Yeah, like I said before, the special stages were the lowest point for me. I really wish they would have stuck with Blue Spheres for the emeralds. Well, by special stages, did you mean Blue Sphere or the 3D UFO levels? I enjoyed getting all of the gold medals from the Blue Sphere levels. There's the 14 levels from Sonic 3 and Knuckles, which are always fun, but I thought the newly created ones were mostly great.

Is Sonic faster than Tails and Knuckles in the 2D games?

UFO stages are for the emeralds. There are huge rings hidden in the levels. Just fly around or climb around and you'll find some.

I think everyone is the same speed. They mostly play the same, but there are slight differences. Knuckles can't jump as high as Sonic, for example, but it's just a teeny tiny difference. If you're playing as Sonic and Tails, you can actually have Tails fly you around. Just hold Up and tap the jump button twice. It takes a bit of practice, but it's an amazing way to explore.

Being able to fly with S&T during single player came from a fangame, I think. It's just another small thing that doesn't sound like a major deal, but it makes gameplay that much more fun.

What's your favorite level so far? A lot of people online like Press Garden, but I thought it was meh.

I'm halfway through The Defenders. It's pretty good so far. Better than Iron Fist, although that's not much of an accomplishment.

Do you guys ever notice friends on Facebook who "like" different things about a topic that are seemingly contradictory? It always seems to be somebody who believes strongly in conspiracy theories and doesn't have higher than a high school education. I feel bad defriending people, especially if I'm going to have to end up talking to them outside of Facebook/seeing them IRL, but that shit is perplexing and kind of makes me uncomfortable with them

So what do you guys think of all this eclipse hysteria?

I'm gonna watch the eclipse, but all these reports that more than the entire state's population worth of people will be pouring into Wyoming are insane. Supposedly it's like 92% coverage around Denver, so it doesn't sound at all worth it for that hellish road trip. And then there are the huge lines wrapping around stores for glasses, but I got my pair at a brewery giving them away with growlers and there was like no one there

We're getting a full eclipse here. We got glasses and we're gonna watch it but it's like... Who really cares.

Well I just read on Facebook that eclipse glasses sold by Missouri state parks, which is where ours are from, might not be safe! You can't imagine what a nightmare this has been with the glasses. Well I wasn't really involved with getting them at all but I was always included in the group texts which is nightmarish in its own right and I'm sure there will be plenty more about this coming tomorrow.

People are selling eclipse glasses online for hundreds of dollars like they were Nintendo products

I totally have SNES Classic preorder anxiety. It's gotta be coming up soon. Maybe the retailers will launch preorders right when the eclipse passes Colorado and then I'll miss my chance

We are juuuuuuuust on the edge of seeing the full eclipse, so people are going crazy here. We called a bunch of places yesterday that were sold out of glasses. Finally, we heard a random gas station had some, and they ended up having dozens of boxes of them. On ebay, they were going for at least $30 a pair.

I think the eclipse will be cool, but it's not a huge deal. The weather says we might get some rain or at least some clouds, which would simultaneously be a bummer and hilarious.

I looked at the Rockies' month by month records and they've basically been steadily declining as the months go on. They went 6 games over .500 in April, 5 in May and 3 in June. They were .500 in July and now so far they're 2 below .500 for August. I don't know, that could just be coincidence, but it seems to me like a bad sign. And it doesn't get any easier with September being loaded with division games

Have we ever talked about amiibo in these topics? It seems like the kind of thing that I imagine would have come up at some point, but at the same time I don't remember ever really talking about them.


I used to not really care about them at all and thought they were stupid, but I've been kind of into them lately, or at least the various Zelda ones. I don't really care that much about merch for games or whatever, but Zelda is kind of an exception. But I wish I had gotten into them earlier because now a bunch of them are scarce like everything else Nintendo makes. All I have now is the ones you can still buy retail, which is just Wolf Link and the BotW series (except the Bokoblin).

I was shouting from the rooftops that this isn't a playoff team back in Spring Training, but the bastards still got me good. They were average enough to stick around, and their Baseruns record is much better than their current record, so I thought, "Well, maybe...?" They go on a huge winning streak just to falter against an average Pittsburgh team.

It all makes me feel so yucky. It hurts worse when you feel those fluttering playoff butterflies in your stomach begin to emerge from their once-dead chrysalis, and instead of someone coming and destroying those butterflies in one fell swoop, your own body violently rejects them one baserunning blunder at a time.

I understand the collectible aspect of amiibos so I wouldn't call them stupid, but they're just not for me. Even as a former big time Zelda collector. At this point they're just expensive pieces of plastic that would clutter up my room.

I wish their business model would allow you to have the option to pay a few bucks for a digital code for that DLC without buying the amiibo, but even then I don't know if the costumes or whatever else they unlock are worth anything to me.

TBH I just like the figures more than I actually care about the DLC aspect (hence me calling them "merch" earlier, but I certainly was aware they do things in-game).

Uninteresting story: Shortly after I posted earlier, I was searching for just a lone Zelda amiibo on eBay and it just so happened the first result was an auction with less than a minute left for the entire SSB Zelda roster. There was so little time left that I didn't really even have time to read the description (usually a bad idea) but I bid anyway and won. So I got all those for a little over $20 each, I think that's a good deal?

I have the LE strategy guides, the gold Zelda DS Lite with a Zelda carrying case. A Zelda Wiimote. I still have the SNES Zelda instruction manual map hanging in my room. I think a friend gave me this pin or button collection of Zelda characters that's displayed on my closet wall.

There's probably other really obvious stuff I'm missing.

I almost forgot about the limited edition Zelda consoles. I wish I had one, but they're all expensive now. Is that the Wiimote that came with SS? I got SS as a Christmas gift when it came out, too bad my parents didn't buy the special edition since a Wiimote is pretty useful compared to a lot of other stuff that comes in special editions.

I have two shirts, a jigsaw puzzle, throw blanket, an etsy print, some fridge magnets and the amiibo. Uh, I think that's it. Most of them were gifts.
