameshark and hacked in 100% to see the ending. In hindsight, not sure why I didn't look it up on YT.

Because later you'll have equipment that gives you "no encounters" which makes your dodging life soooo much easier.

To be fair, IIRC when Yuna and Lulu both maxes out their Sphere Grids Yuna somehow comes out on top when it comes to magic. Later on though I found Lulu to be extremely inefficient compared to the early game because of how many enemies are straight up resistant or even immune to elemental damage.

Word. Towards endgame with Yuna rocking Holy and Rikku/Kimahri having steal/use, Lulu falls off hard. It also doesn't help that her speed is abysmal so less frequent turns also stings.

Funny you ask that.

There actually is sort of an affection system, where every character has an invisibe affection bar for Tidus which raises and lowers based on healing/hitting them in battle and specific dialogue choices.

However it affects close to nothing so no one really pays attention to it.

For example in that scene in Guadosalam you referenced, that's either with Rikku or Lulu based on who likes you more.

Later there's a similar scene scenario only between Rikku, Lulu or Kimarhi later.

And then there's one or two points later in the game where "The character with the highest affection for Tidus" says a line.

Really the only thing it affects of note is which girl grabs Tidus' balls in his final overdrive animation.

Remember the "Who do you go on a date with?" bit in FFVII? It's like that.

So much so that the ability to skip scenes in the sequel was actually advertised.

I suspect there's just no way to do it without fucking the game up or something

FFX is my favorite but I never really cared to do the annoying celestial weapon stuff. The end game is really easy and that stuff only helps with like Monster Arena stuff which isn't that much fun.

best advice i can give is to stream a tv show or some music. might take an hour to dodge 100.
i did it while watching king of the hill though i fouled up once or twice early on.

The lightning Dodge stuff can be done in about 15 minutes with the Crater trick. But holy shit is it so braindead stupid

Just remember to play on a low lag tv and to set a 15-20 min timer. I forgot to and ended up dodging 400 in 45 mins
